How to create .ear file in JDeveloper 10g

Hi, I am new to Jdeveloper. I am using JDeveloper 10g. I have created one project abc.jws under which there are five .jpr folders(DTO.jpr,persistence.jpr,service.jpr,util.jpr,ViewController.jpr). I want to create .ear file for the whole project so that it can be directly put in the production environment. When I right click on the abc.jws and select New, the EAR option under deployment profiles is disabled. I would highly appreciate if someone can help me on this.
Thanks.

Hi Rexy,
See if the steps given in [this link|http://download.oracle.com/otndocs/tech/ias/portal/files/RG/OBE/deployToAppServer/lesson_Deployment.htm#t3s3] helps

  • How to Create EAR file thorugh JDEVELOPER 10.1.3.4

    Hi,
    I am working on struts database application using JDEVELOPER 10.1.3.4. Earlier i was working On JDeveloper 10.1.2.x version. There i used to create an ear file through Deployment Profile and was quite easy for me to deploy an ear file.
    But when i use the same method with JDeveloper 10.1.3.4, and try to deploy .ear file on server, it give me error base Exception jar file /tmp/ft4583.tmp.ear is missing its standard xml descrtor loacted at META-INF/application.xml.
    Please help me.
    Thanx in advance
    Regards
    Dhananjay

    The process should be the same - however there are specific things you'll need to do if you are trying to deploy from JDev 10.1.3 to OAS 10.1.2.
    For example: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32110_01/web.1013/b25947/deployment_topics.htm#CIHGIAAE

  • How to create Application Workspace with Jdeveloper 10g 1.3.2?

    Following the instructions in "Developing and Using ADF Faces Skins", I am trying to create an Application Workspace.
    The instruction says: "In JDeveloper, create a new Application workspace and name it - ADFFaces_skin_sample"
    I can not find the way to create Application workspace with Jdeveloper 10g 1.3.2.
    Because when I click FILE==>New I got "New Gallery--Application" in left, in right only got "Application, Empty project, File, Java Class, Java Interface". There is no "workspace" item.
    I try to use Jdeveloper 10g 1.3.1, got same result.
    I found other ADF Skin training samples. All of them asked to create Application Workspace. But the Jdeveloper version used by all those samples were earlier than 10g 10.1.3.2
    Please let know how to create "Application Workspace"?

    What used to be "Application Workspace" in 10.1.2 is "Application" in 10.1.3.2

  • How to create a "pjc" using jdeveloper 10g

    Hi guys
    I am trying to make my first pjc (pluggable java component) using jdeveloper (default installation with Oracle developer 10g). I was following the [Jdeveloper 9 documentation||http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/index-087743.html] from OTN and got stuck once after creating the PJC1.java
    According to the documentation, the property inspector should allow me to change various properties for the newly created .java file and let me add new events with the events tab. In my case, once after I select the java item from UI, the property inspector doesn't show anything. No tabs for properties or events :O
    If somebody could point me towards Oracle documentation for Jdeveloper 10g, it would grateful.
    regards,
    raj

    Oracle jDeveloper 10.1.2.1.0 was the last version the inclued the Forms PJC Wizards. All versions after this didn't include them. You can actually develop a PJC using any IDE, but I have found using the PJC Wizard to be extreamly helpful. Java is not my strongest skill and I don't do a lot of Java PJC development so I keep this version installed for when I need to work on PJCs.
    Craig...Thank you Craig. We are with Oracle ERP R12 from 2009 June and almost all our legacy applications were either made a part of the ERP suite, or hosted with Weblogic server 10.3.6. As leading the development team, my biggest challenge is making the custom applications migrated to 11g forms/Reports "behave" exactly like the ERP suite.
    We wanted to design a parameter screen for the reports, almost like with ERP Suite, where the parameter columns are dynamically created during runtime and the biggest challenge was to limit the MAXIMUM LENGTH for those columns, thus started our venture to find an appropriate solution. After spending almost 20 years in the field of software development, I just didn't want to copy a jar file from the web and get over with it. Instead I wanted to understand what the codes do.
    Anyway, Francois was kind enough to provide the .java with his pjc blog and I created a new pjc based on this .java code :) and my objective was satisfied. If Oracle really wants to "kill" the forms/reports, I think they just should do that, instead of removing few highly sought components with so called "Newer versions"
    Ridiculously the documentation library for JDeveloper 10.1.0 is empty, even though it is listed with Oracle documentation library.
    Cheers guys

  • How to get built.xml for ear file in jdeveloper?

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper to create EAR file for my ADF Fusion Application. I think Jdeveloper use ant to create EAR file. I know how to get built.xml for my war file.
    Can anyone tell how to get that built.xml that create EAR file in Jdeveloper.?

