How to install fresh copy of os x without DVD or CD

I want to install OS x on Macbook pro laptop, I have erase all data through dist utility and when i reinstall os x it will give me message like "You must sign in with an Apple ID that was used to purchase "OS X Maverick"

bigschwabbel wrote:
Is that the case, if the Mac came with an older version of OS X and has been updated (including the Recovery Partition) to Mavericks?
Yes, so it's often the case with a used Mac unless the previous owner prepared it for sale correctly.
If IR (Internet Recovery) is used instead no ID will be needed, but the version of OSX that will be installed is the one that the machine shipped with.

  • Remove windows Installation from Old WD hard drive and Install Fresh Copy on the New One.

Hi Community! I just bought a new WD Blue 1 TB hard drive, my old hard drive is WD Blue caviar 500 GB, running on Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit.
There are two things I wish to do: 1. Firstly, if it's possible, I would like to copy some videos, images, music etc. from my OLD Drive to the new one.
Please note that, I don't have an external disk to do it, I know that would've been less complicated, but that's not an option at this point. 2. Secondly, once that is done, if possible, I want to remove windows 7 installation from my old hard drive, re-partition it to make it just the storage drive, and finally install
fresh copy of windows 7- 64 bit to the new Hard drive.
Please note that, my old Hard drive is installed on windows 7- 32 bit and now I want to install a fresh copy of Windows 7-64bit instead of 32bit, because I am upgrading my
    configuration with better ones.
I am adding 4 GB corsair vengeance ram to my 2 GB corsair ram, so that is 6 GB in total.
I am adding 1 TB hard disk to my 500 GB Hard disk, so that is 1500 GB.
Both my processor and mother board supports 64 bit.
Intel® Pentium® Processor G2020 (3M Cache, 2.90 GHz) And this Mother board - "Biostar H61MGV3"I know that you could clone the partition and migrate the installation from one hard drive to another using the Acronis True Image WD Edition Software, but I don't want that.
In simple words, say I have a dos computer, I installed my 1TB WD hard drive, installed a fresh copy of windows 7-64bit. So my computer is up and running. Now, I have another hard
drive which I wish to use, that is 500GB WD, but it has Windows 7-32 bit installed in it.
So what I want to do is, make this old hard drive a complete 500 gb storage device and remove the windows installation from it, without loosing music, videos, etc. and then lastly
copying the music and other media to the new hard drive, and formatting it completely.
I am perhaps making this very complicated, I know you would have better easier solution for this.
I am frustrated, your help would be appreciated, thanks a lot. Sincerely, Abe

Since you don't want to clone the drive (I agree with you), you can just swap drives and install Windows on the new drive. Windows won't complain that you are installing on a different drive because it only cares if you change more than one piece of hardware at a time. The problem will arise when you copy the files from the old drive because you cannot just connect it via SATA. That would confuse Windows, as both installations were run on that hardware. You need to mount it in an external dock via USB 2.0/3.0 which will isolate the details of the OS. After you copy all necessary files, you can use WDC Lifeguard to write zeros to the entire disk and then create a new partition. After that you can mount it via SATA because it will be a new drive. Do NOT be in a hurry to wipe the drive however, as you don't want to forget something.

  • Can i install fresh copy of lion on Mac without any requirement.

I have a MacBook pro 15ich core i5. i want to install fresh lion on my system without any requirement means without snow leopard. i had downloaded a lion from app store . how do i install fresh lion on my system . thnx

    First, backup your system.
Reboot your system, press and hold the Command-R keys at the boot chime to enter the Recovery HD. From there you can use Disk Utilities to erase your Macintosh HD and then reinstall Lion. You will need an internet connection and I can't remember if you'll be prompted for your Apple ID and password prior to Lion downloading.

  • How to install clean copy

    Hello
I have upgread my Macbook pro with Lion and I would like remove the OS and install new copy.
How to get a copy of lion to install it at my Macbook pro without installing the old OS and upgraed?

