How to make new Maxtor 500 GB the primary drive on my G5

I filled my 160 hd which came with my G5 1.8 Mhz with applications and Iphoto pics. Now that am shooting raw, even larger files. I would like to use Photoshop and Lightroom, new upgrades are available, but my Hd has only 14GB left. I use backup to external hd , but don't know how to retrieve lost IPhoto pics (library) nor my Photoshop pics which I had given batch names, and file information to.
I tried putting the utility disc in thinking after installing the HD it wouod be recognized and I could proceed to install Tiger, partition a bootable drive, etc. I need a good reference. My books are to vague. I wrote another post on this topic and cannot find it anywhere??? Please refer me to any good reference articles in the apple database or other posts with people upgrading their internal hard drives. I want to be able to use all my apps from the biggest drive. I have been putting photoshop images into external drive and deleting from my primary drive to make space and limp on with barely any memory in my startup disc. What do people do when using big hog programs and large images files?

Swapping and adding a hard drive is asked almost daily.

You can set the browser.newtab.url pref on the about:config page to the desired URL.
Type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key to open the about:config page like you open a website by typing the URL in the location bar.
*If you see a warning message then you can confirm that you want to access the about:config page.
You can use the Search bar at the top of the about:config page to locate preferences more easily
So in this case start typing browser.newtab until you see the line with the browser.newtab.url pref.
You can right-click this line and select modify and change the value of this pref to your preferred new tab website.

Oracle doesn't check the path exists, you must make sure the path is well written and it really exists on your OS. In the case of Unix like OS' you must make sure it has enough privileges for the oracle os user to be able to at least read and write if required.

Initializing new Maxtor 500 GB 2nd Hard Drive

I purchased and installed a new 500GB Maxtor drive for my Mac G5 and everything went perfect. (MS eat your heart out).
My question is this... after formating (Mac OS Extended, journaled),.. the available space is 460 GB. What does the OS do with the other 40 GB on the 500 GB drive? Why does it take so much space? 40 GB is nothing to scoff at.

Drive manufacturers spec their drives based on a MegaByte being equal to 1,000,000 bytes so a 500 GB drive stores 500,000,000,000 bytes based on that standard. Computers, however, base a MegaByte as being equal to 1,048,576 bytes (2^20.) Thus, the "true" formatted capacity of the drive is 465.66 GBs less a tad for overhead. You aren't missing any space, it's a difference in measurement. If you read drive specs carefully you will usually find a footnote somewhere with a disclaimer stating that the megabyte is defined as 1,000,000 bytes (or a gigabyte as 1,000,000,000 bytes.)

How to make arch bootable after shifting the hard drive?

I have two hard drives, each having an OS installed (Arch on sda, Win on sdb). I change the boot order in BIOS to switch between the OS's, and it works fine. Grub is installed in mbr.
But now I wanna change the connection of these two drives (Arch=>sdb, Win=>sda). After doing that, however, windows is still bootable, while Arch not any more.
I can sucessfully see Grub, but errors occur after that. I'm not sure what I should do to make Arch bootable. Can anyone give me some ideas?

If you can see Grub, then the system is reading it OK, but you'll need to boot the system and fix your /boot/grub/menu.lst and /etc/fstab files to refer to hd(1) and sdb respectively.
To boot the system, you have 2 options:
1) When Grub shows up, press 'e' to edit the "ArchLinux" entry. Then press 'e' again to edit the 'root' line and then change hd(0,0) to hd(1,0) (the second number might be different depending how your partition table is setup). Then you can press 'b' to boot.
2) Use an install CD to boot, then mount your Arch partition and edit the files from there

I thought the question was well purposed. Using HTML was not acceptable in this instance, which was made clear, so why critisize his comments? "Using HTML" is a poor solution, it does NOT work in many instances due to browser, OS variations. Usually the "common answer" is never a COMPLETE answer.

Known Limitations:
1. Flowlayout does not work well with single line text buttons... perhaps another layout manager may work better for various buttonsizes-linenumber combos.
2. Mac OSX : The default UI for Mac OS X (and above it seems), is to have rounded edged buttons. These rounded edges are destoryed when using JLabels, leaving a square, blocky button in its place.
POSSIBLE SOLUTION:

Does anyone know if there is a way to do this?
We have a number of reports that we schedule to various locations in Excel and PDF. We are frequently getting problems which are manifesting themselves as empty data providers and if we run them as Web Intelligence reports it says Partial Results. Re running the reports normally fixes the problem and returns the data correctly but the problem is that the scheduler reports them as successful and the emails or files get distributed (causing our customers to complain!!!).
Currently using XIr2 +SAP integration Kit migrating to XI 3.1 in July 2009
Any ideas/suggestion would be appreciated...
I did find reference to the adapt case ADAPT01122128 which may help but when and if are unkowns so not much help.
