How to make color photo effect ?

Hi there,
I have a school class photo of my daughter taken some 6 years ago taken in colour.
Now the affect i wanna do is to turn the rest of her classmates in black & white, except my girl stands out in colour.
Any ideas ?
Thanks

If that filter is not good enough, it looks as though you will have to spend hundreds of pounds on Photoshop!
However, would you be interested if I offered you an application, completely free of charge, which for most people is just as good as Photoshop?
You would?
Well there is one . . . . . it's called "Gimp" and can be downloaded here:-
http://www.gimp.org/
Don't be fooled by the odd name and the cartoon-like icon. This is a fully featured, professional quality application.
SORRY! I thought you said you hadn't got Photoshop, but it looks as though you have.
Anyway, the tip might be useful for somebody else, viewing this thread, who doesn't have PS.

I suppose there might be an extension, but you would be better off using a free photo editor.
I use "IrfanView" (irfanview.com) to work with photographs.
I use "PicPick" (picpick.org) to work from a screen print ("PrtSc") or capture to crop and annotate.

Something simpler may or may not be:
:Picnik (picnik.com), online photo editing, fix photos, crop, resize, rotate, artsy effects, fonts, shapes.
You also have alternatives storing the picture and./or elsewhere and providing a link

  • How to make a photo half black and white with select colours

    Hey,
Can anyone give me step by step instructions on how to make a photo black and white with abit of colour like the one attached... on CS4?
    Cheers

Haven't seen you attached file as it takes a long time for attachments to load on this forum.  Try little camera icon instead.
EASIEST way to have B&W in areas is to add Hue and Saturation adjustment layer.  Use sliders to make B&W.  Next paint on layer MASK, with black, to restore color in areas you want to show color.

  • How to use Color Splash Effect in Photoshop CS6?

    Hi everyone
Can you guy help me out How to use Color Splash Effect in Photoshop CS6? I need to use in slide in my web
    Thanks

You mean "leave part in color and make the rest black and white"?
Just select or mask the part that should be B&W and desaturate, or use the B&W adjustment.
Or you can add a B&W adjustment layer and mask out the parts that should stay in color.

How to make a photo STAY in the assets panel for future use for In browser editing?
When I delete a photo from a page, it does not stay in the assets panel. My client uses in browser editing daily. Once a week he changes a photo just for a day, then needs the previous photo to replace it. The original photo is not in the asset panel (or folder) for him to choose.
When you upload a photo, it has an arrow in the asset panel. How do you use this as an asset?

Sure ... right mouse click on  your page and choose 'Exclude Page from Menus' :-)

  • Through SharePoint Client Object model, how to make color coded events on Sharepoint Calendar

    Hi,
Through SharePoint Client Object model, how to make color coded events on Sharepoint Calendar.
    Plese share your knowledge.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to make a color events Calendar.
We can achieve it using the OOB method by creating the Calendars Overlay.
    http://summit7systems.com/color-code-calendar-events-in-sharepoint/
You can also use the JavaScript to achieve it.

  • How to make a rubber effect like when you swipe between apps using 4 fingers on iPad ?

    Hey guys,
So how to make a rubber effect like when you swipe between apps (first or last app) using 4 fingers on iPad iOS7 ? Any examples ?
    Thanks!
    Ivan

Please do not double post the same question.
Just like I said before. Animate X scale and position. Set the anchor point of the left image to the left side. You can then use an expression or just generate keyframes for scale. When you flip to the next screen then animate position. Easy basic animation except for the bounce. Key framing the bounce so that it looks natural takes a lot of experience or an expression.
Google bounce expression after effects and find this. http://www.motion-graphics-exchange.com/after-effects/Wiggle-rubber-bounce-throw-inertia-e xpressions/4ad0f32a944ad
There are a bunch of other solutions.
There is no single click solution to this problem and it is not an effect, it is an animation.

  • How to make a photo like this? (footballer)

    Dear All,
I am enclosing a photo that I found in the Internet. This is a footballer photo.
May I know how I can make a photo like this in terms of color and texture in Photoshop? Many thanks!
    Best regards,
    Keith

What you'll want to do is pick a photo with something like a person or an animal in the foreground. Then, use the Lasso tool to trace around the outside. Separate the person and the background into two or more layers, depending on how much you want to change. Up the saturation on the background, and apply a blur under the filter menu. It might just be the angle the photo was taken from, but they could have possibly added a light effect behind him as well. As for the guy, it looks like they upped the contrast and lowered brightness. Since i don't know from what angle the photo was taken, those are the only effects I can say were most likely used.
    Hope this helps,
    Cole

  • How to make color tone like this?

I'd like to find out how to make similar "color tone" effect like this:
    http://www.horror-movies.ca/watermark.php?filename=poster_THE_SITTER_2D_ORING.jpg
I'm talking about those striking "artificial" skin tones you can see on many movie posters (or advertising/fashion posters). For example:
    http://www.impawards.com/2008/posters/curious_case_of_benjamin_button_ver3.jpg
    http://www.impawards.com/2008/posters/tropic_thunder_ver4.jpg

    http://www.impawards.com/tv/posters/dexter_ver2.jpg
    http://www.impawards.com/2008/posters/hellboy_two_ver2.jpg
I don't know how to describe it (sorry, english is not my first language), but I like the way the color on the skin affects only certain tones. I hope you understand what I'm talking about :) I tried to play with layer blending (BW + color balance of shadows)... but I never manage to do something like this. I suppose it has to be a common technique, sice I see it on so may posters and photos. Does anybody have some advice? Thanks!