Boot into the Lion Recovery partition and install from there. There is also Disk Utility to erase the drive.
Why do you  wish to waste a lot of time erasing the disk and reinstalling? Is there something wrong with the installation?

  • Internet Slow---Last Resort---Install fresh copy of Tiger---Any tips?

I have an open topic about my situation where my internet is very slow using safari and firefox. I've done most of the suggestions in that post and now am considering reloading a fresh copy of Tiger.
When logging into a new, second account, the system seems to be faster than when I log into my usual account, thus this decision.
I currently have 6mbps download with 640kbps upload speeds and did a test just now and got 5.12mbps and 630kbps. Eventhough this looks very good, the system is slow when using my account.
I used CCC to backup all my files and would appreciate any tips if I should do anything else prior to installing a clean copy.

Adding Open DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security:
If you are using a single computer: Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2296
If your computer is part of a network: please refer to this page: http://www.opendns.com/start/bestpractices/#yournetwork and follow the advice given.
You could also try these codes as well: 4.2.2.1 & 4.2.2.2

    Hi Beni,
chances are your BIOS is set to AHCI Mode. SATA harddrives aren't recognised until after the driver is installed, which is not part of the XP cd install. So you have to change it to "Compatability"
Start the BIOS Setup Utility menu.
    Select Config.
    Select Serial ATA (SATA).
    Select Compatibility.
Now you can install XP. Change the setting back only when you've installed the right drivers.
    Check out this guide,

    alternately try this,

  • How to install Lion OSX on new SSD without install disc

    TL;DR
I need a way to install Lion on a new SSD without an install disc, and how to format it without a Mac.
Hello, just yesterday I opened up my MBP 13" Mid-2010 running 10.7.(4/5) (Not sure which it is, but I think it is 10.7.5) and the first thing I saw was Skype tring to sign in. It looked fine, untill I took a second look and I heard a strange clicking noise coming from my computer. The Sykpe signin page said "Disc I/O error" or something like that. I instantly knew there was something wrong with my hard drive. Tried rebooting, grey screen, strange clicking noise like most people with hard drive failure. I was devistated. It has worked minutes ago, then my brother gets off, I open it up,and the hard drive has failed. After I got over the initial shock, I googled "hard drive replacement" after searching for a while, I noticed most sites just showed how to UPGRADE your hard drive, cloning it and all. Well, heres my main problem. I had no time to clone. Luckily, I had started backup up a month ago, and all my data is safe on my external hard drive, but this is only a time machine backup. No OS. Now, most people can just put in their install disk and voila! But, I, sadly, do not have my install disk. No idea where it went, I just don't have it. So, I was wondering if there was any possible way to make a bootable USB or disk without having acsess to a Mac, or having to buy a disc. I bought Lion, and I'm hoping that there is a way to download this and put it on a USB, then boot my computer from it. Now, my second problem is formatting. I have no idea how to format my SSD, let alone without a Mac. If there is some way to format an SSD so that it will work with a MacBook Pro, that would be great.on a PC
IMPORTANT: No, I don't have ANY install discs, the only one I had, for Snow Leopard, is gone. And no, I don't have access to ANY Macs to format the SSD. Finally, I would really love to be able to do this all cost-free, as I have already purchased the Lion, and dont feel like buying a disc for it again.

    Yes. See below:
    Drive Erase for Lion/Mountain Lion
    1.  Wait until the Main Menu appears. This could take quite some time because you are doing all of this over an Internet connection. You should use Ethernet if possible. It's much faster than wireless. Select Disk Utility from the Main Menu and click on the Continue button.
    2. After DU loads select the SSD main entry (mfgr.'s ID and size.) Click on the Partition tab in DU's main window. Select One partition from the dropdown menu under Partition Scheme.
    3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
After the above has completed quit DU and return to the Main Menu. Click on the Install/Reinstall OS X option then click on the Continue button.
You should be all set if there are no glitches.

