How to export special characters into an XML file?

Dear experts,
We read files from our customers and save data into our customized table without any character changed, including some address fields. In those address fields, some special characters (not in our code page) are also kept. When we want to write these address fields into an XML file or flat file, the special charcters become "##" or not readable, can anyone help us to solve this issue?
Question1: How to write special code to an external file?
Question2: how to use 'CALL TRANSFORMATION' from an internal table to an XML file?
Your answer is highly appreciated!
Joanne

Hi Joanne.
Please check the below link.
CALL TRANSFORMATION
Before that u have to create one transformation program in STRANS tcode for using it in call transformation statement.
Hope it will be useful.

    Avoid doing that through a link. If this is a page item then submit the page and redirect to the target page using a branching. On the target page, create a computation to compute the target item using the original page item as the source. If you are talking about a report, use the id to pass through the link and fetch the text column in an on load computation.

  • How to add special characters into numbers?

    Hi, I wonder how can I add special characters like the one in the "Edit" menu for the Mac versions? Thanks.

    It all depends what exactly you are talking about, so if you tell us, someone can help you. Some can be made from the keyboard, others you would need to copy/paste from an app like Unicode Map.

  • Special Characters while loading xml file in rtf template

    Hello,
    We use Oracle BI Publisher Enterprise to develop and publish reports. I am self taught and I am used to developing reports the following way
    1) Write SQL query
    2) View the Data format and copy the xml from the browser
    3) put in in textpad and use block mode to get rid of the hyphens
    4) save the xml on the desktop
    6) Now start a new rtf and go to plugins and load xml data
    7) load the xml data and then generate a tabular or cross tab report using the toolbar in plugins
    Now in step 6 when I try to load the xml data I am getting an error because some of the data elements have '<' or '>' than signs.
    What are my options now and how do I fix the xml to escape or put cdata sections around the special characters? Is there a better way to develop reports using the GUI?
    Thanks

  • How to edit/update data into an XML file using Flex and Actionscript

    I can read an external xml file, please see the code below:
    protected function button1_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void
    var GrowthChartsDataGrid:XML;
    var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
    var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("../GrowthChartsDataGrid.xml");
        loader.load(request);
        loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onComplete)
    function onComplete (event:Event)
         var loader:URLLoader = URLLoader(event.target);
         GrowthChartsDataGrid = new XML(loader.data);
         GrowthChartsDataGrid.GrowthChartGridView += <Month> {txtMonth.text} <Weight> {txtWeight.text} </Weight> </Month>
         texttesting.text = GrowthChartsDataGrid.toString();
    I can read an XML file and can add an extra node and can display it in a text filed. But I want to update the XML file contents which will come from the txtMonth and txtWeight text boxes.
    Please any suggestions???

    First of all thanks for your quick reply .
    I actually want to add another node inthe xml file. Files is at a local location and i can read the file and add an extra node (but I cant store this extra node in the actual XML file). But I want to save XML with the extra node.
    For exmaple,
    my current xml is:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <GrowthChartGridView>
        <Month> 1
        <Weight>3.5</Weight></Month>
    <Month> 2
        <Weight>3.9</Weight></Month>
    <Month> 3
        <Weight>4.5</Weight></Month>
    </GrowthChartGridView>
    and at run time, I can create a new node using the data from two textboxes at button click event.
         GrowthChartsDataGrid.GrowthChartGridView += <Month> {txtMonth.text} <Weight> {txtWeight.text} </Weight> </Month>
    Now what I want to do is, I want to add this node back in to my XML. Therefore, the result I am looking for is, my local XML should update like this.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <GrowthChartGridView>
        <Month> 1
        <Weight>3.5</Weight></Month>
    <Month> 2
        <Weight>3.9</Weight></Month>
    <Month> 3
        <Weight>4.5</Weight></Month>
    <Month> {txtMonth.text} <Weight> {txtWeight.text} </Weight> </Month>  //I can read data from text boxes so its fine but I can not store this in to                                                                                                          my original XML
    </GrowthChartGridView>
    Thanks

  • How to use special characters in Report Builder

    Hi everyone,
    I wonder if you guys can help me. I'm trying to change our Invoice hearders from English to Portuguese. Eg, I've changed this English heading
    ("FOR ACCOUNT QUERIES CONTACT") to this Portuguese heading ("PARA CONSULTAS DE CONTA CONTACTE"). So when I'm done, my entire invoice will be in Portuguese. This works fine, until I get special characters in some of the Portuguese translations. I can copy and paste the translations with special characters into Report Builder. But when I print the invoice in Oracle Apps (with a PDF output), the special characters get replaced with a "?".
    Here's an example:
    < "Line No" should read "Linha nº" but it prints out as "Linha n?" > Does anybother know how I can resolve this? I'm using Report Builder: 10.1.2.3.0 on Oracle Apps: 11.5.10.2 and RDBMS : 10.2.0.4.0
    Thank you in advance

    Hi,
    You need to have Portuguese font installed on your machine, if you are running the report from your machine or else if you are running the same from report server then the font has to be there on the server font dir.

  • How to export image data into XDP

    Hi, All
      I'm working on a healthcare project that needs to export the doctor's signature image into XDP file from the database to fill in the Insurance company claim form. My question is how to export image data into a field node in the XDP file, we know the name of the image field which defined in the PDF form, Is it something like:
      the signature image data ?
    Should the image data in this node be base64 encoded or text encoded or something else?
    Can the image be any kind? e.g. BMP, PNG, JPEG, ..., etc?
    Thanks
    William

    Hi Andre,
    Document will be of ASCII characters right?? but image data will be in binary format. as per database concept it is stored as binary large object. But in datawarehousing the back end is also going to be some database such as Oracle or other DBs.
    which can take blob's. so it would be possible to store the binary data.
    If any one has faced this situation can reply.to this ques.
    can post the step to load image(jpg/bmp or any image format) data in to info cube??
    hi andre if u have done loading image data as you say.pls reply me if you have the steps with you.
    thanks Andre

  • How to write special characters in PDF using iText

    How to write special characters encoded with UTF-8 in PDF using iText.
    Regards,
    Pandharinath.

    I don't know what your problem is but that's almost certainly the wrong question to ask about it. Java (including iText) uses only Unicode characters. (You may consider some of them to be "special" if you like but Unicode doesn't.) And when it does that, they aren't encoded in UTF-8 or any other encoding.
    So can you describe your problem? That question doesn't make sense.

    Hi Prashant ,
      What special characters would you like to include .
    There are a set of characters / icons /symbols that can be included in Script , for that open a window in edit mode and in the menu there will be an option called Insert  , here you can find a lot of characters/symbols that can be included .
