How To Fix iTunes Match in iOS 7

After looking through other forums, I have found this soultion which seems to work well.

1) ON your iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings: iTunes & App Store.
Tap on your Apple ID, Sign Out, iTunes Match will be off.
2) On your iPhone/iPad go to Settings: Music: Look at the iTunes Match slider, it should be off.
          If not, turn it off.
3) On your Mac/PC in iTunes, go Store (in the file menu bar above) and tap Sign Out.
4) Restart your iPhone/iPad by pressing the Home Button and the Sleep/Wake button (at the top) at the same time until the Apple icon appears.
Hold it for about 10-20 seconds until the Apple icon appears again.
5) Go back to your Mac/PC in iTunes, go Store (in the file menu bar above) and Sign In, Turn On iTunes Match, and wait for it to complete.
6) Go to settings on your iPhone, tap iTunes & App Store. Sign In with your Apple ID and password, turn on iTunes Match Slider.
          Tap ENABLE.
7) Switch SHOW ALL Music to be ON.
8) Next go to Settings, tap on Music, the iTunes Match slider should be on.
          If not, turn it on.
9) Finally, go into the Music App on your iPhone/iPad. Loading iTunes Match will start processing with a Blue Line, matching your iTunes Library.
Hope this helps!

THANK YOU!!
While I am also unsure what this "fix" is for, it resolved a problem I have had for months with iTunes and the Music app in iOS7.  I have about 4,500 songs in my iTunes library and before buying my iPhone 5S I had a Samsung Android phone.  Google music worked PERFECTLY and would always add anything from iTunes to it's library without a second thought.
However, after I setup my iPhone and got used to iOS7 I realized the Music app was only showing about 1/3 of my music. I turned off iTunes Match, I turned it on, I reset my phone, I tried everything.  My iPod Mini and iPhone would only show a portion of my iTunes library even when a cloud icon was next to a song.
I ended up downloading and using a Google Music App for iPhone which (here we go) could see all of my music. However, it drove me crazy that I had to use this 3rd party app when Apple and iOS7 should have worked and showed me every song I owned.
Well, after weeks of searching online for a solution on a whim I used the one above just to see if it had any effect. Sure enough, IT WORKED. How it worked, I have no idea. What was wrong, I have no idea. But within a few minutes ALL of my iTunes library is now visable on my iPad and iPhone using the proper iOS7 app and I was able to delete the 3rd party one.
Amen!

    Brian,
Again, not accurate. When Match is "turned off" all of the Matched song instances are still shown in the Ibrary and all devices still stream - so, if you have your songs also stored on your local drive (which I choose to as one does not always have access to WiFi and I use the local instances of the songs for some music production/DJing), iTunes shows each song twice.  This is cumbersome if you simply want to play an album - you have to hear each song twice. There is no reason technologically they could not simply show the metadata for a song only once and simply hit the cloud object store when it it is not found as a local disk target. This would solve some of the issues and it is pretty much how any content delivery network (CDN) works - and this is how my local Genius Bar assured me it would work before I bought the service. I found they know little about Match.
Other issues: I believe the "exclusive" Cloud Playtlist logic still stands - iTunes protests if you add a non-Matched song to a Playlist (as it assumes you want all Playlists to be cloudy). Also, the APLCARE person and I  could not figure out what "Removed" (under Cloud Status) means despite looking up several explanations on the Web. And, we found songs that were only in the cloud that should have also been on my local drive as I never deleted them. That said, it is also a pain to fully delete a song (local + the cloud). Plus, the logic in the Purchased section around what constitutes "Not On Computer" did not hold up. They have lots of logical challenges with thier workflow.
Regardingyour suggestion, there is no way to "not use" Match. Only when one is disconnected from the iTunes store does Match seem to go away completely. The only thing you can turn off is the song syncing/matching/uploading. This amounts only to turning off a sub-process not the service.
Match is likely fine for most who do not want to have any copy of the songs locally and are fine having access to their music only when connected via WiFi. I wanted more ubiquitous access to my collection from my iPad and my iPhone but needed to keep my songs local to my MBP too. This is not the proper use case as I have learned.
Of course I won't renew, but I should be able to cancel a service that I am dissatisfied with.

