  • How to get the page Count of an .epub document

    How does the page is counted for an ebook in Adobe Digital Editions in .epub format and where the total page count is saved?

    This is not exactly what I'm talking about. This is what is written about this suite in the documentation:
    This suite allows you to activate, access, and modify crop areas in Illustrator documents.
    Illustrator maintains a list of crop areas in a document, and these functions allow you to iterate through the list. The active crop area is the one returned by AIDocumentSuite::GetDocumentCropBox(), which is displayed with crop marks, and which is used when saving or exporting to a file.
    That is, using this suite, we can select crop box of the document (area inside crop marks). I choose this area by using the function SetDocumentCropBox or using actions - PlayActionEvent( "adobe_makeCropMark",...
    And how choose a page size of the document, which is selected through menu item Page Setup? Standard function SetDocumentSetup not works - as stated in the documentation, it can be called only in documents opening. :-(

    Hi,
    I would propose reviewing the eText documentation. I noticed that for RTF templates it's difficult explicitly set the length though within an eText template, you can specify the intended length.
    The Oracle post is, in my opinion, convoluted, though it's a point in the right direction

    You should find this information on the configuration page. To print a configuration page, press and hold the green GO button until all of the lights cycle, approximately five seconds, then release the button. The Configuration Page will print.
    You can find more information in this document: Identifying Page Count.

  • How to get the Page Number in CS3 with VB?

    Hi, Everybody
    I use the Visual Basic to read the words and their page number where the Words are at. I want to do it according to Story. Some TextFrame of the Story waw placed in other pages: How can I get the Page number according to the Word that is selected?
    For myStoryCounter = 1 to Document.Stories.Count
    Set myStory = Document.Stories.Item(myStoryCounter)
    For myWordCounter = 1 to myStory.Words.Count
    Set myWord = myStory.Words.Item(myWordCounter)
    myWordContents = myWord.Contents
    Rem ** How to Get the Page Number according to the Word ***
    Next
    Next

    > But I don't understand why Item(1) are set.
    because Word can have more than one parent TextFrame - when split across TextFrames
    only Character have one ParentTextFrame accessed also by ParentTextFrames.Item(1)
    > why Story.TextFrames.Count alway is 0, Is it bug?
    no - it's not bug
    in older IDs - Story.TextFrames collection refer to all TextFrames as containers for Story text
    but in CS3 - collection Story.TextFrames contain all TextFrames inserted as InLine/Anchored objects - same like Story.Rectangles or Story.Ovals
    in CS3 - when you want to refer to TextFrames as containers for Story text - you need to use Story.TextContainers - because now you can link TextFrame and Text-On-Path as Story - Text-On-Path isn't TextFrame

    How to get the page number in section break level?

    Hi Wes
    * Create a Field on the margin.
    * Set its "Source" to "Page Number"/"Physical Page Number".
    * Click "Page Numbering" button.
    * In "Reset At" list box, choose the Repeating frame that surrounds your detail group in the layout.
    This should cause Reports to increment the page number until the "Company" repeating frame resets.

  • How to get the column count at the bottom of the column

    Hi Friends,
    How to get the column count at the bottom of the column
    Thanks
    Raj

    You mean row count? Add another column, click on the fx button and type RCOUNT(1).
    If you want just the total you can make it MAX(RCOUNT(1)), hide this column and then add a Narrative View after your report and enter "Total Number of Records: @n" where "n" represents what order your column is from the left side.

  • How to get the page number according to MarkerID?

    I want to get the page number according to the marker element in fdk. I can get the marktext and markid,How to get the page number according to MarkerID in fdk?

