How to get report parameter in XML file
hi all,

template.
parametres should be displayed on output.
how to do it.
anyone help pls.
thanks
rajesh
Hi,
Parameters appears in final XML file : It's describe in the XML Publisher Administration And Developper Guide.
You can use <?PARAMETER_NAME?> in your RTF file for example.
Documentation extract
parameter Attributes:
• name (Required) - the parameter name that will be referenced in the
template.
• dataType - valid values are: "character", "date", "number"
• defaultValue - value to use for the parameter if none supplied from the
data
• include_in_output - whether this parameter should appear in the XML
output or not. The valid values are "true" and "false".

How to get the parameter from Java Script into the Parameter crystal Report
Hi All,
Crystal Report is integrated with Oracle 10g. I created the base SQL query for col1, col2, col3 and col4. Java Script pass parameter value (185) to Col1.
My question is how to create crystal report to make Col1 as parameter and how to get the parameter value 185(Col1) from Java Script. Is there any additional code I need to include in the crystal report?
FYI.
Java script sends the right parameter value. There is no issue in java script.
This is an automatic scheduled process when batch runs, Java script should pass the parameter value and the crystal report should get the value and produce the output report. Not sure if this is an application question or if you are trying to hook into Crystal Reports parameter UI? If the later then no option other than report design. If an application then I can move this to the Java Forums.
If you are asking how to alter the parameters I suggest you remove the Java reference and post a new question so it's not confusing the issue.

How to view AR dunning letter XML file (raw data)?
Hi,
Can anybody tell how to view AR dunning letter XML file (raw data) as I like to modified the dunning letter and like to know which fields I can add to our dunning letter layout. thanks.Hi
These are the steps you need to do to get the output in XML Raw format.
Step 1
1- Go to System Administrator -> Concurrent -> Program - Define
2- Query the Dunning Letter Print
3- Set the format output as XML
Step 2
1- Ftp Oracle E-business suite Server
2- Get the file ARDLP.rdf from $AR_TOP/reports
3- Open the report using Oracle Reports
4- Change the output to XML.
ARDLP.rdf is a report provided by Oracle Corporation so it is a good idea to make a backup of the same,
before making any changes. Hope this will help.

How-to use Excel for the XML file input?
Hello all,
Following our discussion with Gerhard Steinhuber on the very nice tutorial from Horst Schaude , "How to upload mass data via XML File Input" , I am starting this new discussion.
In the comments section of this previous cited tutorial, Rufat Gadirov explains how to use a generated XML from Eclipse instead of your XSD file as your source in Excel.
However, in spite of all the instructions, I am still facing the same issue in Excel when I try to save my file as XML : "The XML maps in this workbook are not exportable".
What I try to do is to create one or more Sales Orders with multiple Items in it from a XML File Input, using excel to enter data.
The part with the File input is working (if I directly upload my file to the webDAV, it creates a sales order instance with multiple items).
The only missing part is the Excel data input that I cannot make work. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Here is my XML file that I try to use as a source in Excel before inputing data from Excel:

I suppose that as you have tried to construct a map from the schema, you have taken the elements from the List level down. In this case I also can't export the map.
But if you take the elements from the level MySalesOrderUploaded down, you'll get the exportable map (screenshots)

How to get string value from xml in JSF??
In JSF How to get string value from xml, .ini and properties file. I want to get string value from xml or text to JSF
Just use the appropriate API's for that. There are enough API's out which can read/parse/write XML, ini and properties files. E.g. JAXP or DOM4J for xml files, INI4J for ini files and Sun's own java.util.Properties for propertiesfiles.
JSF supports properties files as message bundle and resource bundle so that you can use them for error messages and/or localization. -

How to create Inbound Idoc from XML file-Need help urgently
Hi,
can any one tell how to create inbound Idoc from XML file.
we have xml file in application server Ex. /usr/INT/SMS/PAYTEXT.xml' we want to generate inbound idoc from this file.we are successfully able to generate outbound XML file from outbound Idoc by using the XML port. But not able to generate idoc from XML file by using we19 or we16.
Please let me know the process to trigger inbound Idoc with out using XI and any other components.
Thanks in advance
Dora ReddyHi .. Did either of you get a result on this?
My question is the same really .. I am testing with WE19 and it seems SAP cannot accept an XML inbound file as standard.
I see lots of mention of using a Function Module.
Am I correct in saying therefore that ABAP development is required to create a program to run the FM and process the idoc?
Or is there something tht can be done with Standard SAP?
Thanks

How To: Get encoding of a remote file
How To: Get encoding of a remote file
Java EE
URL url = new URL ("http://www.someSite.com/myCsvFile.csv"); // comma separated
InputStream is = url.openConnection().getInputStream();
InputStreamReader reader = new InputStreamReader(is);
System.out.println("reader.getEncoding(): " + reader.getEncoding());
For both an ISO-8859-1 file and a UTF-8 file I get the following print out:
reader.getEncoding(): Cp1252
Could it have something to do with this warning during boot the .war?
[WARNING] Using platform encoding (Cp1252 actually) to copy filtered resources, i.e. build is platform dependent!
If I use local files it prints ISO8859_1 for one of the files. All of that is because the HTTP server attaches a charset to every response. That's what you are seeing. The server may be using some logic to determine the actual encoding of the file it returns, or it may simply be using a hard-coded charset which may or may not be suitable for reading the file. The latter is unfortunately more likely.
By the way if you receive an XML file over HTTP, and the HTTP charset differs from the encoding declared in the XML document, there's a rule which says the HTTP charset takes precedence. (I don't know where that rule is documented, but I have encountered that situation in real life -- the data came from a Google application -- and that rule was indeed the right thing to do.)
If you're still under the impression that there's something which can look at a file and determine what encoding was used to produce it, let me tell you that there isn't. Sure, there's that XML prolog thing which works for XML files (if they weren't botched by the producer), but for text files in general there's no way to determine their encoding. Short of asking the person who created them, that is. -

My "itunes library" folder is empty. My libray music (prior to upgrading itunes) is now in an .xml file in my itunes location under my music. How do I extract/convert this .xml file to a Itunes database and restore my Itunes music library??? Thanks, Tom
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
