How to implement value only articles in SAP retail.

Hi
I have gone through the sap material on Value only materials, but i am not able to get hold of how value only materials would be implemented in SAP retail. Should we use WERT material type to start with or is there any other way to implement the value only materials.
Any material or links leading to step by step procedure to implement value only materials would be highly appreciated.

mohammed

Material type WERT is correct.
In Material type maintenance you can control at all if a store will be value only inventroy managmenet or both.
Further in the Site master WB02, you can control it on MC level.

  • Value only article(IS Retail)

    Hi
Can anyone help me to know the Value only article process in SAP Retail system .
How in POS level the keys associated with Merchandise category post an issue in SAP central system .
The significance of inventory profile maintained in the site master

    Hi Kumaran,
Value Only articles are called as Article Type WERT
All goods movements for this group of articles are posted to the value-only article. The delivered price and sales price are updated, but not the stock quantity.
To generate listing data for value-based inventory management in sites, you use a background job. You can define this background job with transaction code SM36.
To allow you to manage stocks on a value basis, profiles have been created in Customizing for Valuation and Account Assignment in Profiles for Value-Based Inventory Management. These profiles are valid for the whole client and specify for a site whether and in what form value-based inventory management is allowed. You must assign the profiles to the site in site maintenance.
    Hope this info useful.

  • Value Only Articles

    Hi all,
We have the value only articles set up at the merchandise category level. This is how it functions. We buy as indivitual SKU in the warehouse. The store orders from the warehouse as indivitual SKU. Warehouse  GI out as indivitual SKU and when GR into the store it turns to the group posting SKU. The accounting docs are created in the GI stage. Then this article is sold as a different article  (which has a material master in SAP)  in the POS system.
I would like to know how the moving average price and selling price are determined for the value only articles as this is managed on a value only basis without the quantity. We use moving average price and retail.
    Thanks

  • Merchandise Category: Value-Only Article Categories

    Hello,
Could someone explain to me what is meant by Merchandise Category: Value-Only Article Categories with a real time example ?

Yo, do me a favor - can you explain your question more in detail.
Do you ask in general what a Merch Cat is and/or what you can do with it - sense or nonsense within Trade.
    Markus
Anyway: Maybe this section out of the Retail Standard documentation help:
    http://help.sap.com/ERP2005_EHP_03/helpdata/EN/12/084a37470311d1894a0000e8323352/content.htm
If you need different information - let me know - otherwise be so kind and mark this question as answered.
Also: If you are looking for answers about how to use - or how sell at POS articles on value only article categories - you will find that within the documentation when you open up the library structure (red arrows) - Here you find the difference between Merch Cat articles sales and Merch Cat Hierarchy articles. Usual Merch Cat article sales is Donuts at a Grocer. It does not matter if plain, chocolate or whatever! At POS they press one button to record the sales of Donuts. Usually the remaining donuts will be counted at the end of business day to evaluate further production.
You of course can use all possible varieties within SAP: keep record at article level of a merch cat, record at merch cat level (donuts, even so there are differences) and merch cat hierarchy level (if it makes sense for you).
    Hasta la vista

  • Using BOM's in a Retail System with Value only articles

    Hi
I have a few questions that i would appreciate some assistance on.
Background : I am trying to setup BOMs with articles that are assigned to a Value only Merchandise Cat Article. The BOM process does not allow such an article because the articles are not listed in the Site.
I have setup a Merchandise Hierarchy and assigned a Mercchandise cat group for one of the levels as I want to do Retail costing at department level for the specific group of articles in the specific MC. I have therefore assigned a Value only MC article to that level.
I have updated the Site with the corresponding indicator for the MC to be managed at group level.
All articles in the MC group (value only), are not updated in MARC and hence the error when trying to include this in a BOM.creation CS01
How do i get around this?
I am able to create Sales sets for the finished article and assign the value only articles to this Sales Set article in transaction MM41. What would be the limitations in using this function instead of BOM?
Are there any issues to consider by using BOMs or Sales sets?
The objective is to handle components on an department valuation basis and not on a stock count level hence the MC valua only article.
Please send me any feedback or experiences you may have on this.
    Thanks!
    Pat Pillay

Just wondering if you came up with anything.
My macbook doesn't even have a firewire input, but it does have an ethernet input.
I'll probably need something faster than the USB being that I want to record live drums while listening to other tracks at the same time. You're not the first I've heard mention that ethernet is even faster than firewire.
    Thanks