    Alan,
The links you posted seem to suggest the effect you are after may be the result of luminance masking, perhaps coupled with a knockout layer to protect the eyes. Try this procedure:
    (a) Duplicate the background layer CTRL + J (and perhaps rename it Blur as that helps to emphasise the purpose of the new layer).
    (b) With the new Blur layer active, from the Menu bar choose Filter/Blur/Gaussian blur about 20% for starters each image may require slight variations to this amount.
    (c) Turn off the visibility of the new Blur layer and select/make active the Background layer.
    (d) Go to Channels Palette and CTRL click on the Red channel. Return to the Layers Palette. Turn visibility of new Blur layer back on and select it.
    (e) With the new Blur layer active, click the Add layer mask button at the bottom of the Layers Palette this adds the Luminosity Mask to this layer and results in seeing the Gaussian blur now only inside the lightest (50%) details of the image. Now change the Blend Mode of this layer from Normal to Overlay. If the effect seems too strong, try the Soft Light blend mode which is less severe. If you want a greater effect than Overlay delivers, try Linear Light. You can back off the effect of any of these blend modes with the Opacity slider but that would, I think, also back off the amount of Blur, which may or may not (depending upon the image) lessen the overall effect you are aiming for.
    (f) Next comes the Knockout Layer (KL) to remove the effect of these Blur and Blend Mode edits from the eyes. The KL must be on top of the Blur layer, so make the Blur layer active and then add a new transparent layer above it - CTRL + Shift + N and name it Knockout.
    (g) On the new KL, select the eyes with the Elliptical Marquee Tool (select too much rather than too little reason follows later) and fill the selection with Black ALT + Backspace (provided Foreground Colour in Tools Palette is Black). Then deselect the eyes CTRL + D.
    (h) Bring up the Layer Style dialog box (LSDB) by double clicking on the icon for the KL. In the LSDB change Knockout from None to Shallow and reduce Fill Opacity from 100 to zero % and click OK which dismisses the LSDB. That is it you have now eliminated the effects of the Blur layer on the eyes using the Black holes on the KL.
    (i) To remove any excess eye selection, you use the Eraser tool (set to about 50% hardness) and paint around the edges of the eyes with the Eraser tool what this is doing is reducing the size of the holes in the KL and bringing back the effects of the edits from the Blur layer.

  • How to make a photo [in iphoto ]into a poster

i would like to make a photo into a poster using my printer ...i know the printer prints 8.5x11 sections that you trim & past together but i'm not sure how to do this [i have a canon pixma ip14000 printer]
    imac   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I have made many digital photos into posters.BUT they were all fairly hi-rez photos to begin with. In other words, I can make a reasonable looking 30x40" poster starting with a photo from my 7 megapixel as opposed to a photo from my 3.2 MP camera. Depending on the final product, a person v. nature shot, if a person, the detail must be better, that means a highly concentrated shot 7,000,000 pixels before enlargement. I import it into photoshop, and depending on the effect, separate the person from the background do a gaussian blur, or convert the BG into B/W, sepia, or whatever, blend the two layers together import it into Adobe Illustrator for the enlargement (400-600%) and a fantastic border, and voila!!
The point being, to make an effective enlargement, you must start with a quality photo.
I somewhat doubt that an iPhoto will have the quality needed. If you have the original, and it was shot with a quality camera, use that.
    Hope I didn't bore you!!

  • How to make a photo slideshow with next button

Is it possible to make a photo slideshow for a dvd that will use the next button to go forward to the next photo? Can I import a video from another dvd and include it in the same dvd on which I put the photo slideshow? They might fit: 220 mb of photos and the video dvd is 2.6 gb

    Hi arthurav42
Welcome to apple discussions. First thing to mention is that iDvd doesn't look at MB's or file sizes (excluding the dvd-rom section of the dvd). Rather, it looks at QT playback in hours and minutes. We call this total run time and it is not to exceed 2 hours / 120 minutes for a SL Dvd-R (and about twice that for DL).
As to your first question, Is it possible to make a photo slideshow for a dvd that will use the next button to go forward to the next photo? The direct answer is not within iDvd. You'd need apple's pro apps FCS/DVDSP in order to add a next button to individual photos contained within a manual slideshow.
However, one may be able to simulate this feature in iDvd with the use of a graphics app like Adobe PS in which one could add an arrow to any given jpeg / photo. It wouldn't highlight the button itself after it's selected on a remote / clicked but it would move directly to the next image once a person clicks on it (or anywhere else on the image for that matter).
As for the second question, Can I import a video from another dvd and include it in the same dvd on which I put the photo slideshow? ..... Again the answer is yes within DVDSP and not directly within iDvd (you'd need a third party app like DVDXDV from which one can convert to a QT file for use within any of the i-apps or pro apps for that matter like DVDSP). Once converted, simply add the movie to the slideshow feature in iDvd. And yes it's possible to add both photos and movies to the slideshow in iDvd. For example:
