How to make .mp4 video play on android tablet using Adobe Flash CS6 with AIR

Hey,
Im using Adobe Flash Professional CS6 with AIR, im a bit of a novice when it comes to this.
But for university I have to make an application for an android device that plays short videos.
Ive imported the videos onto the library and placed them on the stage and it runs on the test of my machine but once publish the app to test it on the tablet all i get is a black box. done some reseach into this and cant find the resolution.
like i said im a bit of a novice and this is a whole new area for me. any help/advice would be great.

Hey, did you get any solution to the problem? I'm facing the same issue. but my videos are in a separate folder and using ADDCHILD i'm trying to attach them on the stage. they work fine on desktop but not on android. i also included the video folder in android packager.

Not from Apple, no, and probably never will be. You can try one of the third-party app/service combinations for playing Flash such as Skyfire , Puffin, or iSwifter. One of those might work for you, though they all have limitations and do not work with all Flash-based sites and services. You may find other suggestions for apps in the many other threads on Flash in this forum.

How to make imported video play on click?

We have imported our video into flash cs4 (we are using presentation mode to mimic a powerpoint presentation), we have gone into the component inspector and altered it so it doesn't autoplay. When it is on autoplay, it plays the audio throughout the entire presentation. We want the video to start on click (hit the spacebar or return or anything) but we cannot figure out how. Any suggestions?

The easiest thing to do is to create a skin (the bar with play, stop, etc.) for your video. And, when you are in Flash, there is an icon you can click on (with 3 shapes) that brings up a menu bar. The piece of information you want states: "autoplay: true". You should be able to click on this and change the setting to: "autoplay: false". After publishing and saving, remember to upload your Scripts folder, original swf file and "skins" swf file......and, all to the same directory (listing of web files); ie. don't let your skins swf be in a different folder than your original swf, etc.
If you use this process, you don't have to do any code editing in as (actionscript; as2 and as3 reference various versions of the actionscript language).
If you want to avoid any as editing, you'll have to create a skin. A button that appears on the first frame to play a clip, then is hidden after the clip begins would involve AS code editing.
If you're trying to hide the video, then show "onclick", you'll have to select an image or text, navigate to the insert "spry>spry tooltip" and replace the "Insert Spry Tooltip Content" text with your swf file (drag/drop).

YouTube works fine. Other websites play videos, no problem.
But then I'll go to a website and see a message that the video is either corrupt or is not supported.

A bit frustrated, because everywhere I look for help on this, I either come across pages saying it should work, Firefox supports mp4 etc, OR forums where it's webmakers asking the question and then the solution is something wrong in their coding - which doesn't help me, the lonely end user.

Because it seems like the only alternative is to abandon Firefox and start using Chrome, which has no problem with the above-mentioned videos.

I have win7 home, firefox 35.0.1. Java but no other add-on/extension that matters.

Videos play in slow motion using quicktime 7.7 with Iphoto 08'

I have several HD videos from my Sony NEX-3 camera that will not play very well from within iMovie. They freeze up, or run in slow motion while the sound track continues without any problem. I've seen other related comments on this forum, but no one has suggested a fix yet. I can play my clips just fine from the finder menu using "Quick Look". Other videos from the same camera work, what has changed?

After some tinkering, I discovered this solution. It worked for me, and it was pretty easy....go to system preferences and look at the bottom of the screen for your list of OTHER options. I had an icon for 3ivx MPEG-4, so I clicked on it and selected the option that reads "I would like 3ivx to decode all of my MPEG-4 videos.". Now everything is running smoothly again. Hope this helps anybody else with this situation!

I downloader a VLS Streamer from the Apple app store. It requires some kind of helper software to run, which, as far as I can tell from the video at the developer's site, allows one to download content from one's mobile device to their computer. Since I don't have a compatible computer for my iPad to link to, the instructions don't help my situation. I emailed them with my query and will probably hear from them sometime this week.
I've lived with this problem for the 3 months I've had my iPad, and I'll keep after it until I have a solution. But right now, I've run out of steam. If this lead helps me to resolve my issue, I'll come back and HELPFUL or RESOLVED every response you've given. I'm very grateful for your help. Sorry I'm so utterly clueless.

I have a .swf file that I'am trying to open but it seems that I can't. Is there any way that I can use Flash Player to do so?
The .swf I'm trying to open is a game, when i right-click on it and i click on Open With, I don't see Flash Player as one of the options.

There IS a standalone Flash Player but is's part of Flash Professional. You'd need to purchase it (or download a 30 day trial, but I don't know if the Flash Player would keep working after the trial expires).

How to make youtube video gallery auto play (&autoplay=1) work properly?

Does anybody know how to make youtube videos play when clicked on the thumbnails in the video gallery? I have added the auto play function in the iframe code

How do I create an orange flash transition effect using Adobe Premiere CS6?

I am trying to create an orange flash transition effect using Adobe Premiere CS6 with my MAC computer.

Try this:
Add Cross Dissolve, cut and nest
Add a Fast Blur to the nest and tweak as in first screendump
Superimpose orange Color Matte and tweak as in second screendump
Make (fixed) effects into presets for future use.

QuickTime requires player and plugins that most people don't have. You'll reach a much wider audience if you use HTML5 <video> with mp4, webm and ogg files.

how to do a keyframe trasition in the Color FX room
I realize that you can "add" keyframes to the timeline in COLORFX, but I don't believe they are always observed, and then they usually disappear in retrieved projects, and aren't persistent if you leave the room. To remember where they are... you might mark in a keyframe on those frames in another room as a pathfinder. The behaviour is consistent with a creature of the six-legged variety.
Method 1. If you are trying to taper the effect (any effect) in COLOR FX, the most linear approach is to render two versions of the clip; one "with", one "without" and do an opacity fade once you have returned them to Final Cut. This gives you the most control, flexibility, repeatability and consistency.
Method 2. You may attempt to keyframe the bleach bypass settings within the node itself -- the preset that comes with COLOR doesn't have any controls, but the Nattress plugin does.
Method 3. Set up a "blend" node with your bleach bypass feeding one of the inputs and leave the second input to default to the untreated video... keyframe a transition from "1.00000" to "0.00000" and that should work.
Note: the keyframe timeline markers will disappear from the timeline if you exit the clip, but the effect is likely to persist. At least that was what was happening a couple of minutes ago... for me, the effect and blend performed the transition just like it was previewing when rendered. This strategy is subject to being created and rendered "on the spot right now", and I advise making sure you have your renderqueue settings ready to go... load the clip from the COLORFX room using the Mac command bar at the top of the screen and render it right away. Don't try to save it for later. Just Do It.
An announcement went around about two weeks ago that Mr. Deakins' website was back up and running, so give him another try... poor guy has been swamped probably doing Dreamweaver maintenance... yeah, that must be it...

We are trying to create an interactive video in Flash. Basically, we need to put this video in our game, and players should be able to pause/replay/play it.
I found some tutorial about this topic, but all of them were created more than 2 years ago. They all use FLV/F4V files.
But now, Adobe Media Encoder doesn't support exporting FLV file.
As what mentioned in this page:

Flash team seems recommend users to input mp4. video rather than FLA video.