    This blog explains:
    http://adfhowto.blogspot.com/2011/03/ojdeploy-deploying-adf-application-from.html
    Based on the blog, I simply copied an existing project "deploy" target definition and augmented the project's build.xml with a new target "deployApp" that omits the Project parameter to ojdeploy. This causes ojdeploy to build the workspace-level deploy profile instead. I also omitted the output directory parameter (default is app's /deploy folder) and assume that there is only one application deployment profile (i.e. the default for profile parameter is the '*' wildcard). You can augment the build.properties file if you need to get fancier than that.
    <target name="deployApp" description="Deploy Complete YourFoo Application"
    depends="init">
    <taskdef name="ojdeploy"
    classname="oracle.jdeveloper.deploy.ant.OJDeployAntTask"
    uri="oraclelib:OJDeployAntTask"
    classpath="${oracle.jdeveloper.ant.library}"/>
    <ora:ojdeploy xmlns:ora="oraclelib:OJDeployAntTask"
    executable="${oracle.jdeveloper.ojdeploy.path}"
    ora:buildscript="${oracle.jdeveloper.deploy.dir}/ojdeploy-build.xml"

    <ora:parameter name="workspace"
    value="${oracle.jdeveloper.workspace.path}"/>
    <ora:parameter name="profile"
    value="${oracle.jdeveloper.deploy.profile.name}"/>
    <ora:parameter name="nocompile" value="true"/>
    </ora:deploy>
    </ora:ojdeploy>
    </target>

  • Need build.xml to create Ear file using Ant in jdeveloper 11g??

    Hi all,
    I think Jdeveloper use ANT to create Ear file and how to get build.xml from Jdeveloper.
    1) I have created ADF Fusion web Application having separte Model and View Controller.
    2) Now when I select View Controller project and then i create New ant-> Build.xml i get the required build.xml which can be used to create war file for my View Controller project.
    3) Similarly when I select Model project and then i create New ant-> Build.xml i get the required build.xml which can be used to create Jarfile for my Model project.
    4) If I select my application and then i click deploy... I'm able to create my ear file having both war file for View Controller and Jar File for Model.
    5) But I dont know how to get built.xml file which will create ear file having both View Controller and Model in it.
    Thanks a lot....

    However note the generated Ant script includes unnecessary targets. See the following blog post: http://one-size-doesnt-fit-all.blogspot.com/2010/11/using-ojdeploy-and-ant-for-creating-adf.html

  • How to create pdf files in UNIX directory from oracle reports

    I would like to know how to create pdf files in UNIX directory from oracle reports.
    Thanks,

    Please make your question more clear . Also mention the reports version.
    1) If you are runnning reports in Unix, you can give
    .... destype=file desformat=pdf desname=<filename>
    in command line
    Please refer docs below.
    2) If by your question you mean
    "My reports server is running in Windows but I want to ftp my files to Unix after creating it"
    then the answer is that you can use pluggable destination "ftp"
    .... destype=ftp desformat=pdf desname=<ftp url>
    Pluggable destinations download

    Hi
    Rookie to this ADF 11g Framework and during the exploring of ADF 11g gone through ADF essentials in OTN and i did sample application of ANT build script and in the ADF Essentials of Ant i came across creating build.xml,build.properties and finally creating WAR file and currently i want to create EAR file so that EAR file can be deployed to my oracle Weblogic server.But ADF Essentials of ANT is totally confined to build.xml,build.properties,WAR file only ! Can any one suggest me the template build.xml of EAR file of any Sample Application so that i can come across what are the patterns,jars,excluded names,included names of EAR .
    Thanks In Advance,
    Regards
    RK

    RK,
    There are a few options. If I were doing this today, I'd just use ojdeploy (and the ojdeploy ANT task) to create the EAR file with a minimum of fuss (refer to the JDeveloper docs for more information).
    If you wanted to create an EAR file using the same technique that I used in the ADF Development Essentials article, just follow the same techniques - create an EAR file using JDeveloper and unzip it to discover the structure of what it should look like.
    Best,
    John

  • How to build ear files for ADF application using Ant task

    How to build ear files for ADF applications using Ant. The ojdeploy ant task can not find application-level deployment profiles. I am trying to automated build and release for ADF application.

    Thanks

    Hi Timo
    Thanks for your reply.
    I have successfully created ear file using ojdeploy on jenkins. however when am trying to auto deploy using WLDeploy ant task am getting the following
    error :
    weblogic.application.ModuleException: :oracle.mds.config.MDSConfigurationException:MDS-01335: namespace "/oracle/webcenter/quicklinks/scopedMD" mapped to metadata-store-usage "WebCenterFileMetadataStore" but its definition was not found in MDS configuration
    Please advise how to handle this.
    As am a newbie to ADF, could you please advise if it is possible for the ADF application deployments can be automated for different environments using jenkins due to this MDS dependencies.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks
    Shiva

  • I am working in windows 7 and I am trying to enable the copy/paste and I can not find user.j file in the profile and I am not real sure how to create a file, I can create a folder .

    I am trying to copy text from a word document and paste it into my web builder and it says that firefox does not support copy/paste from clipboard. Went to your site and it tells me to open the user.j file in my profile. This file does not exist and I am not real sure how to create that file so I can paste the fix from your site into it.

    I went to that link and added to firefox add on but it still does not work. I went to the add on option button for this but it told me that my MYSIWG widget was disabled. Does this have something to do with it not working and if so how do you enable it.

  • How to create txt file in utf-8?

    Hi,
    if i create a txt file using vb in fdm, it is created with the ansi encoding. Is there any option how to create this file in utf-8?
    Thx

    Forms6i uses Oracle 8.0.6 client libraries. MetaLink Note 207303.1 lists supported client/server configurations, and the last database version supported with those libraries is Oracle 9.2. The only exception is made for e-Business Suite (Oracle Applications). Therefore, you configuration is not supported.
    Anyway, Oracle 8.0.6 does not support AL32UTF8 well. You should select UTF8 as the database character set (not national character set!). You need to select a check box on DBCA interface (possibly unavailable in fast/default installation path) which allows you to see non-recommended character sets.
