How to know which type of jdbc driver used in my application

How to know which type of jdbc driver used in my application.

My approach will be....
Type1: you have to have ODBC s/w install on your machine...even the connection string starts with jdbc:odbc....so it can be identifed easily
Type2: you have to install client s/w in your machine...if you are using oracle oci driver ...you need to install oracle client s/w
Type3: you use servername / port to connnect to middleware
Type4: you do not need any client s/w
So, If your application works without any client s/w on your machine....you might be using Type4/Type3 driver.....otherwise Type2
Someone pls add more ....

  • How to know which folder my apex is using

    Hello dearest friends,
    I have upgraded my apex 2.1 to apex 3.2 like a month ago. But I do not have time to study it yet.
    Today, I checked it again so I can practice creating programs.
    I noticed I got 2 folders with identical contents , they are c:/apex and c:/apex32
    c:/apex has also version 3.2 contents. I want to delete the unused one. How do I know which one is being used
    by my apex server? I already forgot which one did I used in upgrading my apex.
    Thanks a lot

    Hello
    Verify that your APEX installation is functioning correctly and that the path for the 'images' folder does not include either of 'C:\apex' or 'C:\apex32'. You may then safely delete both folders. You could also look for a file named something similar to 'install<yyyy-dd-mm..> in each of the folders. This file is the log created by the installation programme. You can use the timestamp on this file to determine which directory the most recent installation occurred from.

  • How to know which clips have not been used

    Hi,
    I am a noob at this, but getting the hand of it. Here is my question: I started with about 20 video files(2h of footage). From all those files, I created about 60 "subclips" that have neatly been organized in a bin. Then I lined all 60 clips one by one. However, I accidently deleted one of those clips in the middle (and can't undo because it was a while ago) and I don't know which clip is was.
    What I would to do is select the bin with the 60 subclips, and identify which one (maybe more than one actually) have NOT been inserted in my sequence. Is there a way to do so? Similar to Excel when you select a formula and it tells you which cells was dependants, could I select my sequence and it tells me which clips are "dependant"? Any other suggestions?
    Thanks

    Thank you very much, this is EXACTLY what I wanted. For those reading this and that can't find the video usage column, you need to go to "metadata display" in the project menu/button (top right corner of the window) and select "Metadata display" and then add the "video usage" column.
    Thanks again.

  • How to know which Smart-Form is being used for Purchase Order print output

    Hi Gurus ,
    How to find which Smart-Form and and methods/program being used for Purchase Order print output in SRM  ?
    In ECC we have tcode NACE where we can check all the details.Is there something similar in SRM ?
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Saurav

    There is no similar transaction in SRM for your purpose. Usually if the customers customize the smartforms, they would choose to use their own form by implementing BADI BBP_OUTPUT_CHANGE_SF. Take a look into your system and see if this BADI is implemented. If so, debug it (by pressing "Print Preview" for a PO for example) and find out what form it is using. Or, if the BADI is not implemented, by default, the system uses form BBP_PO.

  • How to know which service accounts I am using inside my SharePoint server

    We were asked to send a list of all the services accounts that are being used inside our SharePoint server, as the system administrators need to apply a new password policy. So to check which accounts I am currently using, I went to these locations:-
    From the “IIS Manager” >> Application pool. I checked the identity column for all the domain users.
    From >SharePoint CA >> Security >> Configure managed accounts.
    So my question is basically if there could be any service accounts inside my SharePoint server, that are not in the above two locations ?
    Thanks

    Yes. SharePoint will add all service accounts it uses to the Managed Account list.
    This will include accounts like the SharePoint Crawl Account which will not be used to run an Application Pool itself but will need to be part of your password change policy.
    this means that in our case we have two accounts inside the "CA>>Security>>Managed Accounts" , and these are the ones used all over the sharepoint server ? is this correct ?

  • How to know which version of SQLite is used by the different AIR-Versions?

    For AIR 1.0 and 2.0 this post: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2577582#2577582 has the infos, but it is not clear where they come from.
    How could one find out about the SQLite-versions in 2.5 and 2.6?
    (not even google or any doc that I read about AIR and SQLite mention this)
    thx in adance for any hint or answer,
    karfau

    Thanks for this info.
    Maybe the current version of things like webkit and sqlite could be attached to some readme-like-file in the releases in the future.
    Since u answered I would like to use the chance to ask another question:
    When reading the SQLite-Docs there are some features, that state:
    "available when compiled with the compiler option SQLITE_XYZ"
    It would be intresting to know with which compiler options (a list is here: http://www.sqlite.org/compile.html )
    the AIR-version has been compiled.(Especially those, that can not be guessed by reading the docs )
    Is there any way to find out?

    Hi,
    Check out this...
    Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"); //if u r using MySql
    List drivers = Collections.list(DriverManager.getDrivers());
                   for(int i=0;i<drivers.size();i++)
                        Driver driver = (Driver)drivers.get(i);
                        String driverName = driver.getClass().getName();
                        System.out.println("Driver "+i+":::"+driverName);
    you need to load the driver and display in the same program.
    Then only you'l get the required result.

    Hi,
    <i>How to know which master data objects need to activated from delivery version to active version in R/3 for a particular standard cube like 0SD_C03.</i>
    I think, you are looking for master data sources(text,attributes,hier).Am i right?
    If so, This cube has almost all SD master data characterstics. So you can activate all the all master data datasources of SD in r/3 (SD-IO).
    Any way you requirement does not stop only by using this cube . You will activate all other cubes in SD also. So if you want to activate only needed master data datasources when you are activating a cube, the job becomes senseless. There is no problem(wrong) in activating all master data available under that application , even though you want to activate only one cube.

