How to get text file from app server and process it.

Hello experts,
I created a test data based form my recording. Now, I do not know where can I find it.
Also, I want to create a program that lets users input the file name in the input parameter
(selection screen) and it would automatically process/split that file. Again, thank you guys

My problem is:
When i try to read from an archived file, the moment archive_open_for_read function module is executed, a popup box appears
asking to choose the name of the archive file to be read.
I have to pass only one Export Parameter i.e. Archive Object.
How to avoid the popup screen from appearing. I want to read all the archived files by default, the values are to be retrived from the archived files and displayed.

Hi,
I probably didn't understand your question, as I think my answer is exactly what you expect.
In an archive object, you may have 1 or more files. If you want to know the list of files in the object, you have to use ARCHIVOBJECT_GET_TABLE.

I am facing problem to get text file from application sever

Hi This is lokesh.
Actually my requirement is to craete sales orders by getting file from other server.for that i have used shell script to connect that server.Ok i am connecting to that different server(not sap server) successfully.
But my problem is getting text file from application SERVER.
That different server people will send the file name as 'DDHHMMSS' (Days,Hours,Minutes,Seconds).
Just suppose if they will send today means that file name will come as 20103025. and with in half an hour if they again send that file file means that file name as '20110025'.
like that file name is always varies.So how can i read that type of text files from the application server.
and one more thing that is there chance to read morethan one text file from application server.
Pls guide me if u know the solution.PLs this requirement is urgent.

System exception while deleting the file from app server in background job

Hi All,
I have a issue while the deleting the file from application server.
I am using the statement DELETE DATASET in my program to delete the file from app server.
I am able to delete the file from the app server when i run the program from app server.
When i run the same report from background job i am getting the message called System exception.
Is there any secuirity which i need to get the issue.

I get all the authorization sto delete the file from application serever.
Thing is i am able to run the program sucessfully in foreground but not in the background .
It i snot giving any short dump also just JOB is cancelled with the exception 'Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE'.
Can anybody please give me suggestion

I had the same problem after I gave my old iPad to my parents and tried to install Netflix. This is what you have to do: Open iTunes on your computer, the one you sync your iPad to. Then go to iTunes Store and search for and download Netflix app. After you download it, if your iPad is set to download new purchases it may start downloading on your iPad. If so, tap and hold to delete the app (because it is trying to install the new version on the iPad) Next step, go to the App Store on your iPad and find Netflix and it should say install since you already purchased it on the computer. Tap to install, and it will say the version is not compatible, tap to download a previous version. Click that and it will install the older version! One more thing, if and when you sync to your computer again it will say something like " Unable to install Netflix on your iPad" Just click the box to never remind you again, because it's trying to sync the newer Netflix app to your iPad, but it doesn't work so it displays the message. Problem in downloading file from app server using CG3Y in to .XLS fomat

I have uploaded file in to application server through a program using open data set with the separater as "|" ( pipe ) . Now the user should be able to download the file from apps server to presenataion server in .XLS format using txn CG3Y. but when we download, the format appears wierd and the data is not consistent across columns in excel. i.e the data which is supposed to be in one column in the excel is in the other column. what precautaions should i take before moving data to apps server so that it will be downloaded in a good format.

Separate each values with TAB space present in the application server .
Currently u r using | pipe character. Instead of that use CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>HORIZONTAL_TAB as delimiter.
Each value will displayed in separate cells in excel sheet when u download it frm app.server

1. Using open data set, transfer , close etc,
   also it will work.
   ( it will download / upload any kind of file from app server)
2. Just make sure the
   FULL PATHNAME and the FILENAME
   are mentioned in EXACT CASE
(small/CAPITAL).
3. U can check thru transaction AL11, to see the file and path.

Download text file from application server to client server.

Hi all,
I am facing a format issue while downloading text file from application server to the client machine.
The issue is that, say I have 6 to 10 lines in my text file in application server. but when i store it on the hard drive,
it shoes all the data in a single line. Where as i need to download data in same format as in application server.

If we want to upload file data from the application server to the internal table, there is no function module or class static method which we can use, we must wirte the code by ourselves.
1. For the file data which has no seperator between field columns.