  • Follow-Up and Replacement Articles in SAP Retail

    Hi everybody,
Iu2019m using SAP Retail and I need to maintain Follow-Up and Replacement Articles.
Iu2019ve created the Follow-Up Categories in the customizing and Iu2019ve assigned replacement article to the original article in transaction WRFFUART.
Does anyone know how the subsequent process works? If I create a Purchase Order or a Sales Order to the original article, does the system automatically replace it by the replacement Article? Iu2019ve tested this but there was no substitution.
    Thanks in advance,
    SN

    Hi Barbara,
I am analysing the functions for Follow-Up and Replacement Articles in SAP Retail ECC 6.0 Ehp. 3. I created Substitution profiles (SPRO: Logistics u2013 General -> Material Master -> Retail-Specific Settings -> Settings for Follow-Up/Replacement Material -> Maintain Follow-Up Categories) and assigned replacement article to the original article in transaction (WRFFUART). I also activated Substitution Processing and Start Replacement logic in Background (SPRO: Logistics u2013 General -> Substitution Processing -> Activate/Process Substitution Processing).
I tested the process steps you posted (ME21N, VL10B, WSUBST_WORKLIST). There was no automatically substitution after creating the outbound delivery. And the transaction WSUBST_WORKLIST just shows u201CNo data available for selectionu201D.
I analysed the application and found the table WSUBST_WORKLIST. It handles the entries for substitutions. It was empty. When I fill the table manually with data and run the WSUBST_WORKLIST the outbound delivery and the purchase order have a new position with the follow-up article but the original article is still there, unchanged.
Why did the substitution not start automatically in background and why is the original article still in the purchase order and outbound delivery?
It is also interesting, that the material quantity changed. The purchase order includes five units of the original article and the substituted article has a quantity of eight. I guess the reason is a rounding value for procurement.
The ERP 2005 documentation on help.sap.com ([Assigning Follow-Up and Replacement Articles ERP 2005|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_02/helpdata/en/a2/7c936660dc4da09a3a1d08ee7eeca2/frameset.htm]) describes a conversation factor for the units of measure of the original article and substitution article for each assignment. In the ECC 6.0 documentation ([Assigning Follow-Up and Replacement Articles ECC 6.0|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/a2/7c936660dc4da09a3a1d08ee7eeca2/frameset.htm]) this is missing. In the system I also could not find any type of conversation factor for Follow-Up and Replacement Articles.
Is this option not available in ECC 6.0 or where can I find it?

  • Configurable article in sap retail?

    Hello Experts,
Can we have configurable articles in sap retail?
    Please tell me your opinions..
    Thanks

Take an example of computer where we have different model of computer lets say
    xyz 7000 black
    xyz 7000 blue
xyz 7000 white (three variants of xyz 7000 series laptop)
customer can build his laptop from the list of components by having picking different options of hardware such as processor, ram, cds hard drive etc.
Once customer selected the desired components and production order will get generated and the delivery happen to the customer..
the above scenario we want to do it thru article master..(mm41) not thru standard material master.
    thanks

    Dear Yogesh,
SAP has just recently released a note you might want to consider: 1834272. One of the preliminary notes for this note is 1784060...
This works for SAP 6.4. I can not help you where it is specifically related to SAP 4.7
    Hoping it is of use.

  • User exit; Article master SAP Retail for MVKE table?

Is there a user exit in SAP Retail for the MVKE table?
The articles is maintained in a third-party system and are transferred to SAP via Idoc. For sales sets, article category = 10, these requires a item category = ERLA in SAP (MVKE-MTPOS) so that the sales set "explodes" in the sales order.
The third-party system doesn't maintain sales org-spesific data for the articles, therefor we use one ref.article for all article groups. And because sales sets exits in many article groups, we found it difficult to have ref.articles for all of these article groups.
Also the article type is also "normal",so the only way to differentiate the sales sets, are via article category. But since SAP has no link between article category and item category in customizing (as far as I know), I wonder if there is a user-exit to set the item category based on the article category?

    Hello Sonika,
WE_PLU is generally used along with the POS interface.
Please check this for more details

Article Master Uploading in IS- Retail system
This is basically your call depending on what data the message type is intended to carry and the use. ARTMAS should be the choice in your case.

  • Handling of Hazardous Articles in SAP Retail

    Hi SAP Retail Experts
Would like to know the porcess in SAP to configure the hazardous goods management in Article master whereby we can accomodate the dangerous goods data from and external system into Article Master.

    Dear Pratim
I don't catch your question. Check e.g. SAP Environment, Health, and Safety Management (SAP EHS Management)
1.) the term "Dangerous Goods" and Hazard substance" is not the same
2.) In EHS classic you can get external data for DG use using ALE; same is true for hazardous substance master
I have no experience with SAP Retail. But according to SAP help: This is a SAP ECC/ERP system in a "special"  mode (you have activated an "industry specific" function). So you need to prepare EHS customizing
