How to create user groups in portal

I am new to portal..can any one explain how to create a group and add the users to that group.

Go to "user administration"-> Identitiy management place "Groups" in the Search Criteria then you will see the options for creating NEw Group
at the time of Group creation there is a tab for Assigned users from there you can add users.
Or you select the user name and click on modify and select Assigned groups and assign your group.

How to create master group in Portal - Segment Builder?

Hi All,
May i know how to create master group by using existing target group in segment builder PCUI in portal?
I manage to do it in sapgui:
tc: crmd_mktseg_mgr -> create new master group -> assign existing target group -> execute button -> master group is created.
I tried in portal: click on segment builder tab -> search existing profile set -> open existing profile set -> click on target group tab -> mark one of target groups -> click on Master group button -> save changes -> go back to sapgui crmd_mktseg_mgr -> search for all the master groups -> i dun see result that i did in portal.
Can guide me on this?

How to create users group under jazn realm

I am in need to create two groups of users under jazn.com realm. From my knowledge I have checked Enterprise Manager console. There is no option to create users group. What I have to do to create new users group. Please
suggest that.

check <Soasuite_home>\j2ee\oc4j_soa\config\system-jazn-data.xml. Add the role(your role name is your group name) and add the users to that group.
You can do this from em, but if you want to add the properties like phone number, mail details, then you will need to change in the file.

I have to create 100 groups for each course,and each course has a admin user.Each group has some workflows .These workflow can only be viewed by some users.
Can i import user name and password from a .txt file and do the work automatically?
It is a hard work if i do it manually.

I'm not sure you want to import users to use the magic triangle properly. I think importing creates 'Augmented Records' - the user icons have blue dots.
The principle is this…
Bind the server to Active Directory (AD) & create an Open Directory master (OD). This can be done from Server Admin, in the OD section, via the change button.
Then you use Workgroup Manager, set the viewing directory (tiny little globe in top left) to use LDAP records on the server - LDAPv3/127.0.0.1. Authenticate (lock on right of toolbar) add a group, then switch to to its Members tab, click + Then change the user list to show the AD records & add the AD users to the OD group. It sounds weird & wrong, but it is how it works.
You are never modifying the AD records, just assigning a group to the users in OD. It's why the clients need to bind to AD & OD.
From there you can set the Managed prefs (MCX) for the members of the OD group. It also helps to add a guest computer account to OD to assign computer prefs based on the macs that bind to the server - it's in the File menu when you select the computes list in OD.
I hope that's clear, not sure I can help with the other tasks, but they tend to fall into place once you have the complex start in place.

I am trying to configure the Adobe Service in WAS.As part of this process,i supposed to create the Hroup Called "ADSCallers".In document it suggested to go Servcer>Services>Security Provider.In that i selected UserManagement Engine Tab,but there "Create User","Create Group" buttons are disabled.so how to enable it so that i can create the groups/users there.please help

How to create User Groups

I would like to understand the steps for creating an User Group. I am currently doing SAP-HR configuration activities in Sandbox client & for the purpose of testing I have created an infogroup for "Hiring" action. But the action is not appearing in PA40. I realized later that I was doing some mistakes in assigning the user groups. So, I would like to create a user group. Is it an activity to be done by the BASIS consultant or can anyone create the user and user group in Sandbox environment.

You have to define the user group while creating Infotype menu and Action.
For infotype menu- V_T588B.
Action- V_T588D- Action.
Define the same user group for infotype menu adn action. Once it done then maintain the same user group against your user parameters.
Go to transaction code su01( if you have the authorization or talk to your basis guy)
Enter you user id (which you used to login your SAP )
Click on parameters tab and maintain your user group there, like
UGR- for Eg. 40( what you have defined in infotype menu and action.

EasyDMS - How to create user groups?

we are using ERP2005 and EasyDMS SP08(Unicode). We like to use user groups from the authorization tab to implement authorizations on folders and document.
We can create a user group in EasyDMS, but if we assign this to a document it is said that the user group doesn't exist.
I have assumed that we have to create the user groups in tcode EASYDMS_CUS before but that doesn't work either.
Has anybody an idea?

Hereby a simple question but urgent, that is, how to create a group in portal which includes several roles. For exemple a group for manager contented the roles for managers and another group for employees. Thus it simplifies the role assignment for any user.

to create a group and assigining the roles to the group, you will need the userAdministrator role in the portal.
1.Go to userAdministrator role.
2.click on group workset and create a new Group
3.click on Role workset and search the role which you want to assign to the group.
4.edit the role and add your group to this role.
5.click on save button.

I check with package wwsec_api, it just have 'function
add_portal_user', but it say we must have "the user must already exist in OID before this function is called."
So, i checked for 'how to create User in OID'. What i got (in metalink)just methods that 'Create manually Portal Users in to OID' by LDAP or PL/SQL coding (with list of user in flat files).
What i want to do is, How to create User POrtal in OID by JSP? What are the procedure/table/method involved?

How to enable create user option in portal under user administration?

If the AS ABAP is your datasource for your users there is NO WAY you can create users in the portal UME.
● If the UME has read-only access, you cannot modify user attributes stored in the ABAP system, like first name and last name. You can modify attributes stored in the UME database, like street. Even if read-only access is assigned, users can still change their own passwords.
● If the UME has read-write access, you can create users using the tools of the J2EE Engine. Users created in this way are stored as users in the ABAP system. Extended user data that cannot be stored in the standard ABAP user record is stored in the database of the UME.
in the read/write access the users are created only in the ABAP side and not the java. If you have the read access you cannot create users in the abap side. hence you need the SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION role to create users in the AS ABAP.....
Trust me .......bottomline ....you cannot create users in the JAVA UME if you have AS ABAP as your datasource !!!!
