I want to make a text link to another website that is not my
site by appearing in another window or tab.

Fortunately - Firefox users have a new Tab appear rather than

window - which in my view is much better.

Hello! In RoboHelp 7 I am doing a prototype for my work group using framesets. We want a navigation pane on the left side of every topic. I have learned how to create framesets and set the left and right frames to different topics. I cannot find information anywhere on how to do one thing. One, how do I set the links in the left navigation frame to open in the right (main) frame? Sounds like a simple thing, but I can't figure out how. Also, is it true that a person cannot see the code to the frameset? I can't find a way to do that, either. Thanks for anyone's help!

Hi there
When you created your Frameset you likely gave each frame a name. This part is very important and I'm not sure RoboHelp would even allow you to create the Frameset without naming each frame.
So when you create your links, you target the Frame by clicking the drop-down and choosing the frame name.

How to make a button appear boxed in when clicked

For my Prototyping class I have to make an interactive fast food ordering system. I have majority of frames made I just need to add the interactive part to it. I am using AS2 in Flash CS3. I have the picture and the text grouped and are classified as a button. I want to make it so that when the picture or text is clicked it will make a black box appear around it, making it 'selected'. I've tried to add an Event Listener but couldn't figure out how to make the box appear on it. Any suggestions?
These pictures are basically what I'm trying to accomplish.
Keep in mind, I'm a Flash newbie, I have a probably 3 hours experience with Flash.
But I do have knowledge of basic Java commands, so I can understand code.

Onw way would be to create the buttons as movieclips so that when they are selected you move the movieclip's timeline to a rame that shows the rectangle around it. Another way would be to have the movieclips as separate objects that you make appears when its associated button is clicked. There are likelynumerous other possibilities.

You can hide and show portlets of Web providers (OmniPortlet, Web Clipping, and Java portlets) on portal pages dynamically. This functionality is controlled by security managers. The PDK provides a number of security managers. For example:
o Group security manager: The group security manager makes the portlet appear to users who are members of a specified group, while hides the portlet for those who are not members.
o Authentication level security manager: You can use the authentication level security manager to control access to the portlets based on the users authentication level. For example you may hide the portlet from public users, but display it to authenticated users.
In addition to the security managers provided by the PDK, you can build your own security managers.
Although OmniPortlet and Web Clipping do not expose security managers through the user interface, you can apply them by editing their XML provider definition file.
For PL/SQL portlets you can use the is_runnable method to control whether the portlet is hidden or shown.

I am new to website design and am trying to figure out how to make downloadable links for some PDF flyers, PSD templates I am creating. Not sure if "downloadable links" is the correct term for what I'm trying to say but in a nutshell I am creating Business Flyer's in PDF form and Photoshop PSD template files that I would like to be able to have my users click a link that allows them to download them right to their desktop. Any help would really be appreciated!

Link to an external URL image? In AS 2 the code is
'getURL("putaddresshere")' and in AS 3 it's 'navigateToURL("")' ...
If it's a simple image, it's easier just to import it to the
stage, save it as a symbol, put it in a timeline frame and then
code your link so on click or rollover it goes
'gotoAndPlay(framenumber)'.

In the examples included with the weekly builds there is a CustomLinkEventHandler.as example. Passing parameters would be done in the CustomClickHandler function. You could attach the parameters to the LinkElement as user styles using the setStyle API.

It looks like you have taken a behavior from the Library Palette and hard coded it to suit your needs. This was unnecessary. Instead try the following behaviors attached to buttons that take you between movies - assuming they are in the same directory:

gotoNetMovie("@/part1.dcr#test1")

on mouseUp me
gotoNetMovie("@/test.dcr#Intro")
end
Also, you should Shockwave-compress your files to DCR (see the Publish Settings) in order to make your movies as small as possible so they download quickly

In fact this information is usefull for me. I was looking for a customer installation but he did not remember which version was installed. They are facing some problems. So I don't know if I have to update B1iSN or not to solve it.
B1iSN returns only the technical version number, but I would like to know which version was downloaded from the Market Place.

I should also point out that when I connect my iPhone, it DOESN'T appear as a connected drive on the desktop. Not sure how this can be so, since the iPhone also has a drive and also functions as an iPod if I want it to. I must have changed some setting to achieve this non-appearance, but don't remember what I must have done.
