How to identify the psa table names in bi 7? i need to know the psa table name in bi 7?
as well as i need to check whether any historical data loads is there for psa for a particular period?
How to filter for a particular data in the psa in bi 7?

Double click on the PSA and CTRLSHIFTF5 --->in PSA properties -->PSA table ..u can find the name here ....
B)as well as i need to check whether any historical data loads is there for psa for a particular period?
usually as SAP best practise we will not keep data in PSA for not more than 30 days or at the amx 60 days..you may not find historical data here..however to find the oldest data -->Right Click >Manage>Give some old date ,say 01.01.2005 in the Request newer than ...and Refresh.....
Other way is to find out in the Data provider i.e in the Cube or DSO ...
How to filter for a particular data in the psa in bi 7?
a)Do not map it
b)in the DTP...Filter it ....i.e from PSA -->CUBE/DSO....
c)Or write a routine also in start routine ...

I wanted to know is there any way through which we can dynamically pass the table name in IMPORT condition.
For e.g.

How to identify the Exploded EAR name from the UI

I need to do a customization in a page, "Manage Employment" (of 'Human Resources' product family)using Jdeveloper. Is there a way to find the corresponding EAR file from the UI.
When I searched in the UNIX box (under /xx/oracle/fapp/products/fusionapps/applications/hcm/deploy) I can see Ext*.jar file in the following EAR directories.

I moved the entire EAR directory and the Ext*.jar to my local machine and created the "Customization Application Workspace". I was able to find out the View object to be customized
using the Filter of 'Customizable Archive' as you suggested.
But when I try to edit the page, the Jdeveloper seems to be hanged and I get the following error in the log.

I use the below memory setting in the Jdev start command script.

Also I have done the appropriate memory settings in jdev.conf and ide.conf files as suggested in the Fusion Applications Developer guide.

PSA table name not visible in the list

Dear All,
I have been trying to delete the data from the PSA tables using the process type Deletion of Request from PSA and the Object type PSA TABLE.
When searching for the PSA table name in the Object Name list, I am not able to get one of the PSA table names (/BIC/B0000505). Though I am able to get all the other table names in the list. (Ex. /BIC/B0000504 , /BIC/B0000506) .
Please let me know the possible reason for this and how to rectify the same so as to include that PSA table name

The table is present in the system (SE11/SE16) and contains data as well.
The problem is, I am able to find the other tables from the same datasource in the list, but am not able to find this only PSA Table in the list.
Has it got anything to do with corrupted PSA table and need to re-tranport the Datasource ??

How to get the PSA name in a Start Routine in the Update Rules of a Cube.

Hi all.
I have an InfoSource that loads data directly in an Infocube.
In the Start Routine of the Update Rules I need to retrieve the PSA table name for that InfoSource, to access it and check some data.
I can't use the PSA name you seen in the DataFlow because it will change once the update rules are transported to another system.

we do it as follows:
first get the request ID:
DATA: tp_request(30) VALUE 'REQUEST'.
FIELD-SYMBOLS: <wa> TYPE ANY, <tp_req> TYPE ANY, <tp_dtp> TYPE ANY.
READ TABLE datapak ASSIGNING <wa> INDEX 1.
IF sy-subrc <> 0. ABORT = 4. ENDIF.
ASSIGN COMPONENT tp_request OF STRUCTURE <wa> TO <tp_req>.
IF sy-subrc <> 0. ABORT = 4. ENDIF.
requnr = <tp_req>.
then we get the table with
SELECT odsname_tech FROM rstsodspart WHERE request = requnr.
you may need to adjust this code, I've just pasted the relevant parts...
another way is to get this info from RSTSODS where the different versions are maintained...

Check the datasources from which the data is coming to the ODS.Take the technical name of the data source.Check in Infosources Tab.There you can find in which infosources the ODS is present.

Hi, I wanted to delete request thru an ABAP program in a process chain. I'm not planning to use the Process Chain variant because it will a conditional delete and I want the latest request to be deleted.

You can get the PSA technical name from the data source.
Double click on data source --> from menu bar --> goto -> Technical Attributes
Here you can find the PSA table name.
or you can fine the PSA Table name from the below table.
RSTSODS - Operational Data Store for the trans
here the entry in the filed -ODSNAME_TECH while provide you the tehcnical name of the PSA table.

CRM_UI_FRAME is the name of the main BSP Application which generates the WEB UI in the CRM system. If what you are searching is a Ztable, search it in your CRM system.

PSA table name different in tiers

We have the usual DEV, QA, and PRD tiers for our BI system landscape. I had to write an update routine for data source 0PM_OM_OPA_1 that references the PSA table used by 0PM_OM_OPA_1. I got the table name by looking it up in table RSTSODS. In the BI DEV system, the PSA is named 0PM_OM_OPA_1_BB and the actual table name is /BIC/B00001765000.
The update rule doesn't activate in the QA system when transported. I find that in the QA system, the PSA is named 0PM_OM_OPA_1_BA and the actual table name is /BIC/B0000870000. These are also the names used in the BI PRD system.
Any ideas of why these names would be different? In each of the systems, 0PM_OM_OPA_1 is a 3.x datasource. I haven't migrated it. What does BA and BB signify?
What permissions would it take for me to edit the update routine in the QA or PRD tier?

Hi Dave,
The PSA table is a client specific table.
So this is different in the landscape and hence the cause for the problem.
This table is generated when the transfer structure gets activated in the relevant server.
Try checking the option of mentioning the PSA table name in the respective servers in routine.
With this option we may be required to change the table name each time, we have a change in transfer structure.

I have an urgent requirement where I ned to find the names of BW Datasources, created for the given table names.
Both the tables and Datasources are in BW system only. I can see the table in SE11 but I am unable to find its associated Datasources in the 'Where Used List'.
Is there any method ?

Check this thread on how to find the DS.
I have the field name, please help me find the data source.
Once you identify your DS you find which all Data targets are fed by trying to see the " Show data flow" in RSA1 for this data source.

How to correct the data in the psa table?

1Q. There are lot of invalid character in the infopackage of say 1million records. it takes lot of time to check each and every record in the data package(PSA)and correct it. i think there is an efficient way to reslove this issue that is going in the PSA table to correct all the records. is it right, if yes how to do it?
2Q. If say there are 30 data packages in the request and only data pacakge 25 has the bad records. if i correct the data in the PSA and push it to the data target, its gone process all the data packages one by one that takes lot of time and delay our process chain job that has depedency on the load. can i just manually process this data package only. if yes how to do it?
3Q. when i successfully correct all the bad records in the data package and push it from the PSA. the request dont turn to status green and have to manually turn this request to green in the data target after i verify all the data packages have on bad records and it is a delta update. is my process right? as it is a delta what are the pitfalls i have to watch for? and the next step after this is compress the request this is very dangerous because this basic cube have lot of history and it will take a long time probably weeks to reload it. how to take precuation before i turn it to stutus green in the data target?

1Q . Update the invalid chars in the filter table using tcode RSKC and also write a ABAP routine to filter out the invalid characters.
2Q. For the incorrect data packet, you can right click on the data packet in the monitor details tab and say update manually. That way you don't need to reload the entire request again.
3Q. When you reload the request or update individual data packet again, the request should automatically turn green. You don't have to turn it green manually. The pitfall is, if you turn a delta request green, you have chances of losing data and corrupting the delta. Best practise is never turn a request green manually.. Even if you compress the requests, you can use selective deletion to delete the data and then use an infopackage with the same selections, that you used for deletion to load the same data back.
