How to get rid of blue bar at top when tethering?

I would like to get rid of the blue bar at the top og my Iphone 4 when it is tethering its internet connection. What is interesting is my girlfriends iphone does not show this blue bar when tethering. Instead it shows a small icon in the top left next to the signal indicator. Could this be a carrier tweak. We both use AIS in Bangkok Thailand but her phone was originally bought from True mobile and mine was bought in China at an Apple store. Of course it is not a fake Iphone for any of you skeptics. I checked the serial with Apple in canada and it is real. I even had it in for free warranty repair one time in Bangkok.  Any help would be appreciated. I don't like this blue bar and want mine to appear like hers. It cuts the screen shorter and limits my use of the phone while tethering.

  • How to get rid of black bars on top, bottom and sides??

I am exporting a project from Adobe Premiere Pro (CS3) that is in HD (widescreen) format. The original video is HD, the size option I chose for the project is HD, everything is showing fine when I look at it in the Program window. I admit I am a bit of a novice Premiere user, so I do need a little help with the exporting as there are a ton of options. This is what is happening: When I export, whether to AVI or Quicktime my project comes out with black bars all the way around. Not like letterboxing on top and bottom as when you have a widescreen video exported to a standard 4:3 size, but almost like a 16:9 video, shrunken down a little with a 16:9 black box put around it. What the heck am I doing wrong. I'm sure it has something to do with some option on exporting, but I've tried messing around with the export options about 20 different ways. I'm desperate! Please help!
    Thanks in advance!

I have several video clips from iStockPhoto. I don't know what camera's/settings were used, but know that they are all 640x360 px and vary between 25 fps and 30 fps. I also have 3 still images that I have insterted that I formatted to be 640x360 to keep everything the same size. Everything appears correct when viewing the project as I've built it. I'm attaching a few screen shots of the most recent settings for export, though these are not the only that I have tried. Everything comes out with the same result.
I can't insert screen shots of my settings for some reason (?) but here is some info on my most recent try. I chose to export as a Microsoft DV AVI. Then in the Video options I'm using the DV NTSC codec. For size, I chose the D1/NTSC Widescreen 16:9 (1.2) option.
As for other times I've tried this, there are only 2 other codecs to choose from when saving as a DV AVI. I've tried both of them too. Everything has had the same result. I've tried a Quicktime file as well.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to the best file/codec/setting combination?
    Thanks,
    Holli

  • How do get rid of the google search box when I first open Firefox?

How do get rid of the google search box when I first open Firefox?

Firefox 4 and later versions use a new build-in home page named <b>about:home</b> with a Google search bar on it.
That about:home page only shows some snippets and has a button to restore the previous session if applicable.
If you want a home page with extras then set another page as the home page like www.google.com as used in Firefox 3 versions.

  • How to get rid of title bar of a quicktime window?

    The main problem:
I want to display the title info etc about each track as they play in iTunes. How can I do that on an otherwise black screen (desktop) (I don't want to use the visualizer with its psychedelic patterns).
    Background:
I want to play music from iTunes (many pieces in a row - for like a full day). While this is happening I want the title etc of the tune to be displayed on the screen, like white smallish text against a black background in the lower right hand corner. At the same time I want slides to be displayed on the screen.
So, with iPhoto I can run a slide show but only while one piece of music is playing.
Instead I can have the desktop slowly change (from system preferences) with images from a folder every 5 seconds. That's not too bad. Looks good, actually, except for that annoying menu bar at the top! Well, black tape can hide that one (or a second display and move it over there). Now iTunes can play away all day.
As to how to get the title etc of the song playing displayed I was thinking about somehow extracting it from iTunes with applescript, then paste it into the text track of a quicktime movie, and display that little movie in a small window. I have figured out how to get rid of the controller from the window. But, I can not figure out how to get the title bar of the quicktime window to go away - that is I want a window with nothing around it, neither controllers nor title bar nor anything. How do I create such a window. Any good ideas out there?
Or is there a totally different way of obtaining the same effect?
    Thanks.
    G4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hi,
You could try posting at the QuickTime discussion area. There might be an iTunes visualizer that allows you to make a slideshow with track info. It has been a while since I tried making a SMIL file, but I think you could do what you want with that. Not sure how you create a streaming text of track information. I would have to do some reviewing.