    zhaopeng,
    You need to first get the ID of the paragraph containing the marker (with FP_TextLoc), then get the top-level frame containing the FO_Pgf object (FP_InTextFrame), then get the page containing the FO_TextFrame object (FP_PageFramePage). Here is a function that you can send various objects to in order to get the page ID, including paragraphs (this courtesy of Rick Quatro, originally posted to the Yahoo Framedev list):
    F_ObjHandleT GetPage(F_ObjHandleT oDoc, F_ObjHandleT oObj)
      F_ObjHandleT oFrame = 0;
      IntT iObjType;
      F_ObjHandleT oRow, oCell;
      while(oObj)
        oFrame = oObj;
        iObjType = F_ApiGetObjectType(oDoc, oObj);
        switch(iObjType)
          case FO_SubCol:
          oObj = F_ApiGetId(oDoc, oObj, FP_ParentTextFrame);
          break;
          case FO_Tbl:
          oRow = F_ApiGetId(oDoc, oObj, FP_FirstRowInTbl);
          oCell = F_ApiGetId(oDoc, oRow, FP_FirstCellInRow);
          oObj = oCell;
          break;
          case FO_Row:
          oCell = F_ApiGetId(oDoc, oObj, FP_FirstCellInRow);
          oObj = oCell;
          break;
          case FO_Cell:
          case FO_Pgf:
          case FO_AFrame:
          oObj = F_ApiGetId(oDoc, oObj, FP_InTextFrame);
          break;
          case FO_TextLine:
          case FO_TextFrame:
          case FO_UnanchoredFrame:
          case FO_Arc:
          case FO_Ellipse:
          case FO_Group:
          case FO_Inset:
          case FO_Line:
          case FO_Math:
          case FO_Polygon:
          case FO_Polyline:
          case FO_Rectangle:
          case FO_RoundRect:
          oObj = F_ApiGetId(oDoc, oObj, FP_FrameParent);
          break;
          //endless loop prevention, stops the process when the top-level frame is reached
          default:
          oObj = 0;
          break;
      //if we found the top-level frame, return its page ID, otherwise null
      if(oFrame)
        return (F_ApiGetId(oDoc, oFrame, FP_PageFramePage));
      else return(0);
    ...so, you would do something like this if you have the marker ID:
    F_TextLocT textLoc;
    F_ObjHandleT pageId;
    textLoc = F_ApiGetId(docId, markerId, FP_TextLoc);
    pageId = GetPage(docId, pageId.objId);
    Note: I'm not sure how this handles the case where a paragraph extends across two pages and the marker is located on the second page. My thought is that it might erroneously return the page where the paragraph begins. I don't know how to handle that.

  • Not able to reset the page number in XML Publisher based on each PO

    Not able to reset the page number in XML Publisher based on PO
    Hi,
    I have created a custom purchase report and rtf template. In the rtf template, I have added the page number feature (i.e. Page 1 of 5) from Word in the template. When I run the report for a range of POs, I expect the results as follows:
    I have given 3 POs on single request. (PO#1 has 3 pages, PO#2 has 2 pages and PO#3 has 4 pages), the page number on each PO should look like as follows:
    PO#1 page 1 of 3, page 2 of 3, page 3 of 3
    PO#2 page 1 of 2 page 2 of 2
    PO#3 page 1 of 4, page 2 of 4, page 3 of 4 and page 4 of 4
    But the page number displays on each PO as follows:
    PO#1 page 1 of 9, page 2 of 9, page 3 of 9
    PO#2 page 4 of 9 page 5 of 9
    PO#3 page 6 of 9, page 7 of 9, page 8 of 9 and page 9 of 9
    Here I have to reset the page number based on each PO. If anyone done this already, can you please share with me.
    Thanks,
    Ram.

    Hi
    One clarification please.
    Are you putting Page # of ## in the for-loop section? I mean it should be within For-each@section block.
    Even if this doesn;t work, then try using Insert->Page Break after every PO.

  • How to determine the page count of the front document (pdf-Preview) with applescript?

    Hello, I'm a beinnger apple scripter, and I have 2 questions. First, im trying to find the code to generate a page count for the front document of preview. I tried something like this:
    choose file with prompt "Count the number of pages in this PDF file:" without invisibles
    do shell script "/usr/bin/mdls -name kMDItemNumberOfPages " & quoted form of POSIX path of result & " | /usr/bin/grep -o '[0-9]\\+$'"
    But I dont want to have to choose a file with the prompt, and Im not sure how to get the path or POSIX path of an open pdf that is the front document in prievew to then use that directory to select the file to run the shell script on. This is one step in a much larger sequence of automator/apple script commands for large print jobs.
    The large scale view is:
    1. seleting a group .musx Finale 2014 files and creating pdfs of all the documents
         -Achieved with Automator stuff: [Get selected finder items] [open finder items with Finale 2014] [run applescript to convert to pdf all the open files] (which I have working but without a proper repeat condition)
    2. sorting those those exports into even/odd groups
    3. making the even pages 2 up with a create booklet plugin
    3. combinging even/odd group pdfs in their respective folders
    4. sending the 2 up evens to 1 printer, and the singes to another printer.
    but at this stage in the code/automator this is what i'll need to be doing:
    1. Several pdf documents will be open and I need to determine the page count of the front document.
    2. With that result I need to determine if the pagecount is even or odd.
    3. If its even, I need to save as pdf in a file folder /desktop/PDF Export/Doubles
         - if its odd, I need to save as pdf pages from 1 to (pageCount -1) to /desktop/PDF Export/Doubles, and pages (pageCount) to (pageCount) to desktop/PDF Export/Singles. (example: A 5 page pdf will send pages 1-4 to folder "Doubles", and pages from 5 to 5 to Singles, A 1 page pdf will only send a copy to the folder "Singles." A 2 page pdf will send both pages to "doubles"
    4. once the even/odd pages have had pdfs made in the either or both of the folders, Im going to close the document and repeat for all other open pdfs.
    Which also brings me to my 2nd repeat condition question: how can I repeat (print, save as pdf, close) commands for open files and end the script once all files are closed? This can help me both at this stage, as well the coding stage before in creating the pdfs from open Finale/sibelius .sib/.musx files
    would it be something like this?:
    If front document exists
    try
    tell application "preview"
    <bla bla>
    end try
    end tell
    At stage 1 of the large scale i've gotten the files to export pdfs and close multiple files, but if i say "repeat 4 times" and i have 3 files it can do those commands but it gets stuck trying to repeat the code one more time. I need the repeat amount x to be the # of items in selection from the the original finder window.
    Thanks for the help!

