How to display the portal iView in Favorites screen without content role

Hi,
I created some T-iView containing some Z-report. Now my requirement is without giving any portal role how it will display in portal favorite screen(left side of the portal main screen) so user can directly see the preview of the iview containing customize report?

1) first check your portal desktop which frame work it is using.
By default we use default framework page.
It can be found in the path Content admin->portal content. in pcd content navigate to content provided by SAP-> end user content
There you can find the default framework page
open that and check the desktop inner page and click open
remove the portal favorites iviews and put your own iview there.
My suggestion is make a copy of your default framework page and customize it and use this framework page in the portal desktop
Search for customizing the default framework page and desktop in SDN. you will get lot of links

Hello Charles.
A standard way is a modification of the Portal name which is displayed in a title bar of a browser's window. For this you have to edit the Central Configuration:
1. Open System Administration > System Configuration > Service Configuration;
2. In Browse Tab open Portal Runtime > Central Configuration;
3. Locate and modify portal.html.head.title property.
4. Save changes.
5. Restart portal server.

I am using Microsoft ASP.NET TreeView control where I have bound embedded images. Also I have set custom header “x-content-type-options” as
“nosniff” in web.config file.
On hosting the sample containing the above mentioned things in SERVER machine, the images are not visible but its working properly while running sample in local (development) machine.

I think this may work,
1, Create a HTML Layout.
    You can put your image wherever u want with HTML Codes.

    With this, u can use the standard KM commands also.
2, U need to use KM Navigation iView for this rather than KM Doc iView.
3, In the Nav iView, u can use &rndLayoutSet=nameOfUrHTMLLayout to force the view with this new layout.

How to find the ABAP Webdynpro Component Name in the Portal IView(WDA)

I got one ABAP Webdynpro IView in portal , when i opened the Iview i got the Application name of ABAP Webdynpro in the properties of the Iview but i could not able to find the component name .
Please let me know how to find the component name of WDA , as i already got the Application name of component from Iview i.e WDA_ED_RDF ( this is applicaiton name found in the portal Iview for ABAP Webdynpro)

Right Click on any UI Element in Portal->Go to more field help->TEchical Information. You can see all the information about component, application, ui elements etc.

I think, you can't do this using iview templates. But you can do this using portal component iview. For that, you have to write one java program which should read the contents of the input file and displays in the internet browser itself.

I try to make page that displays content that resides somewhere else in my portal, so I can give a summarization of some hot topics. I really want to display the whole content of some regions (not a display with custom search).

Set that page as portlet, include it in a region in another page and in the edit defaults decide which regions you want to display.

1. Open the SAP NetWeaver Administrator by either of the following methods:
       a. Use the URL to your AS Java (hostname:port) to access the AS Java home page and use the link to SAP NetWeaver Administrator.
       b. Alternatively, add nwa to the AS Java URL to access SAP NetWeaver Administrator directly. (hostname:port/nwa).
2 Go to   Operations Management   Systems   and click the Start & Stop link.
    The Start & Stop: Java EE Instances window opens.
3 Click the Java EE Application bar and select the relevant application in the Application List.
    The Portal Services pane displays the services associated with the selected application.
4 Use the buttons Start Service or Stop Service.

1, Set one dynamic parameter,
2, Drag and drop that parameter into your report title.
3, Pass the value(sort value) dynamically from your application,
4, Cheers..
Other wise Try with Dataset, create a dataset and fill thev alue into that.. Then set the data source from CR designer. and darg and drop that data column into the report.
