How to get bode plot in lab view

Hi all,
I'm just starting with lab view.
We have NI PXI system.
I need frequency responce of a servo motor i.e. bode plot,
I'm using labview 8 ,we have PXI 7352 motion controller.
I'm very confused as where to start and what is the in put to the motor.
can any one help me?

Hello,
I'm not so sure that using a motion control card is the way to go about finding the frequency response of a servo motor. In order to do this, you would give the motor a varying sinusoidal voltage and then measure the voltage output of a velocity sensor. Hi Michela,
since the VI you want to modify is part of a Toolkit, I suggest you to copy the whole block diagram in a new VI and then save it in a new location.
Place the DB List Tables.vi on a block diagram, double click on it and go to the tab "Window -> Show Block Diagram "
Select "Edit -> Select All" to select the whole block diagram and select "Edit -> Copy"
Open a new VI and select "Edit -> Paste"
Save the new VI
In this way you can modify everything you want without overwriting the Toolkits VIs.

How do I get a true "full screen" view in the new version of Iphoto without the edit tools showing? Weirdly enough, the help manual promises such a "full" view, which was always available in my earlier version of Iphoto.

I am using Labview 10. I have connected a signal generator, a LP RC filter and an oscilloscope. I am using Labview in order to control the generator (sine with frequency sweep) and acquire the signal from the scope. I want to plot the Bode diagram without using the transfer function, from the amplitude of the sine signal and the frequency.

Are you using the CD Bode Plot VI or the SI Bode Plot VI? For the CD plot you must use a transfer function. Below, please find a link to an example on how to create a Bode plot without using the toolkit.

One of the best way to know which views to use is doing select * from dict where table_name like 'xxx';
For example in your case you needed to know about the indexes and triggers so

How to shutdown the PC using Lab View

We are doing UPS project. In this project we have to shutdown the PC if there is a battery low condition. I want to know whether is their any library function in Lab View to shutdown the PC. And also we want make this labview to run in background whenever PC turns ON, is their any way to make Lab View VI to run in background process. We are also planning to send UPS Status through SMS message to specified mobile number using modem, is their any way to do this using Lab View. Please help me in this regards.

How to make bode plots in Labview 7.1 without using Control Toolbox

I'm trying to make a bode plots from transfer function using Labview 7.1. My installed labview not contains any toolbox, so I have to create the block diagram of bode plots my self. I have a problem when creating the phase bode plots for polinomial with conjugate roots pairs. Suppose the polinomial is ax^2+bx+c, with a,b,c is the polinomial coefficients. If b coefficients is negatif, i have no problem, because the phase is start at 0, and the final value is 180. But if the b coefficient is positive, the phase plots starts at -180 and it's final value is 0. So, if there is any one who can helps me to give any solution, i'll really appreciate that. Or if there is any of you who had made the program to create the bode plots from a transfer function, i hope you can share the code with me. Thank you.

How to get a message in a view which was raised in another view?

Hi All,
I have used the view manager message serviice to add my custom error message in BT126H/Apptdetails view. So if the validation fails then the message is displayed on the screen . But when I am saving the transaction the error message is getting disappeared and I am able to save the transaction. So just before saving ie in the method EH_ONSAVE in overviewset view I will query that message but as it was added in the appt details view I am not getting that message in overview set .
Can anyone tell me how can I get that particular message in overview set?

In your Subinventory LOV add Bin variable using it Query tab. which has Bind VAriable And View Criteria section.use Bind Variable section. those are in the view object level.
then your all lov include view object select and choose it View Accessors section. it has your lov and Edit your Subinventory LOV and then popup dialog box. Inside it you can make Inside Parametor section select relevant bind variable name and it need value.

I'm pretty sure the "computer lab" settings are configured and restricted that is why the default address is not working. Basically, if it is not your network more so if the network is secured, then definitely, you will not gonna be able to connect unless they had provide you the wireless settings like the SSID and the password. However though, if it is unsecured, then, that's no problem at all.

you said you declare the parameters in the Outbound Plug of V1. now go to view V2 inbound plug Tab and creat one inbound plug
double click on the plug name .it will navigate you to the event handeler method . Now add the outbound parameter variables in the
parameters
For example : V1firing the navigation plug

wd_this->fire_out_to_view2_plg(
    a =      'ABCD'                           " string
you can retrive the value freely in v2 inbound event handeler

Hi. How do I get back to the regular arrange view where I can see all of my tracks in the arrange window. I had double clicked on one of the tracks which was a rex file. I wanted to see what the slices looked like. Doing so just brought me to a new arrange looking window with the one rex file track as the only track. And now I can't get back.

How to get initial value of Child View from Parent View in ADF?

I am typically from a Oracle forms background and new to ADF.
In ADF,how can I populate the initial value for a new record in child view from the parent view?
For example.. using standard Departments and Employees tables which has parent child relation ship.
If I want to create a new employee.. how do I get the initial value for department_id of my employee record(employee table) from departments table in ADF?

USer, please tell us your jdev version!
If you have setup the data model in a way that it reflects this relationship (should be automatic if you use the 'create business components from table' wizard) this is pretty easy.
To check this, open the application module and select the data model. On the right side you see departments view and under it indented the employees view. This indent shows you that the employees view is a child of the departments view. This is all you nee for the model layer.
In the UI you open the datacontrol and open the departments view. One node it the employees view (as child). Now, if you work on a department (e.g. you drag the department view onto a page and drop it as form), you can add a button to create a new child (employee) by opening the employee node in department and drag the createInsert operation onto the page and drop it as button.
Then create a new page and drop the employees view (the child from departments view) on to the page and drop it as form. This form will then display the new row for thew employee of hte department.
Last thing to do is to add anavigation case from the departments page to the employees page and select this on the CreateInsert button.
The form should have the DepartmentId pre-selected.
