I am using FCP HD and I would like to know how do you make a still photo from video footage?
Also I have to burn an editing project to dvd. I don't know how to use studio pro, but the person said that it needs to be a ntsc full resolution version. I am not sure what that means.
The project is about 10 minutes long and this person had me using the H.264. I have been playing around and I think I not doing something write because when I send the project to compressor it tells me that I have like 200+ hours befoe it outputs.
Could someone give me some simple instructions using the H.264 on how to do a good large size (over 320x240) QT movie to dvd?

To export a still park the playhead on the image you want, mark IN OUT, go to FILE>EXPORT>QUICKTIME CONVERSION. Click on QUICKTIME MOVIE and In the dropdown choose STILL IMAGE.
You will have to De-Interlace it in Photoshop after you export.

To export your DV project so there is no loss in quality, simply go to the File Menu and select EXPORT>QUICKTIME MOVIE. Not Quicktime Conversion, fot this will compress the footage. Make sure the settings match your timeline settings, make it self contained and you are set.
Import this into iDVD or DVDSP and burn your DVD. Don't go the h.264 route.

how to make stills from a frame in the timeline or browser in FCPX?
I want to place it elswhere in the timeline but also in iPhoto for exporting on the web or printing etc.

How do I clip stills from a movie

I have iMovie 9.04

Unlike all earlier versions, iMovie '11 (9.0.4) does not have a feature to extract stills for use outside the program. It does of course allow you to do freeze frames for use within a project, and to add still frames from an Event. From your question, my understanding is that you wish to create a still that can be used for printing or for importing to iPhoto or other imaging program, or for other purposes.
A simple and very effective workaround is to use a free downloadable app named MPEG Streamclip, available from the developer, Squared 5, here:

In iMovie, control-click (or right-click) on the clip in the Event or Project, then select Reveal in Finder from the pop-up menu. This will take you to the source clip. Drag this clip onto Streamclip's window (this action won't move it from it's original location). Now in Streamclip, using the playhead slider and left/right arrow keys, navigate to the exact frame you wish to use, then go to the menu and select File>Export Frame - you will be given a choice of JPEG, TIFF or PNG. Adjust the Quality slider and other settings as desired, then click on Save. Type in a name and select a save location (for example, Desktop) and you're done!

The entire DVD containing Quick Time movies (Final CutExpress project) and slideshow was done in iPhoto. The Final Cut project was rendered prior to export to QT, the slideshow was sent to iDVD withoutrendering. The slideshow with most of the pictures from my still camera incombination with stills from movie clips and some downloaded from the Internet.After burning, the movie playback is perfect but the slideshow is not. The slideshow containing 3 differentkinds of pictures; those from my still camera looks OK; the stills from themovie clips and from the Internet are not. I don’t have much knowledge in this game, but I think NTSCwith frame size 720x480, and the downloaded picture Item Property shows most ofthem are between 400 to 500 x 300 to 600, may be both of them are not suitablefor TV screen while the stills from my still camera looks OK because they are2048x1536. As you have found in the View Menu of iChat is the option to Display the Recipients Bar
This bar when clicked will display the Screen Names that you know for your Buddy and your own Screen Names.
The Buddy's names are in the "To:-" section whilst your own are in the "From:-"

The Chat window has to Be Open.
The Buddy's current name becomes a Drop Down that show the To and From names.
It appears to allow you to Connect Google or Jabber IDs to AIM Buddies but the tick will move to any valid Account if you change either the To choice or the From choice.
AS you say about the add Buddy drop down that appears - when your Buddy list are displayed as one an extra drop down appears fro you to Select the account/list it is joining as a Buddy

Thank you! I put some self help hypnosis tracks to listen to on my iPod. I did not want to go to the next track automatically, I wanted to listen to them individually, one at a time. (If I fell asleep, I did not want to 'wake up' in the middle of a different track.) Your information helps me understand that I need to re-load this playlist onto my iPod from my Mac computer, only first, I need to UNCHECK the boxes in front of each track so the iPod will STOP each time after playing the selected track. It is too bad that so many functions are not availabvle within the iPod, but that is probably why they can make it so compact.

Stills from QuickTime movie

I have been attempting to collect stills from QT movies and find they all have horizontal lines impairing the images. Is there any way to avoid this ?

Oh, you mean the interlacing. You can usually find an interlace free frame every few frames or so. Of course this doesn't help for fast moving content because the image you want won't be available in a few frames (it'll have moved).
I'm not at my computer right now, but there should be a deinterlace option to deinterlace. Your picture will be a bit more blurry, but that's the only thing that can be done about interlacing.

Ah, but wouldn’t it be ever so much easier to explain if you actually provided (a lores of) the image in question?
And how do I make the background transparent?
Preferably with a Layer Mask and then saving in the appropriate file format (psd or png24 for example support transparency).

OK, well sorry to disagree with you but:-
1. Using windows 7, the download does not provide a save but only a run option.
2. In the MS predownload instructions you copied it refers to the readme text next to "the ISO image"
3. This is a copy of the read me file attached:-
"This ReadMe document is one of the Windows Home Server Home Computer Restore CD files. Unless you changed the installation location during setup, the Home Computer Restore CD files and license terms are located in one of the following folders:
* On Windows Vista: %HOMEPATH%\Documents\Windows Home Server Home Computer Restore CD (Dual Boot)
* On Windows XP: %HOMEPATH%\My Documents\Windows Home Server Home Computer Restore CD (Dual Boot)
To use the Home Computer Restore CD software, you must write the ISO image file (restorecd_dual.iso) to a blank CD. A CD/DVD burner is required to write
the ISO image file to the CD. Usually a CD/DVD burner includes the software that you need to write ISO image files. Follow the instructions with your burner software, and then select the option to write an ISO image, not the option to write
individual files. Note that you cannot write the ISO image by using Windows Explorer to copy the file to the CD-ROM drive.

As you will see it refers to the downloaded .iso file. Nowhere is there a reference to a msi. As there was only a run function on the downloaded file, it could not be saved. How is an ordinary Windows user meant to interpret the instructs
if the download function does not work? What you do is try and follow the instructions and produce a load of frigging coffee mats, as it seems did many of the posters on this thread. Are we all illiterate?
If Microsoft could think in the way of a user it would help a lot of people.

I am designing work-flow of my application through BPEL(JDeveloper), I am making different BPEL projects for different functions, like sales manager got the order from sales person and sales manager either approve it or reject it, if he approve it it goes to Production manager and he ships the goods, now I want to keep sales person, sales manger,production manager in seperate BPEL files and want to get the output of sales person to sales manager and sales manager to production manager please help me in dong this.
I was trying to make partner link in Sales manager of sales person and getting the input from there. I dont know this is right even or not, if it is right I dont know how to make data flow from one application to other.
Experience people please guide.

Yes you can do this.
If you each integration point to be in different process, you have to create three BPEL process.
1. Create a Async BPEL process 'A' which will be initiated when sales person creates the order.
2. From BPEL process 'A' call a ASync BPEL process 'B' which has the approval flow. Depending on the input from process 'A' the sales manager will review the order in workflow and approve or reject and send the result back to process 'A'.
3. Based on the result from workflow, invoke the Sync BPEL process 'C', where you can implement the shipping logic.
