How to find serial number without using macbook?

What can be used to find serial number of my macbook outside of using my macbook?
My computer was stolen and I do not have the box nor do I have it registered in iCloud, I know that iTunes holds my computer as an authorized user for my ID so I am sure somewhere it hold the serial number to identify that computer.
I just need to know how to access that information so I may register it in my name so I can have Apple help me track it.

Wrong question, as there has been no formal revision number issued by Apple. What you may have seen on some postings about revision C, D, etc. is probably no more than rumor.
You can get some information about the place and date of production of your computer by selecting the "Blue Apple" in your menu bar, then selecting About this Mac. Press More, then look at your serial number.
My serial number is W8612xxxxx..
"W8" lists the production location in China.
"612" means that my MBP was produced in the 12th week of 2006.
One of the defects in early production runs was a noisy inverter for the LCD screen. It's likely that that was a parts problem that was remedied in progress of production. My "week 12" MBP has no problems at all.
My MBP runs a bit hot, but within specs. For that matter, I found the TiBook it replaced was uncomfortably warm as a laptop. There's a simple remedy if you want work in laptop mode. Why do you need the serial number? You could get it if you'd ever synced it to that copy of iTunes before, but I'm guessing that's not the case. You need to put the phone into recovery mode and restore it if it's disabled now. There really isn't any other choice.

I briefly dunked my Iphone GS3 Iphone into the dog dish of water. it doesn't boot now. Had no service message . No initials like recognizing my phone. i had it in dried rice for two days when it finally booted up this far. Do you think there is any hope to keep drying it out. Did you have the "Find my Device" enabled on your AirBook? Look at this web page and maybe you remember setting it up and if you did you could track it and/or disable it the first time it's connected to the internet:

Report as soon as possible and also make up flier and hand out to all the local pawn shops in case the theif tries to pawn it or sell it. Also keep you eyes out for craigslist ipad sales for AirBooks - you never know how silly some people and try to sell a stolen item that you can prove is yours.

So, if your trying to locate your serial, or IMEI number in iTunes, assuming that you do have a backup there, click on the half white and half black box in the top left hand corner in iTunes for windows, and iTunes in the top left hand corner on a Mac.
