How to Identify duplicates in OBIEE Answers.

Hi Friends,
Please help me here.
I am having a secnario in OBIEE Answers.
How to identify duplicates using combination either first names with Last Name or with DOB in OBIEE.I dont have access to RPD currently.
Also please let me know using RPD also how i achive this .
Example :
Cusomers table:
First_Name Last_Name DOB
ABC XYZ 29-Mar-2011
ABC XYZ 28-Mar-2011
ABC PQR 29-Mar-2011
ABC XYZ 29-Mar-2011
Case 1: Check row 1 & row 2 having First_Name & Last_Name duplicate but DOB is differ.
Case 2: check row 1 & row 3 having First_Name & DOB duplicate but last name is differ.
case 3: check row 1 & row 4 having First_Name,Last_name & DOB duplicate.

option 1:
go to advanced tab of that particular report...
You find check box Check this box to issue an explicit Select Distinct
option 2:
Uncheck the following item in Physical layer database features.
DISTINCT_SUPPORTED

Iphoto - how to identify duplicates?

When merging events, the old version of iphoto would identify duplicates which then made it easier to delete those duplicates. Having updated to ilife 11, the new version of iphoto does not seem to have this function. I synched my iMac with my Mac book and for some reason, some events were duplicated or even tripliated, thus I need to delete a lot of photos resp. events. I need to make sure that I do not trash singlets...HELP!

How did you sync your iMac and MacBook? iPhoto doesn't have a 'sync' feature. Did you import one Library to another?

Created .rpd file but how do I connect in OBIEE Answers?

I have created a .rpd file using an Essbase connection but am now stuck on how I connect an Answer query to it in the OBIEE dashboard tool itself. When I create a new analysis, I do not see my newly created .rpd in the list of available connections. Should the RPD be saved in a specific folder? Do I use some fucntion within OBIEE to connect to the newly created .rpd? Am I missing out a section where I connect to the .rpd file, like in FR when you connect to a new Datasource?

Hi,
You need to make the repository online for queries. Follow this:
- Login to Weblogic Enterprise Manager http://SERVER:7001/em
- On left pane, go to folder Business Intelligence --> coreapplication
- Go to "Deployment" tab and then "Repository" tab.
- click on "Lock and Edit configuration"
- Select repository to load, enter repo password and then click Apply.
- Then click Active Changes and then Restart all obiee services.
Once this is done, you'll be able to see and work on your presentation schema in Asnwers.

How to identify duplicate images?

After recently upgrading to PSE5 I've noticed that my catalog contains various duplicate images. On closer inspection these are identical images (same file name) stored in different directories, so I'm happy that PSE is working correctly.
Can anyone suggest a method to identify these duplicate images, which will then help me to delete them?

Along the same line as Colin: If you look on Google for "finding duplicate photos" there are lots of software products, both free and shareware, which claim to find duplicates on a PC. I have not used any particular one, so I can not recommend any particular one.
You could find the duplicates, remove one set, open Organizer and do a Reconnect All Missing and then Remove From Organizer. This would clean up the Organizer. The hiccup would be if you had Photo 1 and SamePhoto 1 in Organizer with SamePhoto 1 tagged. When you delete the file and remove the missing link, you lose the tag and you would have to re-tag Photo 1.
Is there any pattern that all the duplicates are in the same folder (would be easy to remove the one folder) or do they seem to be scattered about?

How to create condition in OBIEE Answer 10g

Hi,
I have two columns in one of my subject area table: Get_Comm_Period and Get_Period. Now I want to add a condition in one of the Answer request like below
Get_Comm_Period <= Get_Period
Can anyone please tell me how to do that because whenever I try to add filter it always ask me to put value, the other column name does not appear.

In a "Create/Edit filter" dialog press "Add" button then choose "Convert this filter to SQL" option. You will get the edit field with a string
"Table"."Get_Comm_Period" <= Then you change it to
"Table"."Get_Comm_Period" <= "Table"."Get_Period"and press ok.
So it's what you want.

OBIEE Answers version 10 presentation variable

How can I use in OBIEE Answers ( version 10.1.3.4.1) a (dashboard)presentationvariable in an other (dashboard)presentationvariable. I have one presentationvariable 'Gerecht'. The other presentationvariable #Instroom uses in the SQL(SELECT #Instroom FROM Bestuur WHERE Organisatie = @{Gerecht}) the variable @{Gerecht}. I have tried several syntaxes '@{Gerecht}' and 'Gerecht' This is not working. Can anybody help me?