    Dear Michael, good day!
    1. As per your instruction, I turned off iTM.
Small discrepancy – where are two screens with iTM switch:
-Settings > iTunes & App Store.
    -Settings > Music
    I switched OFF in both.
NB: I turned device to English for convenience.
    2. My next step was Setting > General > Usage – tapped {Music};
{All music} screen appeared; I swiped it and taped Delete.
    3. I performed “hard reset” …………………………………..
    4. Switched back On iTM
    5. Taped Music app on Home screen
iTM has started –  (it took 18 minutes  to completed, 60 mbps Wi-Fi speed )
Regret to inform… All the same:
Erase and reset to factory default? Or I did smf wrong?

Question: is there supposed to be a iCloud symbol next to every song that matches in iTunes?  I only have "unavailable to match" clouds.
No. Tracks will only have a cloud in the "iCloud Download" column if they are unprocessed by iTM. If a track is deleted from the iTunes library and is available for download there will be a slightly different cloud icon in that column with an arrow pointing down to incidate it is available to download.
Tracks that have been processed or are resident in the iTunes library will have nothing in the "iCloud Download" column.

  • How do cancel iTunes Match?

How I can cancel the iTunes Match before the renovation?

    Hello, maiatrindade.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are the steps on how to cancel iTunes Match.
To turn off Auto-Renew for iTunes Match
iTunes Match will automatically renew your subscription at the end of your 1 year subscription by default. To turn off Auto-Renew:
Open the latest version of iTunes.
    Choose Store > Sign In.
Enter your Apple ID and password, and click Sign In.
Choose Store > View My Account. You may be asked to re-enter your Apple ID password.
In the "iTunes in the Cloud" section, click Turn Off Auto-Renew to the right of iTunes Match.
Note: If at any time during the matching and uploading process you lose your Internet connection or experience a power outage, iTunes will automatically resume where it left off the next time you open iTunes.

  • How will the itunes match app affect my data usage?

how will the itunes match app affect my data usage? It seems to take a while to connect and start playing so i'm assuming if my range isnt the best it will drop out like a bad radio station???

What I have done is create playlists and I'll download the playlists to the iPhone while I'm at home, on Wi Fi, and listen while I'm out and about. I've only downloaded the occasional tracks on 3G (mainly because at&t's network was so terrible). This method worked pretty well for me.
Incidentally, iTunes Match should not be used as a substitute for a backup: FAQ:  Why iTunes Match can NOT be used as a backup!