  • I have Macbook Pro 13" mid 20012. How to install Windows 8 onto the mac using DVD? 10.8.3

    the title says it all.
i have windows 8 DVD and i would like to have a clear instructions on how to install windows 8. I dont understand the need for USB

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You need a USB drive to install the Windows support software. It contains all the drivers that your MacBook Pro needs, and you will have to install them after finishing the Windows installation. If you don't install them, a lot of things won't work: the wireless card, the sound card, the brightness, the trackpad gestures... Apart from that, you don't need it for anything else.
Apple has released the official steps to install Windows 8 on a Mac, so if you want, print this PDF > http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_10.8.pdf

  • How to install the Report Queue Manager alone without the Developer suite

is it possible to install the Report Queue Manager alone without the Developer suite...
i want to install it in the clients machine... please if you have any idea...
    thanks for the help...

I use a product called No Machine. http://www.nomachine.com/download.php which is a client which allows you to connect via a graphical interface remotely. Lots of people also use VNC, if you do this you may need to install the VNC server option on the HPUX box, then connect via the VNC client. You should really talk to your unix administrator how they want to do it.
If you have access to the HP machine do you know if it is started in graphical mode? If so you should be fine. It will require this mode.
Also as the root user us will need to execute the command
xhost +this allows user to remote connect to the UNIX box in graphical mode.
When this starts up you can start a terminal session.
you will need to set the display for the user that will start the install.
    DISPLAY=:0.0make sure that the command
    echo $DISPLAYreturns
    *:0.0*everything should go from there.
Failing this you can do the silent install, refer to the installation guide for the options there.
    cheers

  • Qosmio G20 - How to install with one single HDD and without RAID?

I want to set up Qosimo G20 new with Windows XP 32.
I bought a new harddisk and put it into slot 1. I would like to run it without any RAID (so slot 2 is empty)
XP installation CD did not discover the HD
I entered BIOS to see if the HD was there - The HD is recognized normal
then I thought I have to change RAID to JBOD (page 3 BIOS) but this did not work
I confirmed it with the 1234 key - but nothing hapened.
In another task they said to install RAID-drivers (pressing F6... while starting XP installation)
I put the drivers on a USB-stick - but the system will not discover it (and there is no floppy drive)
I have no idea how to install XP on this Laptop.
    Any hints?
    Chris

    >I put the drivers on a USB-stick - but the system will not discover it (and there is no floppy drive)
Win XP does not recognize USB flash memory while setup. This is possible since Vista OS so either you will need a USB floppy drive or you will built a new Win XP CD and will add the RAID driver using the nLite software.
Here is a nice FAQ how to add the RAID (or SATA driver) to using nLite.
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB85017Z0000R01.htm
Note: this describes how to add the SATA drivers you have to add the RAID drivers so dont use SATA driver but RAID driver
    Good luck

    Thanks a lot..

    Definitely yes.
I know that you know that there are two kind of installs for Leo: upgrade and erase and install. In principle, there would be little difference between the two. Many here say that upgrading, versus erasing and installing, is the superior procedure provided that one's prior installation is in very good condition. Others feel differently. I say just do what you prefer. My bet is that percentage-wise those getting good installs from an erase and install, particularly if all apps are reinstalled, rather than migrated, is higher than for upgrade--but probably not appreciably higher.
The processes leading to the final outcome should lead to a good outcome in either case. But, things can go wrong either way. I am not going to try to elaborate much on the specific ways that things could go wrong either way. But, for the most part, they would have to do with the way migration works and the migration technique used (if used), in the case of erase and install, and the existence of problems in the system existing prior to installation in the case of an upgrade.
    To erase and install,
    1. Start up from your Sno DVD, and start the installer.
    2. Choose your language
    3. Use the menus at the top of the next screen to start Disk Utility.
    6. Erase your drive Mac extended (journaled).
    7. Quit Disk Utility and continue your installation.
    To do an upgrade install,
    1. Start the installer from your Sno DVD either from your desktop or by starting up to the DVD.
    2. Choose your language.
    3. Continue your install.
Whichever kind of install you choose, you should be well backed up.
