How to create storage locations in a standalone scenario??

Hello everybody,
I need some help. I'm working with SRM 5.0. I'm making a standalone scenario. When I created the organizational plan, in the check tab, a error appears. The message is: "Define the attribute LAG". The attribute LAG is the storage location, in the extended attributes tab. I've tried defining this attribute but I couldn't.
Does anybody know how to create storage locations in a standalone scenario??

Look at this thread:

Storage loc is useless in a standalone scenario.
The "Check" tab makes a generic check on attributes needed for each business scenario, but does not check the integration scenario.
So you can get rid of this error message.
You can even deactivate this check on this particular attribute in table BBPV_APPL (SM30), for Confirmation & SC applications.

First :- You can define the storage loctions in the plant under the customization :- SPRO -> Enterprise Structure ->Definition -> Materials Management ->Maintain storage location
Once defined under the plant, you can create the same storage locations in the material master
Second :- Under SPRO -> MM -> Inventory -> palnt parameters, for your plant check the field " Create Storage locations Automatically" . This will lead to create new storage locations at the time of GR, even if you have not maintained under step 1.

Create storage location automatically for movement type 261

Hi Experts,
Currently we're inprocess of implementing "create storage location automatically" for reservation, and I've done with the configuration for both reservation side (Define Default Values) and movement type side (GI/transfer posting - Create Storage Location Automatically).
For movement type 201, new storage location successfully extended/created using T-Code MB21 (Create Reservation). But we found an error message while conducting the same thing for movement type 261 (which only can be created using T-Code IW31 (Create material reservation form Work Order).
Did we missed any required configuration? Pls kindly advice on what we should do.

Here's the current situation,
We configured the plant/storage view (SPRO), most of materials already extended to desired plant and storage location. Commonly, we can extend or create any materials for certain plant and/or storage location by maitain material master data (using T-Code MM01).
Recently, we develop the additional configuration to activate "automatic create storage location" for reservation, aligning with the movement type for Goods Issue (201,221,261,301,etc).
Let's say we have material number 123456789 and currently assigned to plant YYYY, but not extended to storage location XXXX. By performing T-Code MB21 (create reservation) with movement type 201 inputted, the respective material (123456789) is automatically created for the XXXX storage location.
But the above condition is not effected while performing the same thing using T-Code IW31 (create material reservation via Work Order) with movement type 261 (GI for Order).
Any idea to perform create storage location automatically while creating reservation for movement type 261? is there any possible configuration or procedure to be added?

This is the case for, if you work with negative stocks and a material's first movement may be an outward movement that is Goods issue or Transfer posting.
If the material master record is not extended to the storage location which is giving at the time of goods issue / transpfer posting, system won't allow to post the document. First you have to maintain material master record for that SL, then only system will allow postings.
In such cases if the material master record is not created for the storagelocation, SAP having facility like that system can update / create SL data for that materila master record automatically by the system during GI / TP postings.
For that you have to activate SL Create automatically checkbox aganist Plant as well as Movement type. You have activate in both the settings, then only system will update/create SL data in the MMR.
If the Negative postings allowed means eventhough stock is not there, system will allow to issue stock and inventory will show with negative sign.
For ex: Stock is zero. You have issue 25 with the movement type 201, system will allow to issue the stock. But inventory will show -25 for that material (Check in MMBE).
This is case for, if you work with negative stocks and a material's first movement may be an outward movement that is Goods issue or Transfer posting. Then only these setting will helpful.

To attach a functional location to an equipment, please make sure the following settings,
1- You have defined the installation allowed at functional location for the following equipment category.
2- Make sure status of your equipment is AVLB not ESTO.
then Goto IE02 in the structure tab ---> click change installation location and install the functional location.

How to get Storage Location and Vendor details in MD03 automatically

Hi folks,
We want to create automatic PR and PO from Planned Order.
But when PR gets created in MD03, the values for Purchase organization, Storage Location and fixed vendor are blank, even after maintaining source list with fixed vendor .
How to populate these values automatically ?

If you are creating the orders using MRP, you should make sure that the field MRP is set to 1 on the source list. The field 'fixed vendor' is not relevant to MRP. When the vendor is selected from the source list, the purchasing organization should be also copied to the purchase requisition.
The storage location will be copied from the respective field on the material master tab MRP2.

How to set storage location in iMovie 10?

iMovie refuses to import my video files and instead gives the following error message: "No storage location set: Cannot start ingest because there is not storage location set. Please set one under Storage in Preferences and try again." However, when I select iMovie Preferences, there are only two possible commands (Clip: Apply slow-motion automatically) and (Theater: Automatically upload content to iCloud [grayed out]) neither of which appear particularly helpful in this context. In any case, when I import single clips these are "automatically" stored in updated projects, so why will this not work more generally? Many thanks

I've been able to store the contents of my camcorder on the Mac's HD. I've tried importing the clips from there and get the same result, whether I try to import one or several clips at once, it replies with the same error message as to the missing storage location/instructions. Interestingly, it will nonetheless import the first (or only) one of the clips that I highlight on the import screen.
When you suggest dragging the files, from where do you mean? The clips per se don't appear in the finder, but only on the import page. The finder show only various fragmented files that aren't complete clips (eg. separate video and index, even sound files), which is too much of a pain to deal with...
It's true that my original iMovie library was created from an upgrade, but I have since deleted the contents and attempted to reload the clips. Are you suggesting deleting the library completely and starting again, or should I just try creating another event and using that? Don't see why that shoudl work better than "updated projects", but perhaps it's worth a try...

As per my understanding, Creation of Storage Location is Client Specific and does require a Customizing Request to be assigned. So, I think we cannot avoid the Customizing Request.

I would like to know if and how to define the storage location in my Nokia lumia 820.
I have recently purchased a micro SD card by Kingston and would like to download and install apps, like games who require more storage then my Nokia 820 supports(8GB).
I saw that the only available option set is to choose the the storage for music + videos and pictures from settings/phone storage but no option set could be found for the apps or others.
Please help me with some guidelines or with a proper workaround as I tried unsuccessfully to find the understanding for this in various resources.

You can't install applications, Games on the SD Card. Only other thing that you may save on the SD Card is the Maps ..but you need THIS application. Need to log-in using the same credentials that you use on this forum to download it ...

   If you want to default it based on plant, you may maintain the storage loc for external procurement in MRP2 view as shown below:
    The same will be defaulted when the plant is entered in the PO. If you change the plant in PO, the storage location maintained in the MRP view of that plant will be defaulted in the PO. You may test the scenario and revert back. Please note that the same storage location will be defaulted for all external procurement.
    Also, I hope the users will be creating PO for the particular plant only. If so, maintain the storage location in the personal settings - default values tab. Then the particular storage location will be always defaulted in ME21N for the particular user. You may choose any of the options.

       There is a requirement to do a mass creation of storage locations. While creating a storage location, I have to upload data such as
1) Address realted data for storage location(Name, streetm Postal code,city
2) storage type, storage section, print params from storage location
3) WM connect, MRP, fixed bin assignment
    Is there any BAPI that suits this requirement.
What is the tcode for storage location creation and updation of this data.

            In OX09 tcode on the left pane, if the 'Address of storage locations' is selected, I got a list with a field labelled 'No.' Is that the address number? Where do I need to update the street/houseno, postal code, city details etc.

In FDQM how will you create the locations? Other than manually how will you create locations?

Why?
The point of the API is to give you a 'black box' hook into the application without you having to really understand how it does it's work. Assuming you make the proper API calls, they will create everything properly.
Nothing wrong with using the API, that's why it is there.
