The iTunes store app is a built-in app it can't be deleted nor downloaded. If you can't find it on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen, then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > iTunes being set 'off' ?

How often does iTunes store update podcast feed?

I've been producing a weekly podcast for six weeks now. My mp3s are hosted on archive.org and I post them on Tumblr. Feedburner pulls the tumblr feed, and iTunes pulls the Feedburner feed. Feedburner usually updates within ten minutes of any new posts or changes I make on Tumblr, and usually, the iTunes podcast page updates just as quickly. Then sometimes, like today, hours go by and I see no update in iTunes and I get paranoid that I did something wrong and wonder if I need to delete and start over again.
I follow the same formula every week with my posts, so I don't believe anything I've done is incorrect (I'm always careful remember to remove the "s" from "https://" which gave me problems when I first started). I just have no idea how often the iTunes Store actually attempts to update. Is there a standard time, or range of time?

When you add a new episode to your feed and upload it, it appears immediately for subscribers because their iTunes application reads the feed directly and the Store is not involved.
However because of the huge number of podcasts in the Store (thousands) the Store caches the feed and checks it for updates periodically. For this reason it usually takes 1-2 days for new episodes to appear in the Store: sometimes it can be less, and occasionally the whole process seems to get stuck and it can take several days.
You podcast is up to date in the Store with an episode posted yesterday; if you've been used to quicker results you've just been lucky; you can't rely on it always happening.

If you mean update to the current iOS version on your iPad, then if it's already on iOS 5+ as your tagline suggests then you should have a Settings > General > Software Update option on it for direct update.
Or you can update via your computer's iTunes (you will need the current version of iTunes installed on your computer). To update, connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option (you should do this even if updating directly on the iPad). You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. I am trying to use the following for my "iTunes Music Location" - \\Nas1\media\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music
However, when I try to purchase music, I receive the following message:
"There was an error downloading your purchased music. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your connection is active, then try again."
I can purchase songs, the song will begin to download, the appropriate files and folders will be created on the NAS (I can see them), it seems to make two tries to complete the download, then stops, and show me that message.
My network connection (DSL) is fine, and the network is up.
Anything I can do? Is it possible to store iTunes on the NAS, or do I have to set it up to store purchases locally?

If you are in one of those countries where only podcasts and iTunes U are available, the unfortunately you won't be able to buy music and films from Apple (and the terms of use of the stores state that you cannot use another country's store). Are there other music purchase download sites in your country ?
