Edit Link on Interactive Report
I have an Interactive report with the edit link on each record to call a form. Is it possible for the edit link to show on specific records (instead of all)? I have a security requirement where the users shouldn't be allowed to edit (go the maintenance form) certain records.
I'm not sure if u're talking about default link?
If yes u can ignore that one and try to insert Your own image or link as ' a href=... text /a ' as Link
in a href U can use javascript, or write page url - it should work
and now answer about Your question - "text" can be inside decode or nvl (nvl2) function where u can combinate with all kind of sql functionality (as query) to specify when it should show text or when it should show null (when it's null U can't clisk on this.
edit: or as Roel wrote ;) - more easier way -

How to hide edit link for some rows in report? (according to value of col)
Helo,
How to hide edit link for some rows in report? (according to value of column)
regards
siyavuşHi siyavuş
You can do this by taking the edit link off the report and putting it into your report SQL.
Use something like Select CASE WHEN (condition) THEN
'Put your edit link in here as an html Anchor like<a href="(target)">Edit</a>'
ELSE
tt.value
END edit_link
FROM test_table tthope it helps,

Changing the default edit icon of interactive reports
Hi,
I have tried to look around to find a place to set the default edit icon of interactive reports and I cant seem to find it.
Another thing is: What would be the best practice to change the icon to a new image that is NOT part of the apex installation? Right now we have 8 icons to choose from, which are all located in apex image library. Its not even located in the theme. So if I just overwrite the current default icon it would be overwritten again next time I upgrade apex.bjarkekr wrote:

Create a style sheet and include it in all required page templates:
.apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA td[headers="LINK"] a img {
display: none;
.apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA td[headers="LINK"] a:link,
.apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA td[headers="LINK"] a:visited {
display: block;
/* Change dimensions to size of your icon */
height: 18px;
width: 18px;
/* Change URL to location of your icon */
background: transparent url(/i/ws/small_page.gif) no-repeat;
}This removes the edit icon specified in the IR attributes and replaces it by showing whatever icon you want as a background image on the link element. This allows you to change the icon universally for all IRs by making a simple change to the dimensions/background image URL in one place. -
The edit Link on my report form opens the page to create a new record.
For some reason my applications edit link on the report form is opening a new blank entry instead of pulling the data that needs edited from that row. I just have a basic report and form. Where can I check this Edit button to see if it is linking to the existing data?
I found my problem my select statement had the primary key column removed some how.

Substitution for DB link in Interactive report
Hi,
Is it possible to use substitution strings for DB link in Interactive report in same way like it works in Classic reports (by choosing Generic column) or in any other way.
Currently when i'm trying to put SQL like :
select empno, empname from emp@&DB_LINK.
I receiving the error •Query cannot be parsed, please check the syntax of your query. (ORA-02019: connection description for remote database not found)
APEX 4.1, Oracle 11.2It is possible. We have an application that uses the same code set (pages) where the user can select which target instance will be used at run time.
The trick is that the DB link substitution variable must contain the "@" character. So your query looks like:
select ...
from my_table&TARGET.
where...
&TARGET. must be something like "@my_database" .
At compile time, &TARGET. will be null, and the table name can be resolved, if there really is a table, my_table in your parsing schema, or a vaild synonym.
You can have a synonym available at "compile" time, when you save the page source. For example, the synonym my_table equates to my_table@your_database, which has to exist.
There several other things that must be done, but this should get you started. -
How to Disable edit option in Logon pad
Hi,
How to disable edit option in logon pad
thanksActually if you are looking to disable the "Edit" option so end users cannot change or modify the existing Logon Pad options systems, you can.
What version are you using for SAP GUI?
7.10 has icons to the right which allow changes. (New, edit, etc)
7.20 has icons across the toolbar at the top. (pencil, paper, trashcan)
For both versions, Navigate to C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui (Default location)
In there you will find 2 executeables:
saplgpad.exe
saplogon.exe
If you run the saplogon.exe it will allow edit, delete and modify
If you run the saplgpad.exe:
On the 7.10 version the buttons are gone.
On the 7.20 version, the buttons are grayed out.
Hope this is what you are looking for.

How to remove the edit icon in interactive report?
Hi All,
I am using the Customer Tracker 1.1 sample and I would like to remove the edit icon on the Customers list. (Instead I would like the Customer name to be the link itself).
However, nothing I do on the reports properties seems to have any effect on this icon!
I have even remove the A.ID column from the underlying SQL query but I still see the little pencil!
Any ideas?
Regards,
Pawel.Sorry for the spam!
I just discovered the whole new section in the Interactive Report - Link Column - just needed to exlude the link.

