ORA-00600 is the final "it's not anything else" error. It pretty much means "open an SR". There is an ora-0600 lookup tool on MOS where you can feed it some arguements from your specific error and see if anything comes up. But you'll still need an MOS account, either way.

    Hi All,
    I am facing this ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [12209], [0], [], [], [], [], [], [] in my production database oracle 8i version.
    kindly let me know actions to be taken.
    thank you

    Amit,
    The doc id mentioned by Satish already,*138325.1* is the correct note for the error code of yours.As its not right to post the content of metalink material, I shall just say that you have hit a bug which is removed in the release of 10g. So you should upgrade to 10g and/or , post the trace files which are created by this error to Oracle Support. I am not sure that would work either as support for 8i is not there any more.

    Hi Looze,
    System information would really help as suggested by Mylenium . I would also recommend going through the below mentioned Kb article to see if that resolves the query.

  • Messages on my MacBook Air won't send messages over iMessage. Anyone know how to fix this?

    In preferences, under accounts, it claims that my Apple iD is hooked up to messages, including my phone number and email address...yet it isn't sending messages they always fail. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? It would be a great help.

    Read this whole message before doing anything.
    Back up all data.
    Quit Messages if it’s running.
    Step 1
    Hold down the option key and select
    Go ▹ Library
    from the Finder menu bar. Move the following items from the Library folder to the Trash (either may not exist):
    Caches/com.apple.Messages
    Caches/com.apple.imfoundation.IMRemoteURLConnectionAgent
    Leave the Library folder open. Log out and log back in. Try Messages again. If it works now, stop here. Close the Library folder.
    Step 2
    If you still have problems, quit Messages again. Go back to the Finder and move the following item from the open Library folder to the Desktop:
    Messages
    Note: you are not moving the Messages application. You’re moving a folder named “Messages.”
    Test. If Messages now works, delete the Messages folder on the Desktop. Otherwise, quit Messages again. Put back the folder you moved, overwriting the newer one that may have been created in its place, and continue.
    Step 3
    In the Preferences subfolder, there may be several files having names that begin with "com.apple.iChat". Move them all to the Desktop. There may also be a file with the name "com.apple.imagent.plist". Move that to the Trash.
    Also in the Preferences folder, there's a subfolder named "ByHost". Open it and do the same thing.
    Log out and log back in. Test again. This time Messages should perform normally, but your settings will be lost. You may be able to put back some of the files you moved to the Desktop in this step. Relaunch and test after each one. Eventually you should find one or more that causes Messages to malfunction. Delete those files and recreate whatever settings they contained.
    If the issue is still not resolved, quit Messages again and put all the items you moved to the Desktop back where they were. You don’t need to replace the items you moved to the Trash. Stop here and post again.
    If you later decide that you don’t like the results of steps 2 and 3, you can undo them completely by quitting Messages and restoring the items you deleted in those steps from your backup.

    By internal, I assume you're referring to your systems (boot) drive. Is it, by chance, a partitioned dive?
    Also…although many people successfully use their systems drives as scratch disks, over time you'll have better results using a dedicated drive for your media.
    Good luck.

    Most of this type of errors (ORA-600) you need report to Oracle Support or check the metalink for released fix or possible workaround.
    Anyway this error is fixed in:
    10.1.0.4 patchset
    9.2.0.7 patchset (released for Windows only, for other platforms expecting soon)
    10gR2 (not released yet)

  • ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments

    Hi,
    I got this error:
    ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [ttcgcshnd-1], [0], [], [], [], [], [], []
    when i execute this SQL
    select * from br_portal_bill
    from Java
    to Oracle9i
    and I got correct result from PL/SQL, may I know how to fix this problem?

    Hi,
    What is the problem in apps? during which operation you are getting this error? be clear in your question.
    The solution, I believe may be something to do with tempfiles, so drop the tempfiles and recreate it as:
    SQL> alter database tempfile < path of the tempfile > drop;
    Then recreate it
    SQL> alter tablespace < temp tablespace name > add tempfile < path of the tempfile> size < size which you want > reuse;
    Hope this solves.
    thanks

    Hi,
    create pfile from spfile;
    shutdown immediate;
    edit the changes now in pfile
    startup pfile='/////' open;
    spfile is not a binary file, it will not accept any changes but in 10g we have to create
    spfile initialy it runs with pfile until you create spfile.

    I started to receive this error in alert log file at May 28.
    Refer metalink note 47449.1 for this problem.

For as much as I know about being a DBA it could have been the magic Oracle fairy that fixed it :-)

    again then I found the above error again . Now I am sure that  this 'package' is the main culprit .
    Now would anyone please help me how I drop this package manually  ?

    Hi,
    Glad to know that its solved.
    The cause of this issue is not known. It is believed that importing into a database where these pipelined functions already exist may be the cause, but testing has failed to reproduce the problem.
    In one of the bugs logged for a similar issue,  problem will normally happen only on upgrade and not under regular running of the DB. Therefore, it should be of relatively low impact to the real users. Also, Upgrading to 11g you shouldn't encounter this problem.

  • ORA-00600: internal error code while using UpdateXML to update xml content

    Hi,
    I have been using the UpdateXML command to replace content of xml stored in XMLType. It was working absolutely fine.

    ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [qmcxeUpdateXml:2.1], [], [], [], [], [], [], []
    The table uses a Free Test Index.
    I searched the forum and found from the given link https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2352772 that corrupted Index may be the cause of this problem. I'm still clueless :(
    Can someone help me?

    Hi sprightee,
    That thread you found seems to be a different problem (Ora-600 argument is different)
    I think you have hit bug 6811908, at least if Odie is correct about your version.
    Bug says No workaround - Fixed in 11.1.0.8