  • ITunes Match on iOS 7 devices

I've been using iTunes Match happily for a year now (in fact, my renewal came through yesterday!) but am experiencing some issues using it with iOS 7 devices.
I had an iPhone 4s running iOS 6. The upgrade to 7 wiped everything, so I had to download new copies of everything from the Cloud. No problems there, that's what I would expect it do. Helpfully though, iTunes Match set itself to download every bit of music I had on there before (over 1000 songs) using cellular data. I was very careful to make sure I hadn't turned this on in iOS 6, so I guess I was naive to assume the iPhone would remember the setting after the OS upgrade.
So I did the upgrade, all seemed to be working, and left the house. I noticed throughout the day that the battery was draining ridiculously fast. Popped into an Apple Store (missing an appointment to do so) to see what was happening, they said to wipe everything and re-install from a Mac rather than download the update over the Cloud as I had done before. So we did that in the Store, and I left again with a full battery. An hour later, it's back down to 30%. That's when I noticed that I appeared to have a lot of space taken up by music. OMG. It had been downloading music over 3G the whole time! Cue a £60 bill for excess data usage on my contract. Cheers for that, Apple. I admit that I missed what it was doing, but two "genuises" in one of your flagship stores (Regent Street) didn't spot it either.
Anyway, that was the least of my worries. Fixed that with a simple setting, now it was downloading music only on wi-fi. Great. Trouble is, every time it went on wi-fi, the battery drained quickly again. It was downloading music all the time. Some playlists would complete, some would sit with 2-3 songs missing, trying to download the whole time. Every now and then, I'd pick a playlist, and all the songs would be gone from the device and only in the cloud, needing a download again. It would sometimes just sit there, looking like it was downloading music (little spinwheel next to the wi-fi symbol) but nothing was happening.
I thought perhaps the device was doing this as it was only a 16GB iPhone 4s, so was trying to save me space by removing playlists I didn't listen to. So I tested it on my iPad 4, just downloading a 10 song playlist. It was there for about 3 days, then disappeared. Again, I thought maybe as it was "only" a 16GB device, it was saving space for me, but I couldn't find anything about a feature like that online at all.
So last Monday was new phone day. I finally received my 64GB iPhone 5S that I'd ordered on release day. I deliberately installed only the apps I would need, leaving loads of space for music. Trouble is, it's still losing my music. I have a playlist of 370 songs, of which it cannot seem to download 30 (despite my iPad and old iPhone being able to). This playlist will generally work fine on shuffle, skipping the ones it can't download, but every now and then I will go to open the playlist while I'm not on wi-fi, and every song in the playlist is no longer on the device.
TL;DR: Does anyone know why iOS 7 devices seem to lose songs that they had previously downloaded? iOS 6 worked fine with them.
And...is there any way to fix this? I'm not entirely happy to be paying £22 a year for a service that doesn't work properly, especially on a brand new £750 device.

I have been having the same problem. I've just sorted my iphone out (iphone 5 ios 7). This is probably more of a hack/cheat but seems to work. First go to settings>music and switch off the Show all music. When you go to your music app, you will now only be able to see whats actually on the phone. Next I plugged my phone into itunes on my computer and in itunes on the summary screen, I ticked the manually manage music and videos. After doing this, I then unticked it again (it asks a few 'are you sure' questions as you do this). This seems to force it to forget all the itunes match things, have a good look and do a proper sync. Careful here as it had automatically ticked to sync all films / TV etc so told me I didn't have enough space. It kept all my manual music selections so didn't wreck things. I manually switched off things I didn't want (no films / TV etc) and it is now busy copying 3000+ songs back onto my phone.
Itunes match works well to stream music to my apple tv but my advise is don't use it with a phone if you travel because its rubbish!

  • HT4914 How will it (iTunes Match) affect my iPod classic?

    Hi there,
I have a Macbook Pro, iPhone 4s and iPod classic. I only use my iPod classic for my music. I am quite intrigued by iTunes Match, and I am wondering how, if at all, it will affect my music on my computer at the moment and my iPod classic. And I am aware that Match is only avaialbe for those with iOS (iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch). I use it for working out, driving to work, etc, and I don't want to lose it on my computer, but I like the concept behind iTunes Match. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

The actual files must be on the computer HDD to be synced to an iPod Classic. Syncing of that model of iPod will not work if the files are not there.
If you are going to re-add the files back to your library the best way to do it is to restore from the backup you made before you deleted all the song files.

  • Very slow music download with iTunes match on iOS devices

For some time now I experience very slow performance downloading music with iTunes match on my iOS devices.
Downloading music takes ages now. Not so long ago download music with iTunes match was as fast as buying music from the iTunes Store.
I tried to restore my iPhone but nothing changed.
    The download itself is quite fast but after that the blue progress bar is full and the statut is "en cours" (french) something like busy/ongoing in english . The other tracks have a status wating;
Any idea how to solve the issue?
    Thanks

Same here. It seems to be better when the device has been set up from scratch. A delete and restore does not the trick. So I learned to live with it
