How to get the process chain name if we know the data target in sap bi

Hi SAP BI Gurus,
Can any help me how to find the process chain name if we know the data target name
i mean if i know the info cube name how to find the relavant process chain which is holding that info cube

Hi R Kumar,
Check the table RSPCCHAIN.
I mean, Use Table RSPCCHAIN and give the local chain tech name in VARIANTE field and search, in out put you will get meta chain name under the field CHAIN_ID.

Hi,
First and foremost let me advice you to be very careful while doing this.
For Rescheduling
RSPC> chain > Goto > Planning view and
click on Execution tab > select > Remove from Schedule and then in Maintain variant of start process reschedule for the day you require it to run.
For terminating active chain
You can start from SM37, find the process WID/PID then go to SM50 or SM51 and kill it. Once its done come back to RSMO and check the request, it should be red but again manually force to red and save by clicking on the total status button in the status tab. This shuld ensure that the process is killed properly.
The next step will be to go to targets that you were loading and remove the red requests from those targets.
Note: For source system loads you may have to check if the request is running in the source system and kill if needed and pull it again.
But for BW datamart delta loads u may have reset the datamarts in case u are going to pull the delta again.

How to get first item of hashMap w/out knowing the key

Hi
can someone tell me if there is a way to get first item from a hashMap when you dont know what the key is. as the get method expects a defined 'key'
reason I am asking this:
I am using struts 2 UI <s:radio> tag. this tag takes a hashmap and creates radio maps. it has a 'value' attribute and if something is passed to this attribute then that radio button is checked by default. the list that contains radio buttons is created dynamically so i dont know what is actually in the hashMap key's. but i do know that key's are string.
so just wondering if there is a way to get first item from a hashmap without knowing the key...

posted in java forums because thought it was a java API/workaround question. gave a little history because i didnt want people to start questioning my use of HashMap for this purpose..
anywhose..i've found a workaround.
If someone has a similar problem:
as the hashmap is being populated dynamically....set a String member of class to contain the first key thats being put in the hashmap. then have struts tag pick up that value.
also, through your post and reading hashMap api...its usefull to know that hasMaps do not gurantee the order of elements in it. So now I am using a TreeMap.

How to find function module exit name when i know the Include

As per my requirement i should change the existing exit. I know the include name but i want to
know exit name. How to find out exit name based on include name. I tried Where-used list but it
is not giving the exit and function module name.Please let me know.

Hello Rajitha,
1. You can do a "where-used" for the include & get the corresponding name of the exit function module.
2. Goto table MODSAP & in the field MEMBER pass the name of the function module & you will get the Exit Name in the NAME.

is there any way to know the process chain if u cud know the chainid fro the same?
i had find the option "find" that does not have the finding PC by its ID
by description it is taking ages to find one PC

Go to RSPC
Just try to widen the window ,by moving ur cursor to the part where blue screen and greyish screen meets ..
Once you widen ,you could see the
Obj name ,no and description of PC
Also you can try giving ur description in
RSPC1.

How to run the process chain immediately?

Hi experts,
I'm a beginner for this field, Suppose there is a process chain called "X" which is used to extract the data from SAP R3 side for the purpose of getting the data for BI query called "Q1". "X" has been schedule to run every day in the night in BI side and also there are jobs have been schedule in SAP R3 by using the T-code lbwe. (they also runs once per day in the night)
According to above explanation, If I execute the BI Query today, I can view only up to yesterday data. Suppose I have updated some data in the tables at SAP R3 side today. therefore immediately I want to see the changes when I execute the BI query...
Can you explain me how can I do this? Please explain this in Step by step if you can.

HI ,
If u want to schedule the PC immediately, then go to the change mode of the process chain and double click on the start process select immediate button so that the process chain will run immediately after scheduling the PC.
What job would u like to run in R/3 ? Is it V3 to move the records from the queue delta / unserialized v3 update to delta queue, if so then go to LBWE --->job control and do the setting there.
Note: U may get one box for o/ p device then type LP01 or ask the BASIS TEAM .