  • When I get a date field value using the Oracle thin (type 4) JDBC driver...

    ....in 'DD-MMM-YY' format from an Oracle 8i database and pass it in to the java.util.Date() constructor, I get a IllegalArgumentException. This error doesn't occur when I use the type 2 driver, so it is apparently a driver-specific thing. It happens on both Win32 and Linux.
    Has anyone seen this before? Is there a newer version of the Oracle thin (i.e., type 4) driver than is listed here?

    Yup, that original post didn't make much sense, did it? Let's try again.
    I've got an EJB app that runs on WebLogic 6.0 (on Solaris in production, on Win2K for development) and accesses an Oracle 8i database. This app currently uses the Oracle type 2 JDBC drivers. All is well.
    So I wanted to see how it would run on Linux. I've got a Redhat 7.1 box handy, so I installed the JDK and WL6.0 and slapped the ear file on there. Problem! Can't deploy because there are no Oracle drivers on this machine!
    Makes sense. So I started looking around, and it seems installing Oracle on a RH 7.1 box involves patching glibc and other such nastiness. So let's just try the type 4 JDBC driver - no glibc patch, no shared object libraries, just good 'ol pure Java talking to Oracle on port 1521.
    Once I had the URLs and whatnot set up, the app connected to the DB just fine, created the connection pool, read some data, etc. But when my app read a date from the DB and instantiates a new java.util.Date object, I got an IllegalArgumentException - i.e., the date can't be parsed.
    "Hmm... that's odd", I thought, so back I went to my trusty Win2K machine, modified my configuration files to use the type 4 driver and - same error! So I switched back to the type 2 driver - and everything works fine, Dates and all. Hmmm.....
    As you correctly state, that Date constructor is deprecated and I should use DateFormats and GregorianCalendars and whatnot instead.
    But has anyone seen this weird behavior before - code that works fine on a type 2 driver starts throwing exceptions when used with a type 4 driver? Anyone have any solutions?
    Thanks much,
    Tom

  • WLS 8.1 Type 4 JDBC Driver SQL Server sp_prepare/sp_execute

    Hello,
    I have a question regarding performance troubleshooting in a production situation using the WLS 8.1 Type 4 JDBC Driver for SQL Server and SQL Server 2000.
    This driver compiles a sql statement on the sql server using sp_prepare(), saving a handle to it. It will execute the statement using sp_execute(). Subsequent uses of the same statement will skip the sp_prepare(), and just call sp_execute(). So, ideally, for a particular statement, you should see one sp_prepare, and a lot of sp_execute's.
    My WLS app is running along in production, and I detect a performance problem of some sort on the sql server, such as excessive IO, or blocking.
    I turn on the sql server profiler, and I can see a bunch of
    sp_execute 123, 'one', 'two'
    sp_execute 123, 'foo', 'bar'
    with bad IO. How do I determine what the original SQL was that was used in the sp_prepare?
    The only way I can see to do this is to have the sql server profiler always running to catch every sp_prepare. I can't believe that this is a best practice.
    How are you all handling this type of situation?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi Joe,
    Thanks for the suggestions. The main issue I have with both is that they
    require a server restart to enable. Can't do that on my production system.
    The best I've come up with since I posted is to locate the poor
    performer/blocker real-time via sysprocesses, then use the sqlhandle column
    to call fn_get_sql to get at least some of the sql submitted with sp_prepare().
    Not pretty and difficult to do on a busy system.
    What's bugging me about the sp_prepare/sp_execute technique used by the driver is:
    1) sp_prepare/sp_execute don't seem to be documented anywhereThey are internal to SQLServer, so it'd be MS to document them or not.
    2) It is at best inconvenient to have to troubleshoot performance issues (requiring
    a server config change, server restart, and manual reconcile of two different,
    possibly very large, logs based on timestamp).
    Your idea to disable the stored procedure cache is interesting, but still requires
    a server restart to enable, and another to disable.
    To me this is a large step backwards in manageability of my system. What I don't
    understand is that I don't see much discussion about this topic on any forums,
    so I wonder if I'm just missing something here (maybe everyone's using Oracle).No, the same sorts of issues would be needed with Oracle. DBMSes must make tradeoffs
    between normal-case runtime performance, and the instrumentation that would be needed
    to simultaneously monitor performance problems.

    The JDBC drivers aren't "installed" like application software. The ojdbc.jar file is a library that contains the driver. To use it in a Java program, two steps are required:
    (1) Invoke the driver (using the Class.forName() method is most common), and
    (2) include the library in the class path when you run your program.
    Here is a sample program I have put together to illustrate:
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.ResultSet;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    import java.sql.Statement;
    public class JDBCTest {
         public static void main(String args[]) throws SQLException, ClassNotFoundException {
              Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver");
              String dbString = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:xe";
              String username = "forums";
              String password = "forums";
              Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection(dbString, username, password);
              Statement statement = connection.createStatement();
              ResultSet rs = statement.executeQuery("select 'hi' as my_column from dual");
              while(rs.next())
                   System.out.println(rs.getString("MY_COLUMN"));
              rs.close();
              statement.close();
              connection.close();
    }Below, I compile and run this program. You can see the necessity of including the JAR in the class path:
