I believe if you download the installer which is a dmg file, you double click on the dmg image to mount it and then run the installer that is inside the dmg.

I paid over $600 dollars to be able to have all of the creative suite 5 and now that I have a touch screen that I can work off of it seems like I being told that you have to pay a monthly fee just to be able to work on one of the five programs I already paid for on my tablet. Not only that touch screens where around since 1990's and in 2007 the first multi touch screen was introduced its not that they weren't around its that Adobe refused to incorporate them with their software and now that they are more common Adobe is cashing in with a monthly fee.

I didn’t know how to word the header for my question so I’ll try to clarify it here. I’m new to AF so please bear with me. In the Adobe tutorial at the link below, he animates a flower. The flower is in front of a colored background and there are some added text that animate as well. I understand about layers but my question is, can I make a graphic like the one in the tutorial in Photoshop CS5 and import it into AF? I just ordered a copy of PS CS5 and have not gotten a chance to work with PS. When I searched the net about my question, I found many links describing how to make web graphics. Would I be making the same thing and saving them not as a web graphic? If I can make something similar to the flower in the tutorial, then I can go from there. I guess what is confusing for me is that the background and flower assets are mp4 (mpeg) video. There's a lot implied here, but you're not going to get around having to do the following in general:
Use an unmarked map as a background.
Draw shapes on layer(s) above the background and make them partially transparent.
Obviously the key is to draw shapes that express the "cone of uncertainty" exactly as you want it to look, and with a minimum of fuss.
I'd suggest drawing shapes with Path tools, then filling the shapes, applying a stroke (for the edge border), and using masking to hide parts you don't want to show (or which overlap with the other parts you're drawing).
Are you needing to do this over and over or just once?

How to make a Previous/Next Menu

Hi there. This is my first time posting in the Adobe forums so please be patient if I don't do things correctly.
I currently have the Adobe Web Design CS5 package and all the programs that come with it, but my question is specifically about Dreamweaver. My computer is a Macbook with the latest operating system as far as I know.
I've been trying to create a next/previous menu for parts of my own personal website. It's http://www.aidenart.com . If you click on the link to the Concept Art page you should see a bunch of image thumbnails that act as links. Click on any one of those images and you're suppose to see the full image from the thumbnail in a whole new page. On the pages with the full images I would like to include, at the bottom, a jump menu so that a visitor can pick any of the pages that they might want to see (I already know how to do this part), but I would also like to include buttons which allow the visitor to visit the next image in the list and also the previous one in the list. You know, a previous and next menu. I've seen other websites using those kinds of buttons so I know it's possible somehow.
By looking at the source code of some websites and doing a bit of research on my own, I think this can be done using javascript of some kind. Maybe by using an "onClick" behaviour or something. I looked at a few different web help sites, including W3 Schools, and I still haven't found any clear cut explanations on how to make a previous/next menu. If someone could just show me the basic code for making a simple one that actual works then I could probably work from that.
I would prefer it if I didn't have to bother with the dreamweaver extenstions section because most things listed in the exchange are something you have to pay for. And for those of you who think I should just make individual links on each page, please keep in mind that I'll want to add more pages in the future. Most likely a lot of pages. I also want to be able to make previous/next menus for the comics section of my website for when I have more comic pages available, so I really need to know how to do this.
I hope that was enough information for you guys. I can try to provide code if you guys want although I'm not sure how that would help solve my current problem.

Only way to do pagination effectively requires either a database or XML files containing your data. Neither way is really for a beginner based on my experience with both. And based on the size of your library right now, pagination isn't what you really need.
If it is going to be an image gallery you could look into the php Gallery script if you have a mySQL database ( http://gallery.menalto.com/ ). But for simple solutions.
For even smaller solutions you can look to JQuery solutions. They require minimal amounts of coding, mostly just file inclusions.

How to make site root-relative links work in DW and Server both?

