How to export a PDF to a word document? at the moment it came up with "The encoding (CMap) specified by a font is missing ????? what can I do?  thanks

Hi frenchiem,
This is due to the PDF file cannot display the original fonts. To fix it, creator should create the PDF file with the embed font option enabled. Thus, user can open the file on any platform with the same layout. Or the Acrobat product can display them after you install the appropriate font support package on the client side.

  • How to export Keynote slides to a Word document?

    Hi
I need to be able to export my Keynote presentation (saved as ppt) to a Word document (i.e. I will save Pages as .doc) I wondered if this is possible and if so how to go about doing so.
I have just changed from a Microsoft-based laptop to the MacBook and know how to do this on the former but not a clue on the Apple.
All help will be much appreciated.

You can drag a slide directly from the Navigator sidebar in Keynote to a Pages document, and have the slide appear on the page. You can also export slides as images, or you can export as a PDF, and drag each slide separately into the document (open in Preview, and drag the thumbnail from the sidebar).
I would caution, however, about presenting an exported presentation without looking at it in PowerPoint first.

  • How to extract embedded pdf in MS word document

    Hi
My project needs us to extract a embedded pdf document in a MS word document.
Can anyone advise how to extract an embedded pdf document in a MS word document using .NET.
    Thanks

    >According to the MSDN website as follows:...
Yes, it seems to say that Word doesn't support directly extracting an
object once it is embedded, but fortunately for some MS Office formats
there are OLE classes that can help.
    >Pls see the reply by Geof Darst which mentioned that for pdf documents attached in the word document, the support should be from Adobe.
Well, it actually says "I suspect that Adobe Acrobat exposes a similar
programming model because there is an Adobe Acrobat Type Library. "
This means the writer saw the object model, not that he saw anything
    about it.
Maybe it works, but it certainly isn't a use of the Acrobat object
    model I've ever seen before.
What I see happen when I double click on an embedded Acrobat OLE
object is that it opens in Acrobat Professional. I could then save the
file. This may mean that if you can automate Word to open the object,
then you can use Acrobat's API to ask it to save a newly opened PDF.
    An interesting experiment.

Can any body tell me how search text in PDF
and MS Word document through Java code, any
body has code or any suggestion to giveYes.
First, you need to work out how to read each document type from Java.
E.g, for MS Word you could use Apache Jakarta POI - HWPF: http://jakarta.apache.org/poi/hwpf/index.html
Then, you use Apache Lucene to index and search.

  • After I exported a PDF to a Word doc and downloaded it, I can't get the pointer tool to work.

After I exported a PDF to a Word doc and downloaded it, I can't get the pointer tool to work. When I click on the document text, the only tool is the "move" tool. I can't edit or select text. Please advise.

Version of Adobe: Adobe ExportPDF (not Pro)
    Operating system:  Windows 8.1
Steps I am taking: When the PDF file is selected and opened, I clicked on Tools menu on right side of the screen; then I clicked on Select PDF file; then under Convert To, I selected Microsoft Word (*.docx); then I hit the box below that; and clicked Convert. I then see the message that says it is Converting to Export PDF Online. Then I see a link below that, that says Download Converted File. This takes me online to Adobe Acrobat .com, where, I see the command, Export PDF, and see a blue box on the same screen that says Select PDF Files to Export. I click on the thumbnail of the file I want to export. This brings up, online, a screen containing the file I wanted to convert to Word. Then, on the same screen, I click on the icon on the right hand of the screen that says Download. then I click on the box on the bottom the screen that contains the Word document I had wanted to convert. This brings up the Word doc. in Compatibility Mode the latest Word version, which I am unfamiliar with and which has a Picture Tools tab that I cannot escape from and I cannot get any selection tool other that the Move pointer, and I cannot find the Select text pointer to select any text on the page. I don't want this Word version and do not know how to return to the old version of Word that I am familiar with.
    Can you help me, please?

  • I exported a pdf file to word but i can't edit

I exported a pdf file to word but i can't edit. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi hc69,
You're most likely doing nothing wrong! For starters, please try triple-clicking in the text that you want to edit in Word.
If that doesn't work, it may be that the PDF was created from a scanned page, and that OCR (optical character recognition) wasn't performed on that PDF to convert the scanned/image text to selectable/editable text. OCR is enabled by default when you convert via the ExportPDF website, but can be disabled in Reader. Please see How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community to make sure OCR is enabled.
Let's start there. If neither of those solutions work, we can take it from there.
    Best,
    Sara

I need to convert PDF file to Word Document, so it can be edited. But the recognizing text options do not have the language that I need. How I can convert the file in the desired of me language?

The application Acrobat provides no language translation capability.
If you localize the language for OS, MS Office applications, Acrobat, etc to the desired language try again.
Alternative: transfer a copy of content into a web based translation service (Bing or Google provides a free service).
Transfer the output into a word processing program that is localized to the appropriate language.
    Do cleanup.

I have Microsoft Word for my MacBook Pro.  How do I add a pdf to a word document, I have Microsoft Word for my MacBook Pro.  How do I add a pdf to a word document

What do you want to do specifically.  They are two different document formats - one is PDF, the other DOC or DOCX.  In what way do you wish to "add" ad PDF to a word document. You can embed a mini version within a document (copy it and paste it from within the x.doc) but that's a pretty hokey looking solution.
Oh, its mostly irrelevant if its office 2004,8 or 11 - they all do this more or less the same way.