I have changed the variable with the cast version as you said. After I run the dashboard I get an error:

The value 'Rechtbank Dordrecht' is the value that I had choosen in the first dashboardprompt. So that seems to be ok. But is there maybe something wrong in the CAST syntax?

How do you identify duplicates?

Since a photo can be assigned to multiple albums, how do you identify duplicates and their source? Upon moving over to Photos, I now see a lot of duplicates showing up and have no idea where they belong so cannot just delete them ;-(

looked in 'common...media core...' and found the new blue trial plugins
also had the duplicates of the new blue plugins in the AE plugins 'effects' folder
deleted the plugins from the 'media core' folder
no more warning signs...

I want to change the default blue up arrow with a green up arrow in OBIEE answers. How to do it?

Do you mean the condition formatting options ? If so I had a similar requirement to create a Green up arrow and an orange 'sideways' arrow. I did the following, all based on a default Windows install using OC4J :
Navigate to :
C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res\s_oracle10\meters\arrow\tri\
I copied up.gif to upgreen.gif and change the colour in a image editor.
I coped up.gif, rotated 90 degrees, changed colour to orange and saved this as sideways.gif
I copied the two new files into the Web services stye folders also :
C:\OracleBI\web\app\res\s_oracle10\meters\arrow\tri
restarted OC4J and presentation services and they are now available in the conditional formatting options, alongside the defaut Blue (up) and red(down) arrows.
** I believe the new pictures need to exist in any other style folders that you are using, e.g "s_hyperion", "s_oracle10", s_custom if you've done your own.

if i didn't enter tha data in name textbox it should dispaly a meassge like:please enter a valid name:

Imported photos and got duplicates - how to identify and remove duplicates?

I am running iPhoto '08 and it has worked very well.
Yesterday, I imported a folder containing photos and I knew that some of the photos already existed in my iPhoto Library. But not concerned, when I know that iPhoto will detect duplicates.
Well, strangely enough, iPhoto did anyway import some of the photos that resultet in me getting in duplicates anyway. The wierd thing though, is that not every "duplicate" was imported. Some of them iPhoto informed med "hey this already exist, want to import anyway?". I choosed that duplicates should not be imported and that should go for all photos that are duplicates.
Now, my question is:
Is there a way in iPhoto to identify duplicates in the iPhoto Library?
If so, it would be great to be able to remove the duplicates!
Anyone got a solution to my issue?

How to identify new records in a table using OBIEE

Hi,
I have price change table as and when a record comes into this table i have to generate an alert. Then show a report with the price changes on which i can invoke an action to go into my transactional system to make the chnage. And once the change is made the process again starts to look for any new price chnage records that are recieved.
Could anyone pls tell me how to identify new records in a table.

Many users can view report at same time.It depends on the server if it can accept those many users at same time.If number of users increases OC4J may not work properly.

Keynote: how can you make Keynote identify duplicate slides

I am new at Keynote, and haven't been able to find a discussion or support to answer a (probably obvious) question: when you have a very large presentation with 150 or so slides, what do you do to identify duplicates? I cannot find anything in drop-down menus, etc. that can help, and I think I may have several in this presentation..... thank you for help.

How to display a horizontal table in OBIEE Answers?

In one of my Client's report the table was aligned in Horizontal manner. I tried all the options in OBIEE Answers and found no option to convert the vertical table to horizontal table in OBIEE Answers. Is there any way to convert the vertical table to horizontal table. If so, please tell me in a step wise manner as i am new to OBIEE Answers it will be easy for me to create my report.

As you said, I tried creating my table in Pivot view. But the only the measure columns are only retrieving values if the column is a CHARACTER column then no value is retrieved. In that column's aggregation rule only the first and last options are working. What to do to retrieve the values of a character column if it is placed in measure section of pivot table.

Problem with LONG datatype in Answers
I run the query in TOAD, and i was identified the error because of what this error is coming... because of DISTINCT...
I have taken care of avoiding that column in ORDER BY by putting the order by on another column..
Now my question is how to avoid the DISTINCT clause in SQL generated by OBIEE...
If the first column in criteria is measure then it avoids the DISTINCT... but if i use measure... group by will come.. and group by should not be used here...
If this is done... my problem will be resolved...
Ofcourse... i would be getting duplicate rows...
Still i want the answer how to avoid DISTINCT?
