How to make a secure QT link?

I wish to post QT movies on my website but do not want them to be DLable via QT Pro or via Safari/whatever browser Activity monitor or a 3rd party DLer.
How do I achieve this?

I guess you don't want your video to be able to be downloaded. You can use html code...but that can be hatched or bypassed in a few seconds.
The only way to try to safeguard your on the internet is to put your videos on a streaming server. ( http://www.apple.com/quicktime/player/tutorials.html ) Even on a streaming server one can use a screen capture (video) program like Snapz PRO X to capture your video.
There really isn't a sure fire way for safeguarding your videos on the internet. You can only make it harder to download your video.

That is, to
../images/image.jpg or
../../images/image.jpg or
../../../images/image.jpg etc…depending on where the directory is.
The old format (/images/image.jpg ) used to work fine in my previous DW 8 configuration but appear grey in DW after “upgrading” to DW cs5.5 mac. (they look fine on the server, but it’s hard to edit image-heavy pages locally when they are all grey).
I tried changing the files to how DW creates root relative links now:
/public_html/images/image.jpg, which is a very easy, attractive root flow since there’s a one-to-one mapping. These look great in DW but are broken on the server!
I looked at the “advanced” site setup, and it looked like it might be possible to nuke the /public_html/ part of my server info…but it also looked like there was the potential for doing damage changing these settings, which are automatically generated from our server connection settings, which seem to work.
The “links relative to document/ site root” toggle…does that change how DW interprets existing links, or just change the default when you are adding a link? I have made 80% of the file links document relative…before wondering if root-relative isn’t better?
It sure seems less ambiguous for all those images if theres a way to make root relative work for DW design view, DW link check, and server.

Thanks for jumping on this.
All clear and understood about where publc_html is etc.
No contemplation of nuking the actual public_html directory on the server, just the "/public_html" text string at the start of the DW-generated links.
"/public_html" is automatically added to the front of the link in DW if I create the link with any of the GUI tools, if I have "site root relative" selected. And ""/public_html" ends up in the code, and gets uploaded that way to the server, where it (obviously) doesn't work.
Doesn't sound like it is supposed to work this way. Also, what seems to be the usual root relative format (/images/image.jpg) shows as a broken link in the GUI and an external link in the DW link check. All this togther makes me thinkI have some obscure setting incorrect?
The setting that caught my eye is manage sites/ site setup/ advance settings/ local info/ web url, which is automatically set to http://www.oasisdesign.net/public_html/
it gives an option to change it but it makes every effort to make this NOT look like something users should mess with:
Having gone through the more careful thought process during this post, I'm ready to do the experiment of changing the remote server web URL (why is it wrong by default?)...think I'll eat dinner first so there's 45 min to avert disaster if anyone knows this to be a bad idea!

Hello. I am developing the accounting application of journal entry. In journal line, I use the image "magnifying glass" next to each chart field. When we click on the magnifying glass, it's supposed to come up a look up table( a chart and name mapping table), and we select the proper chart to input into the chart field.
I understand to create another record and page for the look up table. But I don't understand how to make a magnifying glass link to a look up table. Can anybody tell me how to do that ? Thanks.

This is how it works,
Table A (which stores chart fields). You have used fields from table A on a page so that users can input data.
You don't need to put a magnifying glass image or create a new page to achieve look up page.
all you need to do is create another table say Table B which should have the chart field and corresponding description you want to show on lookup page. Then open record-field property of the chart field on Table A and mention Table B as prompt table.

once you deployed an application, users and roles are no longer in the domain of ADF Security. So the administration is
WLS console - if users and groups are in the WLS LDAP
Identity Management - if users and roles are in OID, RDBMA, Active Directory etc.
Enterprise Managers - to manage application roles and granting permissions or application roles to enterprise groups

How to make graphics in pdf link to real size gifs/png

This must be an old question, but when we were going to online help form Frame documents, we chose RoboHelp because we had a perl script
that would swap back the old (96ppi) screen captures in the html, and so the user would see the large GUIs clearly.
We are looking to go to an html front end that points to within the pdf documents, but the screenshots are still unclear, is there a way to have
a tooltip over each image in the pdf to click to enlarge and then the user would double-click and the original gif/png would appear? The original GUI images would be in a directory with the online help.

That makes sense. So I guess it looks like I have 2 options.
1. Put the JS short code in and have it open the link in a new window if the user opens it in adobe. If a google chrome user opens it in the default viewer, they wont be able to use the link at all.
2. Leave the link how it is, and it will be usable in both viewers, but will not open it in a new window.
I am sureprised that opening the link in a new window isn't just an option in Acrobat Pro. I wouldn't think you'd have to make a workaround like this.
Is there an alternative way to have a page link on the form so that people can go to another .pdf whil keeping the main one open?