How to pass ITEM:VALUE pair in ICON view link of Interactive Report
When Icon View is enabled in an interactive report, you can display graphic images (blob data that are stored in the database) in 3 different views.
1) View Icons
2) View Report
3) View Detail
When you click on the displayed image in views 1 and 3 you navigate to a form to manage the row data and the image. By default it only passes the PK id of the row.
How do I pass additional ITEM:VALUE pairs when navigating to the detail form page? I want to pass &APP_PAGE_ID. to the form page as well.
There is an attribute under ICON VIEW called "Link Column" but if I put the "item:value" pair in the fields for this item's "ColumnLink" attributes, there is no effect.
Also for bonus points...
how do you make the ICON VIEW attributes, "HTML ALT Text" and "HTML TITLE Text" dynamic e.g. &ITEM. doesn't work here.
thanks in advance
Paul PFor your link column, parse a link column in your query like so
apex_util.prepare_url('f?p=M:53:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::P53_IMAGE_ID:'||i.image_id)Scott -
Hello,
According to the Calc Manager Designer Guide 11.1.2.3 and my testing :
- Planning administrators can edit the calc manager rules deployed into their Planning application
- Planning interactive users can create their own calc manager rules in their Planning application
But according to our IT governance, they should not be able to do it and specially in a production environment (and they were not able to do it in Planning 11.1.1 with HBR).
Any idea or trick to disable Planning administrators and interactive users to create or edit calc manager rules in their application ?
Thanks in advance.
PhilippeWell as far i Know....
- Planning administrators can edit the calc manager rules deployed into their Planning application ---Its aspected , as admin have to maintain the application and nothing wrong in that....
- Planning interactive users can create their own calc manager rules in their Planning application--They can create thir own rules only when they have proper access to calc mgr..if you don't have given access to calc mgr then they can't.....
Cheers!

Can I link from Interactive report Page 1 to Master Detail page 2?
Hi folks-
I know how to create a Page as an Interactive Report; it creates 2 pages automatically (primary page with the great interactive bar) and a 2nd page that's a single record.
I know how to create a Page as Master Detail, whereby I get a tabular list without the super interactive bar, and I can select a record, and get transported to a nice page with 2 regions (master on top, detail on bottom).
I want to have the First page from the Interactive Report, select the record, and go to the 2nd page of a MasterDetail.
Do I create the Interactive Report, and customize the 2nd page, to add a region?
Or, do I create both page types, and redirect from the 1st page of the Interactive Report to the DML Form from the MD report? I tried that, re-assigning the link from the Interactive Report to be a Link to Custom Target, and specify the page # of the Master-Detail page. And it is taking me to the right page, but the data from the selected row is not coming with me, and the detail in the bottom region is not appearing at all.
Can someone please give me a nudge as to the sequence I should be doing?
(As you can tell, I'm new to Apex.... I'm trying to use it to create a prototype or proof-of-concept for a database driven web application)
Thank you
MarionYes, I tried that after I wrote to you - and it's fine, but not what I'm after; it's only based on 1 table and I'm working with 2 tables.
Perhaps I can explain in better.
I want one page as an interactive tabular report (of the master records)
I want to select a row, and transfer to a page that has the corresponding row on top (as a form), and a tabular region below of records from a related detail table.
ie, I want page 1 from the Interactive Report, and page 2 of the Master Detail report.
OK - I just took the form page, and added a region below in a tabular report. And I'm getting the data, but I'm getting all the records (not just the ones associated with the single record on top. I figure I need to edit the Region Definition->Source (to specify that the id numbers need to match), but the code is not editable.....
So I am in Structured Query Attributes, and I've Modified the Join Conditions - but I still get all the detail records in the bottom region. I''m trying to add in the ( + ) qualifier, but it doesn't affect anything...
I'm soo close to what i'm trying to do!
Thank you for your continued patience and assistance
Marion
here's the Source I have for the region..... (I'm including the excess ID columns just for learning purposes)
SELECT
"PHONENUMBERS"."PHONE_ENTITY_ID" "PHONE_ENTITY_ID",
"ENTITIES"."ENTITY_ID" "ENTITY_ID",
"ENTITIES"."FIRSTNAME" "FIRSTNAME",
"ENTITIES"."LASTNAME" "LASTNAME",
"ENTITIES"."COMPANY" "COMPANY",
"PHONENUMBERS"."PHONE_ID" "PHONE_ID",
"PHONENUMBERS"."PHONETYPE" "PHONETYPE",
"PHONENUMBERS"."PHONENUMBER" "PHONENUMBER",
"PHONENUMBERS"."PHONECOMMENT" "PHONECOMMENT"
FROM
"PHONENUMBERS",
"ENTITIES"
WHERE ENTITIES.ENTITY_ID = PHONENUMBERS.PHONE_ENTITY_ID

How to modify standard or custom Interactive Reports
Hello everyone!
Is there a possibility to modify SAP standard Interactive Reports? Where can this be done?
Also if I create a new custom Interactive Report using Wizard in WebUI I don't find any transaction where I can modify it. Should I use some SAP GUI transaction to do this? Or even BEX Analyzer? Perhaps there is SAP Documentation about how to do it but I wasn't able to find it.
Many thanks in advance for any help! Kind regards,
SashaSasha
To do this, you need to be logged in with the ANALYTICSPRO business role (standard). Once you access the web UI you will have the option to Search reports. Doing this will show you both the standard reports and the ones modified by you. If you want to modify the SAP delivered reports, select the report, click the Copy button and then rename it etc. You then walk through the wizard and make the changes you need.
You can also modify the ones you created by clicking on Edit.
Once you have created your new reports, go to t-code ordywb, then make sure the Show Custom Reports checkbox is clicked. This will show you the identifier for your custom report - this is what you put against your logical link in the nav bar profile to enable the users to run the reports.
Hope this helps!
