  • Is it possible to edit a pdf with Acrobat Pro XI that was created in LiveCycle?

I downloaded a trial version of LiveCycle awhile back. I created several forms. The trial period ended and I would like to change something. When I try to edit the pdf in Acrobat Pro it tells me that I must use LiveCycle to edit it. Is there a workaround for this? Thank you in advance for any replies.
    Dana

No, all LCD forms can only be edited in LCD.
And the second trial is probably not going to work, unless you install it
    on a different computer.
The best way to salvage your form, in my experience, is to print it to the
Adobe PDF printer, creating a new flat PDF file and then running the Form
Detection Wizard in Acrobat on it and continuing from there. It probably
won't do a perfect job, but it should recognize some of the fields.

    Hi URT301,
Please see this document: PDF Ownership when Reader X is Installed with Acrobat. You'll find several solutions to this problem in the FAQ section.
Please let us know how it goes.

  • How to edit hyperlink properties in Acrobat Pro 9?

I'm trying to edit a PDF document (generated from Windows Word) on my Mac with Acrobat Pro 9.
What I want to do is make the borders invisible, because in Mac Preview the hyperlinks appear with ugly boxes around them. Apparently when no borderWidth property is set, Acrobat Reader defaults to a value of 0, but Preview defaults to a value of 1.
I selected Tools > Advanced Editing > Link tool and can see all the hyperlink boxes.
But I can't find a way to edit their properties.
I tried double-clicking on the rectangles, which is what it says to do in the manual, but nothing happens.
I tried control-click on a rectangle and a dialog pops up. I select properties from the dialog, but no properties appear.
Anybody know how to get this to work?
    Thanks,
    doug

    Wow GQDiaz,
What a wonderful gift you have given us! You have saved me hours of shuffling pages one by one between large cumbersome document scans.
Your script works like a dream. Thank you for this gift.

  • How to create interactive PDF in Acrobat Pro 11 from Indesign 6 on a Mac and keep all interactivity?

I've seen much discussion on this topic or issue.
I have a 175 page doucment that needs an active TOC, urls that link, buttons that "go back to TOC" on each page and "to next page - to previous page". You can only see the functions properly in Acrobat Reader.
What's up with that? That doesn't work for my deverse client base.
Is it because this was a file originally created in ID 5? I ask because I have since created a new file, exactly the same way with the same interactive attributes as the file that doesn't work and it works fine.
Is my file too many pages for Acrobat to handle?
Please help, my contract depends on this file working.

What you're asking for is perfectly achievable, but it won't work universally. The page count is immaterial.
Table of Contents entries created in InDesign are automatically converted into links when exported to PDF, provided the hyperlinks option on the PDF export dialog has been checked. They should work fine in any desktop software.
Buttons which link to a fixed page and 'next page/previous page' buttons created in InDesign will use a link method that requires JavaScript - this is fully-supported in the Acrobat Family on desktop platforms, but third-party renderers such as Firefox's internal viewer, and mobile PDF apps, have little or no support for scripting.

  • How to save an edited PDF in Acrobat Pro without any compression

    Hi,
I just edited an existing PDF in Acrobat Pro 9 - actually I inserted some high resolution images in TIFF via the Touchup tool.
What do I have to do to save it without any compression of the TIFFs - I tried a lot, but the outcome is always compressed, showing artifacts.
    Thanks

First, editing PDFs is really only for minor fixups. There is generally no word wrap or such when doing such editing and often then seem to go downhill fast. To edit text, you have to have the font available. If the file was scanned and the OCR applied was searchable text, the only option to edit what is displayed is with a graphics editor, typically PhotoShop. PhotoShop allows Acrobat to have edited graphics and then be reinserted in the file (I don't do it, so can't give details). ClearScan replaces what is seen on screen in the graphic with the text. In that case, you see all of the text and the corresponding errors (often many). You may want to load a graphic (bitmap) with text showing or use a scan and try the various versions of OCR to see what I am talking about. That may help you see the options. Searchable PDFs is more useful if an original is critical, such as in the legal profession.

  • Editing text in a pdf in Acrobat pro

The text lines are broken when I try to move and difficult to reallign.
Also my loopy cursive font keeps getting snipped by the boxes .  Looks bad!

Some guidance when it comes to PDF editing:
    http://acrobatusers.com/startingpoints/how-to-edit-a-pdf
Bottom line - PDF (the file format / technology that is described and defined by the ISO Standard, ISO 32000-1) does not support word processor like "editing".
Minor textual content *touchups* are possible. Acrobat facilitates making these Minor Touchups.
To "edit" one must return to the authoring file, edit there and then output the new PDF. When you don't have the authoring file you can export the textual content to Word.
After cleanup you'd do 'edits' and then output that "fresh" PDF.

  • How to embed a mp4 video into a pdf with acrobat pro XI?

I'm  trying to embed a mp4 video into a pdf using Acrobat Pro XI.  When I try to play the video, all I see is a black box. The video is H.264 codec. I've tried on a PC and Mac and get the same results.

Video playback in the Acrobat Family uses Flash Player, so if it works in FP (loaded via an HTML page) then it should work in your PDF. First suggestion is to use the free MediaInfo tool to check exactly what the internal structure reports as.

