How to create BOM(Bill Of Material) item data from flat file?

I have two flat files one is BOM(Bill Of Material) header data and BOM item data. BOM header is already created, now I want to create BOM item data with reference to the header data. Is there any standard direct batch input method in LSMW or Is there any standard BAPI or Is there any standard BDC report program to do the task? CS01 is the TCode to create BOM.

The DI program works for create step CS01 and not for CS02.
Perhaps this ( adding items in header by Tx: CS02 ) could be achieved by a Recording step in LSMW.

As per the inputs given by you guys i started loading data from flat file.
I try to load 28 files from i which i was able to load 24 files succesfully.For the other 4 i got this error messages

How to create a report to bring all data from two different Info providers

Hi All,
I have a peculier problem while creating a report. I have two custom info providers one DSO and another Cube. There are only two common fields between these two Info providers . I need to create a report such that the report displays all the values from DSO but user can have the selection option on one of the fields in the Cube.
Here is an example
DSO Contents:
DocNum-     DocItem-     DocText-     Amount-      Quantity
10000----     10----            ABC----          100----           10
10001----     20----     DSN----     200----     10
10005----     20----     DSN----     200----     10
Z1003----     10----     CAN----     500----     1
Cube Contents

The report needs to be displayed as shown below when the user selects value for date from 1/10/2009 to 2/20/2009

I hope this was clear for you to understand. I would really appricate if any one can answers about how to resolve this problem. I cannot add the date filed to DSO and I also have Doc Num and Item as the user selection fields in the report.

Hi chinna,
Two possible options, I can think of now, but both of them may be a compromise with performance.
1. create an infoset and then a query on top of it, provided we have a one to one relation in both the targets. That is, the combination of doc and item number is not duplicate in either cube or ODS.
2. Create a master data object of doc and item number and have date as an attribute. Load that from cube data and make date as navigational attr.
Use this navgntal attr for selection in your report.

Hi,
If your SharePoint environment supports InfoPath Forms, then you can customize the form and add rules to make the list items as read only when user A submits the form.
you can then write a form load event to check the logged in user using username() function. This logic can be implemented in variety of ways, like setting a flag when User A submits the form, or storing user A username in a form variable etc., else comparing
User A and User B values within form Load event.
Another way of doing this is using Views or grouping all of the User A fields within a section etc.,
The above would take care of Form logic, and for the workflow, you can use SharePoint designer to create a custom workflow, where it will run on onItemCreate and onItemChange events.
The logic for workflow would be if the form Submitted for the first time, the workflow will start and send an email to User B, and when User B submits the Data then onItemChange change event will start the workflow to send an email to approver to approve
the data.

download one key figure data from planning book ( interactive damand plan) and made some changes and need to upload the data back to same planning book
But, may I know why you are thinking of downloading, changing and uploading for just changing the figures for a particular key figure. You can do it in the planning book itself.
However, not all the key-figures can be changed. But, what type of key-figure you are speaking here? Is it like 'Forecast' for which the value is based on other key-figures, or is like a key-figure where some manual adjustments are to be done--so that it can be manually edited? However, in both the cases, the data can be changed in the planning book only. In first case, you can change the values of dependant key-figures and in the second case, you can change the key-figures directly.
And please note that you can change the values of the key-figures only at the detailed level. So, after loading the data in the book, use drill-down option, maintain the data at the detailed level, change the figures, and automatically, this gets reflected at the higher level.
In case you are unable to change the values, go to the 'Design' mode of the book, right-click your key-figure, under "Selected Rows", uncheck "Output Only" option. In case you are unable to see that option, then you are not authorised to change that. See if you can change the authorisations by going to the "Data View" tab in planning book configuration (/n/sapapo/sdp8b), and change the value of Status to 3.

How to process other task when reading the data from a file?

I met a problem. I created a GUI to control the audio data processing. When the "Start" button is pressed, a block of data is read from the audio file and processed, then loop.But other buttons or method cannot be operated in that procession until all data is processed.
How to let the other methods work under that circumstance? Should I use multiple threads?

How to use LSMW to upload database table directly from flat file extract

I am new to LSMW tool. I have searched the fourm before posting this thread for my issue but i didn't find any good posts for the same.
my requirement is : I will have a flat ( tab -delimited ) or Excel file with number of records downloaded using the databrowser for some of standard tables from one SAP systesm . I wanted to upload the records using the LSMW to the same tables in some other SAP systesm . Please help me to How to upload the same using the LSMW.

Hi Praveen,
There is a risk trying to migrate data directly into standard tables because this can generate database inconsistences or wrong inserted data according to what is customized in the target system. I do not recommend migrate like this.
With LSMW you use objects like direct input programs, idocs, bapis and recorded batch input. Try to create a project and use an standard object for your data. Also, check in SXDA transaction (Goto-->DX programs) if there is a standard program for your data.

Sure, read about the wonderful SQL*LOADER. This tool's purpose is exactly that.

Since you did not mention your database version, I could not put a better one.

File to RFC (create Project Def in R# using data from XML file)

I configured the scenario as follows:
Step 1.
Created data type and message type suitable for file data.
Createtd async outbound message interface
Defined message mapping between Messge type defined and BAPI
Defined Interface mapping between Message interface & BAPI
Definf file sender communicational & RFC receiver communicational
and completed the rest of configuration id and activated all.
File is being read successfully but Project creation is not happening.
error "no sender or receiver interface definition " shown in SXMB_MONI.
Plesase through light on this problem.

again I tested.
error is still comming.

How do you make iTunes read updated tag data from a file?

This is such basic functionality that I'm sure I'm just missing it. It used to be the when I modified a file using a third party application (or editing a shared library using iTunes running on a different machine), all you had to do to get those updates into iTunes was select, hit "get info" and click OK without changing anything. That broke in 9.2 - it still recognized that the file has changed and adjusts the Date Modified field, but doesn't actually update any of the fields.
The revised tags don't get updated until you either Get Info individually on each file, play the file, or modify the files. So realistically, there are no workarounds - the first two aren't realistic for a full library and the latter trashes your modification date and causes the refresh to take hours to complete if the library is on a remote server, rather than the ten minutes it used to take.

What do you mean by deleting it from datafile ?, Is it flat file or something else you want to ask? I believe you have records in flat files and you want to delete them as soon as you load them into oracle table.Oracle dosent offer such facility, however you can syncronise your tables and flat file contents by using merge statements and update it in a fashion, so that only records which reflects in flat files syncronises with table in oracle database .

Try to save your XLS file into CSV format and set either NLS_LANG to the right value or use SQL*Loader control file parameter CHARACTERSET.