See details on buggy DW image link behavior, below. My question is:
1) how to make site root-relative links work in DW and Server both? Or…
2) how to reliably automate the change of several hundred legacy root-relative links of the form
/images/image.jpg to document-relative?
That is, to
../images/image.jpg or
../../images/image.jpg or
../../../images/image.jpg etc…depending on where the directory is.
The old format (/images/image.jpg ) used to work fine in my previous DW 8 configuration but appear grey in DW after “upgrading” to DW cs5.5 mac. (they look fine on the server, but it’s hard to edit image-heavy pages locally when they are all grey).
I tried changing the files to how DW creates root relative links now:
/public_html/images/image.jpg, which is a very easy, attractive root flow since there’s a one-to-one mapping. These look great in DW but are broken on the server!
I looked at the “advanced” site setup, and it looked like it might be possible to nuke the /public_html/ part of my server info…but it also looked like there was the potential for doing damage changing these settings, which are automatically generated from our server connection settings, which seem to work.
The “links relative to document/ site root” toggle…does that change how DW interprets existing links, or just change the default when you are adding a link? I have made 80% of the file links document relative…before wondering if root-relative isn’t better?
It sure seems less ambiguous for all those images if theres a way to make root relative work for DW design view, DW link check, and server.

Thanks for jumping on this.
All clear and understood about where publc_html is etc.
No contemplation of nuking the actual public_html directory on the server, just the "/public_html" text string at the start of the DW-generated links.
"/public_html" is automatically added to the front of the link in DW if I create the link with any of the GUI tools, if I have "site root relative" selected. And ""/public_html" ends up in the code, and gets uploaded that way to the server, where it (obviously) doesn't work.
Doesn't sound like it is supposed to work this way. Also, what seems to be the usual root relative format (/images/image.jpg) shows as a broken link in the GUI and an external link in the DW link check. All this togther makes me thinkI have some obscure setting incorrect?
The setting that caught my eye is manage sites/ site setup/ advance settings/ local info/ web url, which is automatically set to http://www.oasisdesign.net/public_html/
it gives an option to change it but it makes every effort to make this NOT look like something users should mess with:
Having gone through the more careful thought process during this post, I'm ready to do the experiment of changing the remote server web URL (why is it wrong by default?)...think I'll eat dinner first so there's 45 min to avert disaster if anyone knows this to be a bad idea!

Merge to HDR Pro - how to make it work?

The 'Automate -> Merge to HDR' feature worked fine during the first few weeks of my Ps CS5 trial but now doesn't work. Photoshop gets through the Merge to HDR Pro dialog but throws the attached error when returning to Ps.
If Merge to HDR Pro is chosen on DNG images from Lightroom 2.7 or Bridge CS5, Photoshop again gets through the Merge to HDR Pro dialog but when creating the HDR image and returning to Ps seems to throw it away with no resulting error. Photoshop just stares blankly with no image open.
I experienced the same error with CS4 and was excited when the Merge to HDR Pro feature on my CS5 trial worked fine, yet with 5 days left in the trial the HDR feature now refuses to cooperate. It previously was working OK from the Automate menu, from Lr 2.7, and from Bridge. What exactly I did to upset Photohop is a mystery.
I've tried resetting preferences and removing all plugins and extenstions to no avail. Any ideas on how to make Merge to HDR Pro functional?

There has been a long and continuous thread regarding CS5 having problems when one tries to save images that have been combined in Merge to HDR Pro. I have exactly the same problem. I have been shooting 3 images bracketed -1, 0, +1 or -2, 0, +2. When I select 3 images in Bridge. Go to Tools>Ph otoshop>Merge to HDR Pro the computer does its work and produces an image of a combination of the 3. I can see the image, and in the Layers Panel I see 3 Layers plus one Layer that is entitled Merge to HDR Pro(layer is devoid of image. When I try to Save As Photoshop freezes up. I am authoring a DL DVD disc for a Yoga Institute, after burning original master with No copies allowd condition using, CGMS - CSS conditions, How to make 1000 copies.
If I buy DVD duplicator ( replicator?) and hook up to PC via USB , then use the duplicator burner to make copies, how it works. As I tried on www days, after days, burning my eyes, all information is confusing.

One way to recreate the elliptical multicolored look:
Firstly, select the elliptical shape tool, as shown below.
Draw a circle, and set the fill to none. Then set the stroke as necessary for the color needed. I set mine to red, but you would change yours as needed.
Filter> Blur > Radial Blur. The dialog box can be seen below. Set the desired radial blur.
Shown below is the radial blur effect.
Edit > Transform Path > Warp, will warp the elliptical blur effect.
In the option tool bar under Warp, change the setting to Twist.
Set the Twist settings to Bend "100". The higher the amount, the more the twist effect.
The appearance of this can be seen below.
This creates a similar effect that you want. you would just need to create multiple of these in different colors for your desired effect. Manipulating the settings will create some variety as well. I hope this helps.