  • How can I manage to install Acrobat Pro XI in Safari ?

    Pascal Guernier May 5, 2014 8:26 AM
    Hi,
Someone can tell me how I can manage to install Acrobat Pro XI as the default PDF reader ?
Before I tried to remove Acrobat Reader XI from my MacBook Pro retina under Mac OS.X.9.2. With the help of Apple's phone support.
We did clear all caches in libraries and in other places. But, rapidly perhaps, I've deleted a folder name Reader with The XI version ? Was it Acrobat Reader or Acrobat Pro ? I don't know ?
Thank you for support because I'm in the french's taxes declaration...
    Best,
    Pascal

    Thank you for your question.
First because I was unable to save a document with a right click. Just able to print, rotate and nothing more. And a mini left screen's menu. Except thumbnails and page number, no option.  And all the Acrobat Tools were not proposed. Such edit, remove a page. Optimize And so on.
So I did believe it was a reduced version of Acrobat pro : Acrobat reader. A good tool too.
The possible solution suggested by an another user was to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat Pro.
In fact I succeeded by unistalling Acrobat Pro XI with the appropriate tool : an uninstaller. Located in the an adobe folder in Utility Tools. So I uninstall Acrobat Pro correctly. A cleaner is proposed for windows system at labs.adobe.com
And I erased by throwing it, in the TrashCan, Acrobat READER.
Then with Creative Cloud tool and my account I reinstalled Acrobat Pro XI.
And then I followed Adobe's manual tips. First I chose a Pdf file. With a right click. And in the contextual menu I chose Informations. Then I selected Acrobat Pro XI as THE défaut reader. With an option named Complete too. In order that any PDF file will be opened by Acrobat Pro XI.
    And it seems to work.
But your question is pertinent. Because if I had after a way to save the document with a Save icon, this doc. was a sensible one : my income taxes of 2013 provided by the french ministry of finance...
So I was able to save this doc. And after in Acrobat Pro with usual tools I did compile all the compulsory others pdf docs.
    Thank you and Best regards
    Pascal

  • I need to know how to edit a PDF document?

I need to know how to edit a PDF document?

Preview has limited PDF editing capability.  You can get a lot more on:
    http://www.pdfescape.com/
    or with Wondershare's PDF Editor.
Adobe Acrobat Pro is the most expensive solution.
Since you posted under iMac PPC forum, which is for iMacs that can't run any operating system newer than August 28, 2009, I can't say specifically what the capabilities of your version of Preview are.  Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac.  If you have an Intel, you do not have a PPC.  If you have a G5, G4 or G3, you posted to the right forum, and just need to find the version of Preview you have in Applications folder.

  • How to edit a PDF in Photoshop CS4

    Hi there,
I'm having some real trouble trying to figure out how to edit a PDF in photoshop cs4. So i need to edit/change text, move things around, that type of thing.
    I work in Windows.
Could someone give me a bit a low down on how this is done?
    Much appreciated,
    Victoria

You can open them but you will totally rasterize everything.
PDFs are not intended to be edited. They are a final format but as
mentioned you can use Acrobat for some minor text edits or use it to
extract the images to Photoshop for further editing.

  • When I edited a PDF in Adobe Pro (MAC) all of my text changes got jumbled up and un-readable.

When I edited a PDF in Adobe Pro (MAC) all of my text changes got jumbled up and unreadable.  I lost hours of work.
The first strange thing that I noticed was that some of the letters were showing up twice so I deleted extra letters and re-saved my work as I went along.
When I closed the document and opened it up again, ALL of the text was either missing, jumbled, or turned to symbols.
My software is updated.  My version is 11.0.10.  I work on a MAC computer.
Can anyone help me please?  I'm on a deadline and this has caused some real stress.
    Thank you.

As PDF is not a word processing file format any word processing like "editing" is not support by PDF (the file format - technology - See ISO 32000-1:2008).
Fortunately Acrobat provides robust touchup capability but "touchup" is far from word processor "editing".

  • Problem printing PDF with Acrobat Pro 9.4.4

    Hi!
I can't correctly print a PDF with Acrobat Pro that was created in Indesign CS5.
I want to print it on a letter format (8,5 X 11") and it offers me a format of 8,49 X 10,99". It results in having my document being printed as tile with it's original format 12 X 21,5" as if I didn't adjust the format to be reduced.
I temporary used Preview to print my PDF, but now I can't as the encoding in which I received the PDF used to be "Creo Normalizer JTP" and now it is "Adobe PDF Library 9.9"
    If anyone can help!
This is my first time here, thanks in advance for your help

Here's what it looks like (I work in french, hope you can understand)
I just updated my software, thanks for that!
Now, my problem is still on... I still have the very same result when I print. I did selected the correct Page Scalling I needed. I did selected the paper size I wanted. I chose Shrink to Printable Area and I tried with Fit to Printable Area.
Since I've had this problem the size appears as : 8,49 X 10,99 (Instead of 8,5 X 11). I tried with Legal (8,5 X 14) but it appears as 8,49 X 13,99. I went through the preferences, but I can't find anything that could be the problem.
    Any other idea?
    Thanks!!
Also, Preview was very helpful, as it did print my PDF correctly! I understand it's not the best... but it did the job
