How to create code in another Project's package

In 11.5.10 jDeveloper 9.0.3 OA
I've created a custom package in a project and put a VO into it. I've deployed that code to Oracle Applications.
I now want to create new customizations within that same package but would like to do so in a new project. But that project won't let me create that package - it says I must copy it. Yet, when I do that, it won't let me add any new objects (all the 'New View Object', 'New .....' options are greyed out in the new project.
I understand that the server.xml for the package must contain all files for the project but why can't I alter this in the new project? It treats the package like an oracle package (though it starts with xxx.oracle...)
Is there any way to continue using an existing package without adding more code to an already-deployed project?

I'm not sure what you are trying to do but you seem to need
        File f = new File("the path of the file you want to create");
        f.getParentFile().mkdirs();No need to make the mkdirs() conditional since it will only make the directories if they don't exist.

  • How to create a Web Dynpro Project from Downloaded zip file?

    Hi,
    I have been working in Java Web Dynpro for last 1 month but not able
    to create any Web Dynpro from Downloaded zip file?
    Can anybody tell me how to create a Java Web Dynpro Project from
    Donloaded zip code?
    Regards
    Kaushik Banerjee

    Hi Kaushik,
    You can add the existing zip file into your workspace by the following way -
    First open the NWDS and create a new project by clicking file -> new -> Project -> Simple -> Project
    and then File -> Import -> zipfile and then browse the zip file into the newly created project.
    or else you can also unzip the zip file into a folder and then Use the option of Import an exisitng project into workspace. You can find this in the File-> import -> Existing project into workspace. and then use the Browse option to browse to the existing folder.
    After importing the project you need to rebuild the project

  • How to access code in other projects?

    Hi all,
    I ran into an issue in FlexBuilder I'm not sure how to resolve, hopefully someone here can help.  I have several projects in my workspace right now I'll call them project A and B.  I have one project in particular, call that project C, that needs access to code contained in a couple of other projects, A and B.  I don't want to copy all those files from the other projects into this one cause there's a lot of files, it's tedious, and unmaintainable.  I don't want to make all those files into a flex library either cause it's not really necessary.
    I tried adding the folders in project A and B into the source path of project C but when I tried to import those files it did not work.  So does anyone know of a way that I can access code from other projects in the same workspace?  If you could provide an example also that would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Additional info: The code complete for the import actually shows me the files in the source path are available.  In fact, when I hit F3 it points me to the proper file in the other project.  However, FlexBuilder keeps telling me the type was not found or it isn't a compile time constant.

    No polymorphism? You should check again. Just because overloading is not supported that does not mean that polymorphism can't be applied. Polymorphism does not start or end with overloading, please read up on polymorphism ( http://www.adobe.com/devnet/actionscript/articles/oop_as3_05.html or find a more generic definition and see that polymorphic principles can be applied in AS 3.0 too ).
    No, ActionScript is not purely OOP, but what is? The only language I know of that is considered "a pure OOP language" is Java. Does that make other languages less good? Definitely not. Just because AS 3.0 does not support overloading it does not mean that OOP principles can't be applied and nor does it mean that it's not a valid OOP language.

    Instead of learning this architectural stuff If I were new to Flex, first I'll learn what the heck is the Flex SDK, and obviously AS3, then I can move on to design patter, singletons, decorators, PureMVC, and so on.
    Well, sice I don't know ehwhoknows and I have no idea how new he is ( he may be new to Flex but that doesn't mean that he is new to programming ), I took "the risk" to add an additional opinion to his post saying that "sure what ntsiii said is totally cool but in the future, you might want to read up on OOP and design patterns because they offer much more than mixing projects in a barbaric manner".
    Obviously, if he is new to programming ( a detail that I don't see being mentioned in his post ) then he should stick to the simple things, but does that mean that we can't point out other solutions that may be more complex and harder to understand for a newbie at the moment. At least, he'll now know that there are other solutions out there too. Everything has it's time, but without telling him that "hey, solution A si ok, but solution B would be much better on the long run" then how do you expect him to find out about solution B? By accident?
    I wasn't trying to prove anyone wrong, all that I wanted to point out is that there are other solutions out there too that offer much more on the long run. If he can't handle OOP at the moment, no problem, but at least give him the chance to try it out.
    @ ATIF FAROOQ: I totally agree that it would be nice if the guys at Adobe would implement overloading and not only, abstract classes would be nice too ( and I mean "real abstract classes" like in Java, not workarounds ).
    @ Muzak: Totally agree, I said to use a Library mainly because that's what I use most ( beside simply pasting classes from a project into another; I do this occasionally and sometimes when I'm lazy ). In either case, the final goal is achieved: reusability.

