How To Install plugins in Eclipse?

I just can't seem how to figure it out. I tried throwing the plugin file into the plugin folder but nothing happens. I looked at all the options in eclipse and yet I can't find anything.
So I need some help.

I have noticed that some plugins come with directories and with jar files.
If i just just put those dirs and jar files in the eclipse/plugin they are autatically installed, right?
Or do i need to select each jar file to use in my application like jessieh said?
Build_path ----> add jars ----> etc.

I made a download the KXML plugin (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/kxml/kxml2-min-2.2.2.jar?download), but I can't to install and use this plugin for to read XML files. For example: I need to import org.kxml2.io.KXmlParser. I put the downloaded file in the folder plugins of eclipse and I use the eclipse for develop with J2ME.
I read one article that it teaches to read XML files using the KXML API, see below:

you need to place your plugins in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Plug-Ins
You can make folders inside the Plug-Ins folder to maintain the hierarchy of plug-ins

I don't know why your setting not work. The following is my setting which successfully download the plug-in from intranet web site.
Classid is used for JRE version. The clsid:CAFEEFAC-0014-0001-0001-ABCDEFFEDCBA means JRE 1.4.1_01. and the clsid:CAFEEFAC-0013-0001-0004-ABCDEFFEDCBA means JRE 1.3.1_04.

there are two ways of doing it
- get the adobe flash builder (http://www.adobe.com/de/products/flash-builder.html) and the extension builder (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/cs-extension-builder.html) and start coding in flex (mxml & as)
- get the indesign/incopy sdk (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/indesign/sdk.html) and start coding in objective-c / c++

I'm using Acrobat on a linux system, but I'm not the administrator. I need to install a new plugin (FileOpen.api from www.nr.com) to open their pdf-files. They explain very nice how to place that plugin in the plug_ins directory, but that's a systems directory and you need to be root to do that, which is not an option in my case. However: it is very common practice on linux systems that these type of things can also be installed under some users-dir, for example ~/.acrobat/plug_ins This example definitely does NOT work, but which directory will work?

You can place your plugins in a folder named 'plug_ins' under your home directory:
$HOME/plug_ins
They will be picked up by the Adobe Reader if they are Reader-enabled.