    The following AppleScript will get the POSIX path and filename of the current PDF file. It will just return the integer value for page count. Note: The path retrieved is the actual path to the PDF file, unless it is on the Desktop. In the latter case, the path will be ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Preview/Data/Desktop/filename.pdf.
    The script assumes that the following folders exist, otherwise you will need a try block to test for their presence.
    The AppleScript dictionary for Preview does not provide a page dictionary entry, that would make a repeat loop and page range possible for saving individual page ranges.
    set pdfDoubles to POSIX path of ((path to desktop) & "PDF Export" & Doubles)
    set pdfSingles to POSIX path of ((path to desktop) & "PDF Export" & Singles)
    tell application "Preview"
      -- gets quoted POSIX path and filename
              set pdfFile to (get path of front document)
              set pdfName to (get name of front document)
      log pdfName
              set cmdArg to "/usr/bin/mdls -name kMDItemNumberOfPages " & pdfFile ¬
                        & " | egrep -o \"(\\d+)\""
              set pageCnt to do shell script cmdArg
      display dialog pageCnt
              if pageCnt mod 2 is 0 then
      -- even
      -- save pdfName in pdfDoubles
              else
      -- save pdfName in pdfDoubles
      -- save individual pages in pdfSingles
              end if

  • File Adapter - how to get the file count from a folder

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement that have to poll a directory when the file count is reached to number N (ex:number of files avilable in folder is 5) otherwise it should wait and not pick any of the files. Is it possible to get the file count from a folder using file adapter ?? otherwise please suggest me an approach to achieve this requirement.
    Thanks,
    JJ

    Hi Sarath,
    Thank you for your reply.
    Go with the list files operation of file adapter it will gives you the number of files in the specified folder as you given. . - this step is already done.
    When the number of files reaches your count startup your webservice that which can polls the files. . . - how can i acheive this?? Have to poll the directory and process the number files - please let me know, what could be added to the webservice which is being invoked after cheking file count from parent process.
    The reason for the above question is - we cannot use ReadFile operation in second webservice because it will be automatically triggered when the file is avilable. Also SyncRead operation supports reading one file in b/w bpel process. Kindly explain me the implementation steps.
    Thanks,
    JJ

  • How to start the page count from second page (first is title)

    Hi all,
    I have been using Livecycle for a little while now and think I have got to grips with quite a bit of it to make some fairly simple interactive forms, but I have started to make more complex forms now and although I am able to work a lot of things out, one thing has stumped me. There are lots of threads about page numbering, but none seem to address my problem: I wish to have a 'page number' on the master page (done that) but I have 2 master pages, one is used for the first page (then not at all) and the second master page is used after that, that is the one with the page count on, that way the page number appears at the bottom on every page, apart from the first one. I need a way for the count to 'skip' the first page (as this is a title page and I do not want that numbered) and start numbering from page two of the form, but have it numbered as page 1.
    So basically the document will be Title page (no numbering), then pages after that of the form, starting from '1' shown on the bottom- it is a dynamic form that may change length as the user adds to it. Is there a script that I need to use, and if so how should I implement it? Any help would be appreciated, apologies if this is not very clear!

    Use the Custom object "Master Page n of m" on the second master page.
    Steve