          How to create Sales Quotation(VA22) from project through DP81, what all the customization settings are required for this functionality; please explain me all the step those are required for this process.
    Regards,

    Hi,
    You can use DP81 and DP82 to create Quotations .
    If you want to use DP81 then you need to link Sales Inquiry with Project by entering the WBS Element in Account Assignment Tab of Inquiry and also enter the DIP Profile in Sales B View.
    Else you can carry sales pricing without the creation of Inquiry.Enter the DIP Profile ,Dist Channel,Division in control data tab of project and also enter Sold to party in Partner tab.
    See SAP help for customisation of DIP Profile .

  • Can I run the code in another project?

    I use Jdeveloper v903.
    I have three projects.
    Can I run a project's code from other project within the same workspace?
    Stephen

    Stephen, before I [try to] answer your question I think that you need to adjust a bit more to the paradigm shift between a form based application and the true oop metaphor.
    Ok. Now, to accomplish what you want is simple. Suppose you have BC4j, Client1, and Client2 projects. Within Client2 you want to instantiate classes in Client1. Besides making Client2 dependant on Client1 in the settings, which by the way only simply ensures proper [re]build of projects, also make sure that your classes within each project are inside a package, then in the client2 code import the client1 package. Thats it.
    In case you did not package your existing code, be ready for some jDev glitches in renaming/moving classes into a new package. You can use the refactor feature, but you should manually make absolutely sure your old classes are not still sitting around in the old hierarchy. Due to the hassle involved, if your jclient projects are relatively small (and again only if you did not package em up in the first place), you are better off creating new client projects and creating your classes in packages from the onset.
    Hope this helps;

  • How to create Instace of another process from running process.

    Hi,
    I want to create an instance of another process from my running process. Along with this i want to pass a business object as input parameter to this instance. Please help me to do this !!!

    This and other ways to create an instance in another process was described in Re: create new process instance
    1. Here's how you can create an instance in a process using logic in an Automatic activity's method. This uses the "Fuego.Lib.ProcessInstance.create()" method shown below inside a process:
    // "argsIn" is an associative string array (Any[String])
    argsIn as Any[String]
    // this assumes that the Begin activity has two argument variables
    //   named "nameArg" (a string) and "myBpmObjectArg" (a BPM
    //   object variable) and you're setting them
    //   to the previously initialized variables "name" and
    //   "myBpmObject" respectively
    argsIn["nameArg"] = name
    argsIn["myBpmObjectArg"] = myBpmObject
    // logic here to determine the name of the process to create an instance in
    idOfProcess as String
    idOfProcess = <hard coded string that has the id (not the name) of the process to instantiate>
    ProcessInstance.create(processId : "/" + idOfProcess, arguments : argsIn,
         argumentsSetName : "BeginIn") ProcessInstance is in the Catalog inside Fuego.Lib.
    The processId parameter (the "idOfProcess" variable in the above logic) is the thing I most commonly screw up with this. It is the text you see when you right mouse click the process in the Project Navigator tab -> "Properties". Look at the value in the "Id" field and not the "Name" field here (the name without any space characters). Prefix it with a "/" as is shown here and if you've deployed this using an organization unit (OU) then prefix this to the string also.
    The third parameter is almost always "BeginIn". Begin activities in a process can have many incoming argument mappings, the default is "BeginIn". To see yours, double click the process's Begin activity and look at the mapping's name in the upper left corner of the dialog.
    "argsIn" is the set of incoming argument variables you want passed into the process. A common mistake is to type in the names of the incoming argument variables without the double quotes like this:
    // this will *NOT* work
    argsIn[nameArg] = name
    argsIn[myBpmObjectArg] = myBpmObject
    . . .Here is the correct syntax:
    // this *WILL* work
    argsIn["nameArg"] = name
    argsIn["myBpmObjectArg"] = myBpmObject
    . . .In this example, the process has two argument variables. It does not matter if the incoming argument variables are primitive type arguments (e.g. String, Integer, Decimal...) or BPM Objects, it is always done the same way. In this example, there is a String incoming argument called "nameArg" and a BPM Object incoming argument called "myBpmObjectArg".
    2. A process can create a new instance in another process using the Subflow activity which synchronously creates an instance in a child subprocess and waits for the result to return once the instance in the child subprocess reaches the End activity in the process. From the parent process, you'd match the incoming and outgoing argument variables of the called child process with instance variables in your parent process.
    3. A process can create a new instance in another process using the Process Creation activity which asynchronously creates an instance in a child subprocess (fire and forget) but does not wait for the child to respond to the parent. Once the child process begins, the parent continues its flow. From the parent process, you'd match the incoming argument variables of the called child process with instance variables in your parent process.