I am making a website, in which user has to logs in by entering his userid and password. after login, he can make a transaction of money from his account. u can think of it as an online banking site. so this must be secure login i.e password should not be stolen by any third party or proxies, so it must be encrypted; same account should not be accessed by two pc's at the same time etc. i have implemented it by using sessions only.

Use HTTPS. Start the HTTPS session when they first access the login page and continue using HTTPS until they log out. This way the password will be encoded. Check the documentation for you application server as to how to set up HTTPS for you system.

I have successfully completed the "ebooks: from adobe indesign to the kindle store.pdf"
I have InDesign CS 5, not 5.5.
I did the indesign doc - export to epub, then converted that epub in Calibre to MOBI format for kindle.
But how do I make a table of contents that link or jump to the beginning of its respective chapter head?

Yes, that fixed it, thanks! I had no idea they clashed like that. I ruthlessly purged all other tables of contents, and then used Layout > Table of Contents to create a new one, and it worked.
It made more sense after seeing in this thread that table of contents styles are more like presets or entities than styles.

In iRecruitment module,i have created a new responsibility with the name "irecruitment - interview" the menu attached with the responsibility is "Irc Employee Menu" and the functions and menu excluded are "Irc Employee Applicant Home Page","Irc Employee Home Page","IRC Employee Candidate Application Menu","Irc Employee Referral Application","Irc Interviewer Application".
When i click on the responsibility the applicant names come,and on the applicant name link is there,on clicking onto the applicant name the other information of the vacancy also becomes visible,i want that the applicant name should be visible but the link link which is coming onto it should get disabled.
In order to achieve this i have gone to personalisation and under the "Applicant Name" i set the "Popup Enabled" to "false" at the responsibility level.But it is not working out.
Please tell me how can i achieve this.

I found the solution by myself ....
Problem: hr_maintain_masterdata crashes with shortdump while writing an hiring action.
Cause: we implemented infotype enhancements via userexit where parameter VIEKN is queried. The parameter VIEKN is saved in infotype 3. In LUW-mode 3 theres no existent IT0003 when hiring a person (because nothing is written to database) that causes the shortdump ...
solution (workaround): First I have to call maintain_masterdate just with infotype 0000 (without reference pernr!) ... that triggers the creation of it0003 by the system itself ... then I have to call a second maintain_masterdata with all the other infotypes of the action and everything works fine! Now the new person is in the system and while creating the person, the system also created a new central person and a link between the new CP and the new person.
after doing this (and did'nt get any failure!) I have to determine the central person (CP) of the referenced person, making a new link between the new person and the referenced persons CP, deleting the link between the new person an d the new CP, deleting the new cp and every thing works fine!!!! the reason for this is: infotype 31 just shows the "links" that are defined in OM

How to make Robo list style link to Word style?

I am using RoboHelp 8. When creating printed documentation, I have found that my RoboHelp list styles do not appear in the Print Document Appearance dialog when I am trying to link Robo styles to styles in my Word template, so I am not able to link them to styles in Word. All list styles come across in Word as Normal, although oddly their bullets and numbers appear correctly.
Is there any way to link Robo's list styles to Word's list styles?

How to make a numbered heading "link" to the next heading so it updates

Heading 1 is in the header. It is numbered A,B,C.
Heading 2 is in body It is numbered 1.
Heading 3 " 1.1. etc.
they are not linking so that Heading 3 turns into 1.1. it stays 1.

For a numbering scheme that goes

you have three levels. The first and second levels increment +1 each
time they occur. The third level is the number to the right of the
period, and it also increments +1 each time. The number that shows up to
the left of the period is a number placeholder for the second level (the
button to the right of the Number: field in Numbering Style). It will
not increment, but picks up the whatever number was last displayed at
the second level. So assuming you've got 3 levels in this list scheme,
your Number: for the 3rd level (the 1.1 level) would look something like
this:
^2.^#^t
The ^2 is the number placeholder, displaying whatever number showed up
in the last level 2 instance. The ^# is the current third level number.
And the ^t is a tab.

How to make an image a link?

I'm sort of new to HTML, but this problem is beyond frustrating. I am using the design display in Dreamweaver, and it still isn't working, and I"m not even coding the HTML. Here is the problem. I have an image on the main page, and I want that image to be a link. However, when I do that, and I preview in a browser, it just duplicates the image. So there are TWO images, even though there is code for only one. And the top one isn't a link, and the bottom one is. Here is the code:

I'm guessing you have a CSS rule applying an image to a #div background. Thus you are seeing double images but only one is showing in the HTML markup.