Different Ways to stop process chain
1)SM37 -->Kill Job
2)SM50/sm66- ->Kill process
3)RSPC>Job Log>Make the process RED forecefully.
4)RSPC>Process chain> main Menu"Remove from Scheduling" OR
5)se37-->RSPC_API_CHAIN_INTERRUPT
give RFC BW system name(technical) and process chain name(technical)
Steps 1 -3 stops the chain running in process
Steps 4-5 stops the chain AFTER the current job which is running is completed as sucessful or Failure by nature.
Rationale - 4-5
This function will only remove the jobs from schedule, which did not yet run. It will not kill running jobs, as this may leave the system in an inconsistent state, moreover killing processes is possible for synchronous processes only anyhow. This means, that there will be no errors with interrupted chains, which on the other
hand means an interrupted chain is not restartable. So for a running chain this function is intended to be an emergency break only. You can use it, however, to remove a scheduled chain from schedule, such that it does not start except by your product.

Event is not getting triggered in the process chain

Hi,
We had a process chain which was triggered by an Event, and it was running fine until few days ago. So I removed the chain from schedule and re-scheduled it again with these details:
File load: every 2 hrs
Process chain setting
Immediate tab: start immediately
After event: "event name" and "parameter name" and periodic job: ticked
I activated the chain and scheduled it. But the event is not triggered and the chain does not start. I even tried to trigger the process chain manually in sm64 but the process chain did not start.
Can someone please tell me steps to automate the event triggering and also any setting that should be taken care off in the info package and the process chain.

Hello Ram, to start your Process Chain by an event, then you need to maintain the Start process of the process chain.
Select "Direct Scheduling".
In the Change Selections, press After Event. Put your event name and parameter (if any). Also click on Periodic job.
Press Save. Then Activate and Schedule your process chain. All your processes should turn green.
To verify, right-click on the Start process and select Displaying Scheduled Job(s).... You should see a job called BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER in a Released status. You can click on the job and look at the start conditions.
When you go to trigger the event, use the same event name and parameter (if any) as in the start condition. Your process chain will then execute. To insure, use RSPC to view your process chain and press the Logs icon (last one at the top).

in SM37 select the job status as active and execute it, in the next screen you will find only active jobs select your job (ABAP Program) click on step - > in th next screen put the cursor on the job -> select Goto option in menu bar click on variant it gives you the field names and desc like chain name, variant etc information.

Hi,
Scheduling the process is the only way to check whether it is running fine or not. The process chains should be checked first in the Dev server and then in the QA server before transported to Prod.
You can also check the process chain using the "check" button to see if the processes are in the proper sequence or not.
There is a "log" button to keep track of the progress of the chain

How to stop the process chain on every saturday and delay until sunday 6 am

We have a maintanence window on every saturday until 6 am on sunday.
My question: I don't see any option in the start variant of the process chain under restriction to stop the process chain on saturday and delay the run until sunday 6 am. Any idea?

Hi Suresh,
If you want to change in the Production system, you may not have the Authorizations. If you have authorization;
1. Goto RSPC-->double click on the Process chain
2. double click on the Start variant of the process chain-->Click on the EDIT button
3. Click on the CHANGE SELECTIONS then click on the DATE/TIME Tab;
4. There pls give from which date this process chain has to run to with your requirement time,
then give the time and select the periodic job and select with your requirement.
Save and exit.
It is done!!

How to finish ABAP program in the process chains

Hello All,
we have one ABAP program in the process chains which was created in the BW system only.
this program we are using in the synchronous mode. according to my understanding we can not capture the failure of the ABAP program when it is in the synchronous mode.
but i found a way through one this forum topic to capture the failure of the program through asynchrous mode by calling a function module RSPC_ABAP_FINISH but it was with the R/3 program in BW.
can we use the same function module for BW program also.
kindly let me know what steps we need to follow for the BW program in the process chains to capture the failure status.

and than also an abap which can end red or green:
PARAMETERS: red RADIOBUTTON GROUP radi,
green RADIOBUTTON GROUP radi.
IF NOT green IS INITIAL.
MESSAGE i162(00) WITH 'Status' 'Green'.
ELSE.
MESSAGE e162(00) WITH 'Status' 'Red'.
ENDIF.
with i-message process ends green, with e-message process ends red.