  • How to Get Rid of White Stripe At Top of Firefox Browser

I have the current version of Firefox installed. Recently, perhaps with the most recent install, I'm not exactly sure, a white stripe appeared at the top of the browser, right under the search and URL boxes at the top of where websites would normally show, a white stripe about a 1/2 inch thick has appeared. Not on every single site, google.com works fine, but for example, it blocks out the home, connect, discover and me tabs on Twitter. Or if you go to mozilla.com, the tabs at the top of the mozilla site briefly show, then are blocked by the white bar. You can't click on any of them, even if you have your mouse pointed at the right spot. You can refresh the screen and they'll briefly show again, but not long enough for you to click on anything.
I've run a number of search engine queries trying to find out how to get rid of this problem, but I'm only finding resolutions for webmasters, not for end users who have to deal with this problem on the other end of the browser.
Anyone know how to get rid of this nuisance? I'm about ready to uninstall Firefox because its useless on many sites with buttons and tabs on top.

I shut down all but one of the extensions, and that seems to have resolved the problem. Thank you!
Now to figure out which extensions I need, and which I don't, because I don't have a clue. I don't remember installing most of these, I only recall one or two (nothing looks spammy like funmoods, but still don't remember when or why these were added...)

    Thanks in advance

should I change the type of this column to integer or long ?
The datagridview is binded to binding source and a list ( Of).
    Mike,
I'll show you an example that shows the correct way to do this and a another way if you're stuck using strings in exponential format. The latter being the "hack way" I spoke about Friday. I don't like it, it's dangerous, but I'll show both anyway.
In this example, I'm using Int64 because I don't know the range of yours. If your never exceeds Int32 then use that one instead.
First, I have a DataGridView with three columns. I've populated the data just by creating longs starting with the maximum value in reverse order for 100 rows:
The way that I created the data is itself not a great way (there's no encapsulation), but for this example "it'll do".
Notice though that the third column (right-most column) isn't formatted at all. I commented out the part that does that so that I could then explain what I'm doing. If it works, it should look like the first column.
The first column represents an actual Int64 and when I show the code, you can see how I'm formatting that using the DGV's DefaultCellStyle.Format property. That's how it SHOULD be done.
The third column though is just a string and because that string contains a letter in it, Long.TryParse will NOT work. This is where the "hack" part comes in - and it's dangerous, but if you have no other option then ...
You can see that now the third column matches the first column. Now the code:
    Option Strict On
    Option Explicit On
    Option Infer Off
    Public Class Form1
    Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, _

  • How to get rid of Quicktime "image" on top right of converted file

I just converted a WMV file to both MOV and MP4 formats.  There is a Quicktime graphic on the top right now that looks like a circular button with the play icon in it.  I have a fully licensed version of Quicktime Pro v.7.  How can I get rid of that image (which comes across kind of like a watermark)?

If you're converting WMV, you're probably using Flip4Mac as part of the QuickTime conversion process. The graphic is likely a Flip4Mac watermark. See: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6418932.

  • How to get rid of rpc.html pop up when browser opens

when using firefox with my comcast home page, i get a pop up saying you have chosen to open rpc.html. how can i get rid of this?

My guess is that there is a "hot spot" that when the cursor rolls over this area it triggers the download of the obnoxious rpc.html coding that drops into a person's download file. Now why someone would go to the trouble of setting up this type of non-consequential ruse if beyond me. Maybe this is just an errant html code glitch? It seems to be localized between Firefox and Comcast (Xfinity). Funny that one message says that each side to this problem is pointing the accusing finger toward the other. Glad, for a change, the computer user is not incorrectly targeted as the source of the problem.
But the issue of a set of volunteers working on the problem and not being able to fix it is disturbing. Hope they (whomever) can solve the puzzle.
I am finding my computer is not able to download Open Office for some reason. Spent ten hours trying to figure this out. Just gave up. I like Firefox but if I continue to have these types of problems, even if not proven to be related, I am going to have to find another solution, somewhere.
