How to execute command(program) from external file in Oracle SQL developer

Hi,
Does anyone know, Oracle SQL developer version 1.0.0.14.67 got any function that can execute command from an external file?
Example, i have 100 insert SQL inside a text file,
and i want to use Oracle SQL developer to execute it. How do i read from my text file? Thanks a lots.

If you're new to Oracle, do yourself and us a favour: read some tutorials and manuals. What sqldev's worth, better download the latest version (1.1.2), lots of fixes and enhancements...
Now for the big popper: to run an external file: @file
Best of luck,
K.

  • Extract Siebel Tools sse_data.dbf file into Oracle Sql Developer.

    Hi All,
I have Siebel tools installed on my machine and I need to export the sse_data.dbf file from tools to Oracle Sql Developer, how do I do that? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
    Edited by: user11919275 on May 17, 2010 4:20 AM

    Hi,
There's a tool named dbisqlc.exe which comes with default Siebel Tools installation. You can execute DML statements by using this tools. Actually dbisqlc.exe and sqldeveloper are both client tools for executing SQL statements.
What do you want to do by exporting the local dbf? Can you please explain your requirement?

  • Executing commands read from text file

I'm trying to execute full command lines that I am reading in from a text file. For example, each line in the file contains a full call to a method that I have already written, including arguments. I have opened the text file, can read in line by line and store in an array, but how do I go about executing the commands?
For example, if the first slot in my array contains the string "myMethod(50, 100);" how can I effectively get that to execute, followed by the next comand, etc.?
I think I'm overshooting this, because it really shouldn't be difficult.
Help would be reciprocated with undying gratitude and perhaps the sacrifice of a pot nellied pig in your name.

  • How to launch a program from Director?

    Hi, I'm new to Director.
I want the user of my Director movie to click on a button
that launches Adobe Acrobat and a help file (external to the
    Director movie).
    How do I do this?

I have a similar question... can Director be used to launch a
program? I understand that you can tell it to open a file, in which
case the default application is automatically launched, but can you
give it a specific command line to execute?
I have SCALA MM200, and it can execute command lines from
within Windows, but as I recall it wasn't a very seamless
transition between the presentation and the launched program. I
hesitate to keep using MM200, since it was designed for Win 98/NT,
but rather than buy new software it might be best to stick with
what I've got if it still works under XP.
Seems to me a lot of current "multimedia" software is great
for animations and presentations, but there's little consideration
for creating a true GUI with it that will do stuff outside of the
presentation itself. I suppose I should go with VisualBasic or
something like that, but my programming days are 20 years behind
me, and there's still the issue of buying new software (unless VB
    is free, which I doubt).
I plan to try MM200 under XP, but if it doesn't work, or
doesn't perform quite as I'd like it to, it would help to know that
Director could work. However, if there's no way to execute a
specific command line, it probably isn't the right choice for me.
A quick summary of my planned application is to present a
menu of choices to the user, and then execute certain programs
depending on the choice. The presentation will probably hide in the
background while these programs run, so another consideration is
avoiding any conflicts. The programs are video game emulators, and
certain options are set in the command line, so simply telling
Director to open a game file may not work, even if the emulator is
set as the default application to open that file. I'll still need
to pass certain command line switches to the app, and I'm not sure
I can do that in Director.
Thanks in advance for any help! :) (I never visit the forum,
so it's best to e-mail me at [email protected])

  • HT1660 How do I run itunes from external Hard drive?

How do I run itunes from external hard drive. I only have ssd on PC and media is too large to fit

    You do not.
iTunes, like all programs is installed on the C drive.
You can store the media on another drive.
Assuming you are moving an existing library from another computer:
Move or Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer and put it where you want it.
Install iTunes using the default options.
Hold <SHIFT> while launching iTunes.  It will prompt to create a new library or locate an existing library.
Select the option to locate an existing library.
Point iTunes to the iTunesLibrary.itl file in the iTunes folder that was moved from the old computer.
