How to format new HD and do a fresh install on used computer

i just bought a new-to-me used mac pro with a new hard drive and i want to install yosemite on this drive. i haven't done this before so i am at a bit of a loss.
the hard drive is not formatted since it is a new hard drive and there is no data on it. i do have access to my old mac pro which does have internet access.
how do i format this hard drive if it is in a new computer with no OS on it?
also is this the correct URL for installing yosemite on this computer?

i mean, is this as simple as downloading the yosemite installer to the desktop of this machine, connecting the two machines via firewire cables and double-clicking on this installer dmg?
Pretty much. However, with an unformatted drive, I'm not certain what will happen if you try to start up the new-to-you Mac Pro in Target Disk Mode.
To boot it into Target Disk Mode, hold down the T key during restart. If you have a monitor connected, you'll see a bouncing FireWire symbol on the screen.
Connect the two Macs with FireWire and the TDM Mac will show up as a Hard Drive on the other, normally-booted Mac. Run the installer and choose the drive that is on the TDM Mac. If it doesn't show up, try opening Disk Utility and see if you can see the drive--I kind of doubt this will work. If you do see it, you can Partition it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with a GUID Partition Table (Options button on the Partition Tab).
FireWire Target Disk Mode is what you'd search for.
If TDM doesn't support an unformatted drive, you will have to use Internet Recovery to format the drive, or do as previously suggested and put the drive in your other Mac Pro and format/install there.

    Ahhh, well  you never mentioned that before. You need to contact your friend from whom you purchased the computer. He/She should have any and all install discs for any third-party software included as well as for OS X and the original pre-installed software.
    Apple will gladly sell you replacements for any discs that did come with the computer originally, but they will not do anything for you because you purchased the computer used. If it's in warranty still, then you can get any warranty covered things taken care of through AppleCare:

    Hi,
    First upload the file into an internal table. If you are using a file that is on application server. Use open dataset and close dataset.
    Then :
    Loop at it.
    *insert or modify as per your requirement.
    Endloop.

    Howard has the easiest answer. Or at least, cheapest, since you don't need to purchase an external CD/DVD drive.
    The "demo" software from Microsoft's site is exactly the same as what's on the DVD. Install that and activate it with the key in your software box.

    There are two options for installing Office for Mac if your Mac doesn't have a DVD drive.

    go to library settings 
    Change new button order and default content type
    set your custom content type to be #1
    when you upload new document it will automatically have your custom content type

    I have received the file and read it, based on your further explain, I know your requested more clarity. In my view, the requested could be done via VBA code or Select function in other dataset, like Access/SQL. (Because before we count the new
    customer and return customer, we might to filter them via rule, the formula need to assign the customer one by one. So, it's inefficient)

    Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
    In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?

    I went into the PC settings and tried to change the display resolution. This changes the size of all  the icons (not only Adobe) but it does not solve the problem when I open an Adobe application (Photoshop or Illustrator)... The PC is run under Windows 8.1 and my display resolution is 3200x1800 (but again, when I change the settings for a smaller resolution, only the size of the icons is affected. Once I open the software, the problem is still there, extra-small toolbars...). Help!!!

    Anything before CC is not high-DPI compatible. Feel free to continue to experiment with your system settings.

    Yes.
    You can authorize up to 5 computers to play itunes music ( pre-itunes plus).  There is no limit on itunes plus ( all itunes music for the past several years) and imported music.
    You can sync as many ipods/ipads/iphones as you like to each of your computers.

    Thanks for your response, but if you read my first mail, it's the original serial number that I don't have. I bought the original LR as download and have misplaced the serial number. Is there any way to find it???

    1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
    iTunes will wipe the iPod but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPod with it.