  • How to create code for an additional field in an info set

    Hello,
    I have an info set in tra SQ02 and the area is HCM with version ERP2004.
    I need to create an additional field to show "Work permit" in ad hoc queries. I know that the infotype 0016 has a standard field P0016-ARBER which contains a date if that person has a work permit. System should select the latest record or the one which is valid during reporting period.
    The requirement for this new field is that it should just has X if the field P0016-ARBER contains a date (i.e. that person has a work permit). If the field  P0016-ARBER is empty, then the new field "Work permit" is also empty. So, the date itself is not enough.
    I am not an abaper. I have tried to create a code for my field but there is always problems with the code. I have tried without the line<i>into</i> but checker says I need to. I have tried different places for statement ENDSELECT but without success. How should I do this?
    What I have so far is (TYOLUPA = Work permit) is shown below:
    select SINGLE ARBER
    into TYOLUPA
    from PA0016
    where pernr = P0016-pernr
    and ENDDA = '31129999'.
    clear TYOLUPA.
    if ARBER ne ''.
    then TYOLUPA = 'X'.
    endif.
    Thanks for your advice!
    Regards,
    Pipsa

    pia,
    In extras tab  create column "workpermit" in infoset and add that column to Field groups.
    Then under record processing event...
    DATA : TYOLUPA like PA0016-ARBER.
    Under Record processing event.
    select SINGLE ARBER
    into TYOLUPA
    from PA0016
    where pernr = P0016-pernr
    and ENDDA = '31129999'.
    if  TYOLUPA  ne ' '.
      WORKPERMIT = 'X'.
    endif.

  • How to create table from another in pl/sql

    Hi I need to create a table from another in pl/sql
    How can I do this

    The proper way to do this, is not to do it in PL/SQL. But do it in SQL, something like:
    create table tbl
    as
    select *
      from other_tbl;Doing it in PL/SQL is really slow compared to SQL.
    Yes, if you really want to create a table using PL/SQL then you will need to use DBMS_SQL or EXECUTE IMMEDIATE (Native Dynamic SQL) to do this.

    I try to create xyz.xml file in xyz(folder name) itself, how can if be
    Thanking you,
    RaviVarma.K

    I'm not sure what you are trying to do but you seem to need
            File f = new File("the path of the file you want to create");
            f.getParentFile().mkdirs();No need to make the mkdirs() conditional since it will only make the directories if they don't exist.

    What other grants do i need to give so as to replicate the Primary Keys also...????That's not a matter of grants. It's the way the CREATE TABLE AS SELECT statement works. It does not copy over indexes, primary key constraints, unique constraints, foreign key constraints, etc.
    If you want to copy all that over, you would probably want to get the DDL from the original table (using the DBMS_METADATA package if you're in a recent version), modify the DDL with the new schema name, create the table, indexes, and constraints, and then do an INSERT ... SELECT to populate the data. Or do an export & import of the table from one schema to another.

  • How to create a new request for whole Package.

    Dear All,
    I have an unique requirement. we have a system, where developement have been done in phases with different Requests of A Package.
    Now we need to apply same package/project on different system. But unable to list/gather all change request of developement. Now, is there any option to make a request for whole package or export whole package (Table, transaction, Program, class, objects etc. Everything of this package) and then theni import into another system.
    Regards
    Dharmendra

    A suggestion:
    In Se80, display the package.  Right-click on the displayed package name and choose write transport entry. Choose "package".   Create the new transport as a "Transport of copies".  Choose your target and client as part of your copy request.
    BTW, SE80, select object, right click, write transport entry is an easy way to create a new transport for anything you need transported although not changed, such as an entire function group, etc.
