How to get past 6700 not recognizing new print heads.
Ok, so I bought a new printer that came with setup cartridges. I wanted one with network capabilites so I took it back to the store and got a new hp 6700 all in one. But when I took the other one back I forgot to include the start upcartridges in the box I took back. So this gave me two sets of start up ink. Once my first set ran out I tried to put the other set in and I got the message Cartridge problem'.
I have gone thru all the troubleshooting steps and it still won't clear. I even went so far as to buy additional brand new cartiridges. So i have now two sets of new ink sets.
I know it is due to me trying to put in the other set of startup ink. But how do I clear the message and get it to work>? I have only printed 300 sheets out of this thing and now I can't use it. And now I am out of warrenty! When I haven't used it but for 2 months. Help I am so frustrated am ready to throw this perfectly good printer in the trash! Bad product configuration not being allowed to use any HP ink that is for use for the same printer!

Please ensure you insert a full set of Non-Setup cartridges, inserting a Non-used startup cartridge to a printer which was already initialized may cause such an error.
Any startup ink is labled with the "Setup" label, ensure all the 4 cartridges in the printer does not labled as a setup cartridge, then turn the pritner off and back on.
If you still see any issue, please clarify the exact error message as listed on teh pritner screen, including any cartridge mark which may appear (it should list a specific color icon).

New to Mac - cannot get past step 1 - installing new printer software!
Hello - just bought my first new iMac and an HP B110 wireless printer. Printer connected and basic printing fine - but the HP software on CD that allows you to add utilities to configure printer for double-sided printing etc does not appear to install. Installing the same CD on a windows machine makes all the HP utilities available - but they just don't install or even get prompted for installation when put into the Mac? I am therefore unable to use the full capabilities of the printer. Can anyone help here please. PS - it's supposed to be easier than this - isn't it?

How to get existing library imported to new itunes install, old library was not backed up or exported. This occured due to Win 7 user profile was corrupt.

I disabled my iPhone 4 and while doing a restore via iTunes, it is downloading and timing out so the download is not completing. any idea how to get past that? I have tried many times and the same error keeps happening.

5530 music player not recognizing new songs
hi all,
new problem for me. the nokia music player is not recognizing new music. it just files them under unknown. the files are properly tagged. the only way to get it to recognize the files is to format the sd card and put the music back on the card.
also after deleting music, the player still has the files in its unknown folder, even after updating the music library.
very frustrating as i use the phone everyday as my main music player. this problem has only turned up in the past couple of weeks, with me changing nothing else on the phone.
any advise?

You can do this to rebuild the library as it is corrupted.
Restart your device and then refresh your library. If this doesn't help then;
Connect the phone to your pc/lappy and put in 'Data transfer' mode.
To delete the library files:
- Ensure you can see hidden files in Windows Explorer:
Windows Explorer .. Tools .. Folder Options .. View
Select "Show hidden files and folders"
- Connect the phone to your PC using the USB cable in "Data transfer" mode
- Find and rename (or delete if you're really brave) files with names like:
E:\private\101FFC31\mpxv1.mpd
E:\private\101FFC31\pcv5.mpd
E:\private\101ffca9\harvesterdb.dat
(assuming the phone's mass memory / card has been connected as E)
Note that the folder names may be different and the files may have prefixes - eg: mpxv1.mpd could be called abcmpxv1.mpd. Basically, you need to search under the Private folder for any files that look similar.
Now just refresh the Music Player library and the job is done.
This will take longer than normal as it's a complete refresh, but it should now work.

Well, I thought I had solved this problem by re-installing PSE 8, since it worked again for a while. However, now inexplicably it has started having the same problem again (i.e., refusing to get past the license agreement screen even though I click "accept") - see this thread for the first part of this problem/discussion:

This time, after trying all the suggested solutions without success, I again tried to just go ahead and re-install PSE8 to solve the problem. HOWEVER, this time I keep getting an error message during the attempted installation (actually, during the beginning part where it makes you uninstall PSE8 before it will install it again) that prevents the installation from completing. The error is shown below:

Anybody know how I get past this mess and get it working again?OK - thanks for trying to help, but I'm outta here. After telling me last night that the Adobe Chat service won't support or help me with my PSE 8 problem because it's too old, I D/L'ed and installed the trial version of PSE 11 last night. It fired up OK last night, but today it said it had some updates to do, so I let it install them. Now, PSE 11 fails to open. I tried to chat with Adobe support, explained the problem and gave them a copy of the error message details.
They then said that the Adobe Chat service will not support or help me solve the problem with their latest version of PSE, because it's the trial version and they only help with the very first launch, and they only support the full version. I guess they expect me to buy the full version when I can't get the trial version to start and they won't help. Gotta say, that won't be happening.

I launched it a couple of times last night, just to see if it was working. But when I tried to launch it today to do some scanning, it popped up a message about updates being available. It installed those, but now fails to launch

For those of you stuck with troublesome Adobe software, I'm glad you have a helpful Forum here, but I can't see it making any sense to buy any more software from a company that has such crummy official support, so unless my copy of PhotoShop goes belly-up sometime I guess I'm gone.

I want to register my iPod with iTunes but the registration form keeps asking for a postcode but there is no field to enter it, although there is an arrow showing where the error is but still no field for entry. Any suggestions how to get past this ?
I can not get to iPhone screen, so no way to get to Settings. That is the problem. When I connect phone to iTunes I get screen asking to insert SIN card. On the phone I'm getting Cinfigure screen asking Launguage , Country or Region, Wi-Fi, ( I can connect to my home wi-fi), and last screen "Activating your iPhone". Replacing System hard drive with a new one. How to get everything over to the new boot drive? Should I use Carbon Copy or does apple have a better untility to do this?
I can't get my current system drive (OSX 10.8.3) to start on the first try. I always have to shut down and restart again to finally see the Apple logo.
Have used disc utility to repair the disc and permissions several times and that works. The next time I boot up, it works fine and I get the apple logo, but then the second time I boot up, it's back to the blank screen again and it only boots after the second try. I have tried this repair three different times now always with the same result. Works right the first try (after the repair) then from the second time on it doesn't work. I just get the white screen until I reboot a second time.
Thinking I should change drives but what's the easist and best way to move everything over to the new drive so it will boot correctly with all my data on it. This is the system drive for a Pro Tools 10HD setup. MacPro 3,1 with 16 gigs ram and OSX10.8.3 on it.

Shut down your computer, install the new drive. While the computer is off plug in the external hard drive that you have your time machine back up on. Hold Option key while the computer turnes on, let go of the option key once you get a grey screen. Shortly after you'll see a list of bootable drives, select the one that has your time machine back up on it and boot into that drive.
From there go into disk utility, format your new drive too, osx extended journaled ( I think, double check that, its been awhile since ive had to do this), hit format
Exit disk utility and then you can use time machine to copy all your exisit data to the new hhd and then your pretty much done.
There is also a program called Carbon Cloner that will do esentially the same thing however I've never uesed it. -
I cannot email a photo using iPhoto "share. I keep getting "username/password not recognized". I used to use this function all the time but all of a sudden, I keep getting this message.
In iPhoto, open Preferences (under iPhoto in the menu bar) and click the "Accounts" tab on top. Make sure your email account(s) is/are set up there correctly, just as they are in Apple's Mail. Make sure the password in included.
