Wating four your replay.
Yours Friend
Bhavin Shah.....
pr = rt.exec("cmd.exe /c start " + yourProgramName)The exec() method executes the command you specify in the argument and returns a process. In this example, it's telling Windows to run "yourProgramName".

Problem executing .bat file from within Java class
I'm stumped: I have no problem executing a .bat file that sets classpaths and executes a Java jar, but when I try to execute other executables first and then the .jar, my application hangs and since the DOS box doesn't come up over my GUI, I can't see what's going on.
This works:
public void execute() throws Exception {
String s = "c:\\cs47auxs\\omnijar\\omni.bat";
Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("\"" + s + "\"");
p.waitFor();
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(frame,
"The Database Has Been Successfully Reloaded.",
"Information Message",
JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE);
Here's the .bat 'omni.bat'
set JAVA_HOME=c:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\bin
%JAVA_HOME%\java -jar C:\CS47AUXS\OMNILOADJAR\OmniLoad.jar
This doesn't work:
public void execute() throws Exception {
String s = "c:\\cs47auxs\\omnijar\\jobomni.bat";
Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("\"" + s + "\"");
p.waitFor();
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(frame,
"The Database Has Been Successfully Reloaded.",
"Information Message",
JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE);
Here's the .bat file 'jobomni.bat'
SET NETX_HOME=C:\CS47AUXS
SET COBOL_HOME=C:\CS47AUXS\OFFLINE
CD %NETX_HOME%
CALL SET-NETX.CMD
CD %COBOL_HOME%
SSBPPC10 JOBOMNI X
SET JH=C:\J2SDK1.4.2_04\BIN
SET OMNI_HOME=C:\CS47AUXS\OMNILOADJAR
CD %OMNI_HOME%
%JH%\java -jar omniload.jar
Can anyone shed some light here? Even when I execute the application from the command line the new DOS box doesn't become visible nor can I see any errors. If I could just get that visibility, I could probably figure out what is going wrong.Same problem with me as well.... Badly looking for a solution...
I predict the following:
- If your batch file has pretty less number of dos/shell commands then it gets executed fine with exec() and proc.waitFor();
- If you increase the number of dos/shell commands in the bat file then try executing it then it definately hangs at proc.waitFor();
Even "cmd.exe /C C:\\test.bat" hangs... if the commands are more...
Is this some sort of bug? or am i doing anything wrong? I tried searching for solution on the net and search forums... but couldnt find a solution for the same.. not sure where i missed, what i missed...
Incase some one finds a solution.. do post it here...

How to execute unix command from the Java program running on Windows
Hello,
I need to
1. Execute a unix shell script from a Java program running on the Windows.
2. I also need to capture the output of this shell script in my program.
Please suggest me how to achieve this.
Thanks in Advance.Hi...
Something is missing here
If you want to execute a shell script in windows that not posible unless you find or develop a unix shell script parser for windows.
But if you are trying the execute a unix shell script on a remote unix computer from your java program running on a windows platform you can do that by logging on to the UNIX terminal which is running on port 23 I think.
You can test this using telnet tool on windows
just type on command prompt
telnet <ip of the unix pc> <port number this case 23>
you should get the unix terminal. If that works you can do the same through java or you can directly conect to port 23 of that pc using sockets that way your program will be platform independant -
Executing jar command from the java application
Hi All,
In my application i want to create a jar file with the existing class @ Runtime and want to download . But i tried to execute the jar command via Process.getRuntime, it throws IOException. Please guide me or give the solutionPavithraKarthikeyan wrote:
Please guide me or give the solutionQuestion your need for this. Why do you think you need to create the jar file.
P.S. The jar command is only available if the user has the JDK installed so if he has only the JRE installed then you have a problem using Runtime.exec(). There are classes (java.util.jar.JarFile et al) that will allow you to jar files using Java code. -

AllwynYou might improve your chances of getting help if you do two things:
1) Explain what "not working" means.
2) ChangeSystem.out.println(IOEx); to IOEx.printStackTrace(); (in the eventhat is in fact related to "not working"). -

Executing class files from a Java App dynamically
Hi!, Is there any way i can execute java .class files from my Java Application dynamically. I know that java uses Dynamic method Invocation. Is that true of class files generated using some other language compiled for the JVM.
In my case i would like to make a Web browser that interprets HTML and also java applets embeded in them. I would like to use the JRE of the platform execute the applets for me rather than writing the code for my Browser to interpret the class files.
Thanks in Advance.You just need a custom class loader to bring these applets into your JVM.
http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Security/Fundamentals/magercises/URLClassLoader/index.html
Then you can use the methods of java.lang.Class to create an instance of such a class. As soon as you have it, you can just treat it as a regular Applet and invoke init(), stop() etc. appropriately.
If you want to execute anything else than conventional Applets, you might consider reflection to find out about methods implemented:

How to share personal files from the iMac to MacBook Pro
How do I share files from the iMac so I don't have to keep on sending it to the MacBook Pro. Under the iMac's system preferences, I clicked on sharing and enabled personal file sharing. When I connect to the iMac's server using the MacBook Pro, I try to log in but it says my log in info is unknown. So I try loging in as a guest but when I click on the drop box, it says that I don't have the privilegde to view it. Is there another easier way of file sharing between the computers I have at home?
When you log into the server computer you need to use the username and password of an account that exists on the server computer.

How to move PDF file from Spool to Application Server?
How to move PDF file from Spool to Application Server?
Cannot use RSTXPDFT4 because that converts OTF to PDF and the file is already PDF.
RSTXPDFT5 doesn't work. It picks the file up and assigns it a 'text' type and outputs a 1 line txt (1kb in size) on the server with the spool number in it!
The program which outputs the file to the spool, in the first place, uses adobe forms and outputs to a printer of type PDF.Hi Gemini ,
Please refer the below links.
