How to make ADF Business Component Connection which is using XATransaction?

Hi all,
I'm using ORACLE 10.1.3 ADF business component, how to set this component using XA transaction? Is that possible to use xa transaction manually from application module?

I believe you mean to ask whether ADF BC uses XA Transaction.

What do you mean by "+Is that possible to use xa transaction manually from application module?+" - Do you mean exposing the transaction of ADF BC outside its AM..? If so, I'm afraid that its not supported.

11g ADF Business Component Browser + ADF BC security

Hi gang
I was hoping somebody could help me out with the ADF BC security features as outlined section 28.4.3 of the Fusion Developer's Guide for JDev 11g.
1) I note once you've defined a Policy Store via the ADF Security wizard, each time you run the ADF Business Component Browser a login dialog then shows requiring a user to be authenticated. Is there anyway to turn this off for the ADF BC model project for testing purposes without removing the whole Policy Store set of files?
2) The EO + EO attributes allow the role "unauthenticated-role" as a permission, documented online as:
"Select when you want to grant access privileges to unauthenticated users. All users, including unauthenticated users, for example, those *not*required* to log on to the application, are automatically considered by Oracle Platform Security to be a member of the anonymous-role."
(Note my emphasis in the quote)
Given this, once the ADF Security is enabled, the login dialog always appear for the ADF Business Component Browser. How do you login in an unauthenticated fashion to test an unauthenticated user's privileges against an authenticated privileges?

authenticationRequire="false"/>
in the .adf\META-INF\adf-config.xml file

Error while adding ADF Business Component

Hi All,
I am using JDev 11.1.1.3 and trying to create a new Application.
Under the Model Project of this Application when I am trying to add Business component I am getting following error:
" *Wizard Open Error*
*Illegal name. It is either a reserved word or an object of a given name already exists within the project.*
*com.java.DemoApp.Model*
*Exception: oracle.jbo.dt.objects.JboException* "
Steps I followed:
New Application --> Fusion Web Application (ADF) --> Gave App name and hit Finish Button.
Model and View Controller Projects got created.
Now when I am trying to add ADF Business Component I am Getting above error.

once you deployed an application, users and roles are no longer in the domain of ADF Security. So the administration is
WLS console - if users and groups are in the WLS LDAP
Identity Management - if users and roles are in OID, RDBMA, Active Directory etc.
Enterprise Managers - to manage application roles and granting permissions or application roles to enterprise groups

ADF Business Component problem

I am trying to Setting Up ADF Business Component Data Sources, pass all steps. Deployed oracle.bi.integration.adf.ear on WLS, added OBIEEBroker proggect to an application and so on. But when I deploy my application I am getting exception.

The problem with the datagridview is that it can only show one table.
For more tables 3th party datagrid's are better.
Although you can start with using the old datagrid. Despite what is written on MSDN is it a complete different control then the datagridview. You can add in to your toolbox by right clicking on it and then add it.
The datasource of a DataGrid can be a complete dataset which is showed with all its relations.

Do you understand how to make the Slider work using code to read its value? You will need to look into that in order to do this.
What you can do is have the yello rectangle be a movieclip that sits over the red rectangle and use the Slider to control the yellow rectangle's alpha property from 0 to 1. That way the yellow will gradually fade as you slide.
What you will then need to do is figure out how to make the number of dots that appear reduce from 15 to 8 over the same range of the slider. You need to use the fractional value from the slider to decide how many dots either appear or do not appear.

You can't really get the individual patch IDs from a merged patch, unless you have the log file from the admrgpch run available.
You can, however, get the list of bugs fixed by a merged patch, and those bug numbers sometimes, but not always, correspond to a patch ID. Keep in mind, though, that individual patches often contain entries for multiple bug numbers.
Here's a query that I use to look at the contents of merged patches. It works best if the merged patches have been given unique names, instead of the default name 'merged' from admrgpch. If you run it and see that everything belongs to patch name 'merged,' you might want to change the selected column to ap.applied_patch_id instead of ap.patch_name.

How can we find out the disk which is used for a mount point?
one of our mount point(/u03/oracle/prod) was using high I/O and this was causing slowness in the server.
I can see a disk operation error in errpt at the same time as below. Wanted to check whether the mount point /u03/oracle/prod is using the disk hdisk31

Programmatic ADF Business Component Work

Is there any documentation on advanced usages of ADF Business Components at the programmatic level? Oracle supplies a lot of documentation (i.e ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developers) regarding the programmatic use of business components at the individual component level (i.e. a single entity object, view object, etc). But I cannot seem to locate any good resources for aiding in the programmatic use and development of already defined business components. I have gone through Part II "Building Your Business Services" and Part IV "Advanced Topics" of the Dev Guide trying to develop an understanding, but I find there is just too much content to sift through to collate the information that I think I need (if it is even present in the Dev Guides to begin with).
I am at the point where I know how to define, customize and extend my business components. My problem is now that I need to USE the business components to create methods and processes as required by my project. To be specific, I essentially have to write a process that uses a specific ViewObject and the ViewObjects linked to it (through ViewLinks) to redefine the parent's PK, copy it and it's originally associated child rows

The application module class has generated getter methods to access any view object intstance in the data model.

Error JBO-33003 ADF Business component as an EJB remote

Hi,
I need to deploy an ADF application (model in business component and view in ADF Faces) in a multi-tier architecture. I deployed the MODEL project (bc4j) in an OAS’s OC4J instance. Now, when I try to test de application I get the following error:
oracle.jbo.ConfigException: JBO-33003: Connection name <my_conn_to_oas> not defined.
Also, I tried to connect to de EJB session from my VIEW project, so I changed the file DataBindings.cpx. I changed the line Configuration="AMProyectosLocal" to Configuration="AMProyectosAS_DS".
When I run the view project I get the same error:

I reviewed the datasource configuration and it is Ok.
The connection’s name isn't a datasource name. It is the connection’s name to the APPLICATION SERVER. I reviewed the bc4j.xcfg file and it has the following definition:

How to Make an explicit oracle connection to a default.

I have 2 connections to oracle db using connection identifier. At one point of time, i would like to make one of the explicit connection as default, which means further along i do not want to use the "AT" clause, instead queries should default to default connection.
Referring to below url, it only speaks about 2 distinct explicit connections, does not mention how to convert one of the explicit connection as default.

Looking at google, i found a reference to a url, ora7. In section, 17.2.5, It does say how to make a connection default - by using EXEC SQL SET CONNECT connection_name. However it seems , its not supported anymore.

Harry - just because you are new doesn't mean that you can keep posting the same message over and over. There are 4 entries for your question already - and as Frank replies in one of them there is no templating built in in 10.1.3 - you can use copy/paste of your component.
Some people use Regions to do templating - though this is not supported and won't migrate to 11 (you can search google for template and adf region - and you'll find the solution).

I'm really stressed after searching the web for a tutorial on how to create a business card in Adobe Illustrator CC. I already have the graphics done, but I just need to know the dimensions and what unit it is. I'm using a homemade kit for these business cards. They're Avery, and I've used the template provided by them but every time I use it, print it out the business card is too low, or high or even cut off right when I have them exactly in the template. The product number is 8373. ASAP assistance would be nice as I'd like to get this done.

Make sure you align your page using the Page tool ( the one that looks like a hand in the lower section of the tool palette). Also, set a holding line for the document dimensions ( I use an 8.5"w x 11"h Rectangle with a no fill, no stroke applied to it > then I lock it ). This will hopefully align the document through the printer.
