New to Fios - So confused how to find anything on!!! - Need help with search

Been with Comcast for years and years and just switched to Fios. With all the channels and various buttons on the remote I'm overwhelmed with trying to figure out what's actually on.
I understand how to use the search feature to find a show or theme, but what I can't figure out is how do you see a list of results for just programs that are currently on??
It seems the search results are listed in order of channel name and there is nothing on the list that I see that shows which ones are currently on. I find myself going thru the list, constantly pushing the right arrow key on the remote just to then find out the show is on later in the day or another day.
Please help!

The best way to see what's on now is simply to press Up on the remote to bring up the half-screen guide, then use the Ch + and - buttons to quickly scan through it.

As rex already mentioned, Apps and other content are forever tied to the Apple ID that was used to purchase them. No transfers. No combining Apple IDs. Forever means forever.
In practice, this means any apps you currently have - free or paid - will need to be either repurchased using your new Apple ID or downloaded again if free. Until you refresh all of your apps, your iPad will ask for credentials to the old Apple ID any time one of the apps is updated.

I Have the same problem, I switched off location services, maps in data, whatever else maps could be involved in nd then just last nite it chewed 100mb... I'm also on vodacom so I'm seeing a pattern here somehow. Siri was switched on however so I switched it off now nd will see what happens. but I'm gonna go into both apple and vodacom this afternoon because this must be sorted out its a serious issue we have on our hands and some uproar needs to be made against those responsible!

i did that middle button and top button for 6-10 seconds, hold play button, that hold button and got it right back and still it won't on but it is detected on my pc and itunes. i've already even put on some songs but it keeps on charging and charging for how many hours and if i remove it, it shuts off and won't turn on again.

Call Apple Care. You are still under warranty. You also have 14 days from the date of purchase to return your iPod with no questions asked.
Take FULL advantage of your warranty. Posting on a message board should be done as a last resort and if you are out of warranty or Apple Care has expired.

would help you out. You can also put in part of the name and it will return all the matches. As for a GUI -- you don't get that by default in Arch.
There is a GUI wrapper for pacman called shaman, but iirc, it uses kdelibs and integrates well with KDE. It looks like you are using Gnome, but you can use shaman in Gnome too.

Whenever I try to browse certain types of Web sites with Firefox - and I'm not sure what the common denominator is, but it might be Javascript - the OS tries to connect to an AFP share point on another machine. There's no good reason for it to do this.
This is apparently a common problem. Google for "AFP Connection Status" and you'll see a lot of reports of "stale" AFP pointers being generated by various Mac programs, which cause this sort of behavior ever after. Solutions invariably involve looking in directories associated with the application, like "Plugins", for stale link alias files.
I've looked in the obvious places and I can't find it. Now, what I need to do is find (or write) a program which lists ALL the alias files in the system, or, preferably, all the aliases which point to an AFP share point. Because there SHOULDN'T BE ANY. Aliases are, these days, zero-length files with structured information in the resource fork containing the actual information about the file being pointed at.
Can anyone help by pointing out such a program? The BSD "find" command hasn't been extended (yet) to search file metatdata, it seems, at least not according to the man page. I am no stranger to the Terminal, being an old FreeBSD hand, so UNIX-style solutions are welcome.

Had to solve this one on my own. Hopefully people will see this when they Google for it, but this is a general solution to the problem of persistent "AFP Connection Status" popups that won't go away.
The problem, as others have stated, is that there is an alias somewhere on the system that points to the missing share. The share won't be mentioned in a regular file; the share point's information is located in the resource fork of the alias. What's needed is a way to search the entire file system for any resource fork that mentions the share.
Here is how to do that:
# find / -type f -exec grep funkyshare '{}'/rsrc \; -print
When this command finds the aliases - and there may be more than one - you can delete them.

Turning "off" Wi-Fi might not be that much of a challenge even for him. To disconnect from the Internet, click the Wi-Fi (fan) icon in the Mac's menu bar and select Turn Wi-Fi Off.
This assumes he is not connecting to the Internet using an Ethernet cable. The Ethernet cable plugs into the back of the iMac. It locks in place with a plastic tab, like a landline phone connector.
Then, continue with the rest of the procedure in "Ransomware" web pages at Step 3.
Step 6 reverses the disconnection procedure. Your Dad has to understand that he won't be able to connect to the Internet until that step.

You can sync music to the iPod by connecting it your computer, selecting the iPod on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and then using the Music tab on the right-hand side of iTunes to select which of your iTunes music library to sync to it. You need to return it to the seller and get your money back. You cannot reset or use the device with another AppleID installed unless you know the password for that ID.
