How to map single context value attribute to multiple value attributes?

Hello,
is there any way to map a single value attribute
from view's context into several value attributes
in controller's context?
The business context of what I want to achieve
is the following: I have a view which can be called
in two modes: read only (RO) and read-write (RW).
The input parameters to the view are the same for
both modes, however when in RO mode, the view calls
a different set of web services than when called
in RW mode. Before calling each of the web services
I need to populate their context value attributes
with appropriate input values.
I know I can do it in Java code, but is it possible
to do it without any programming (doing it in the
source code is prone to errors)?
Any help highly appreciated.
Greetings,
Tomek.

Hi Kishore,
than you very much for your kind help.
I have already created a value attribute of type
boolean and mapped it into the read-only property
of the UI elements. This however does not solve all
of the problems... I will describe it with an
example:
Let's say the form I want to implement will be
used to: create (read-write mode), update (read-
write mode) or show (read-only mode) customer's
data. The customer's data is complex (lots of
data, including tree structures).
The problem is that:
- when the form is called in read-only mode,
  it should populate its fields with values
  provided by the getCustomerData web service,
- when the form is called to create a new
  customer (in read-write) mode, it should
  not use the getCustomerData web service.
  Instead it should map the input values
  entered by the user into input parameters
  of the createNewCustomer web service,
- when the form is called to update customer's
  data, it should first display values returned
  by the getCustomerData web service, and then
  it should map the modified values entered by
  the user into input parameters of the
  updateCustomer web service,
In all the above cases I must map my view's
context data to different controller's context
elements. Doing it directly in the source code
is not a nice solution. Is there any other
way to achieve this?
Calling a form in different modes in not an
unusual thing, so I was hoping that maybe
there are any built-in mechanisms that would
solve the obove problem...
Greetings,
Tomek.

  • How to map single input value to Two columns of Database table using format file of Bulk Copy Process

    Hi All,
    Am using OPENROWSET to load the file data into table, here the problem is i need to map same input value to two different columns of table, As format file doesn't allow the duplicate numbers am unable to insert same value to two columns, please help me to
    find a solution for this.
    i can use only OPENROWSET because i need to insert some default values also which come based on file. only the problem is how to map same input value to two different columns of table. please give me the suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Sudhakar

    From what you say:
       INSERT tbl(col1, col2)
          SELECT col1, col1
          FROM   OPENROWSET(....)
    But I guess it is more difficult. You need to give more details. What sort of data source do you have? What does your query look like? The target table?

    Hi Erland,
    Thanks for your response
    my source file is text file with | symbol separate for ex:
    1002|eTab |V101|eTablet|V100|Logic|LT-7|Laptops|SCM
    Database table have columns like
    column1,column2,column3...etc, now i need to insert same value from input file into two columns for ex:
    the eTab value from text file has to be insert into column2 and column3 of
    table
    we cannot change format file like below one
    for the above situation how can we insert eTab into column2 and column3

    I know with 100% certainty that there are not multiple values for A00012:A123.
    I have also copied the data ( from the powerpivot Designer) to another workbook and cannot reproduce the issue.

    I found the issue. In a seperate set of rows there was a duplicate. the rows had nothing to do with the rows that were actually mentioned in the error message. so a cause has been identified.

    Hi,
    you should add the context attribute to the html page itself, or another way of doing it is to implement the set_model method of the view controller.
    On the view controller you can find a lot of usefull attributes like the view manager which can help you understand the bsp framework

  • How to map single to multiple record in Biztalk Map

    Hi,
    I have a flat file Input as below
    For understandability I am making it as XML:
    <Input>
    <Name>vignesh</Name>
    <Country>India</Country>
    <orderNumber>123<orderNumber>
    </Input>
    I am having a look up table to retrieve multiple LineItem per Name
    Output expected
    I need to repeat the record based on the table as
    <Output>
    <Detail>
    <Name>vignesh</Name>
    <LineItems>38</LineItems>
    </Detail>
    <Detail>

    <Detail>
    <Name>vignesh</Name>
    <LineItems>85</LineItems>
    </Detail>
    </Output>
    I have created an external assembly to pull the data from database and concatenating the lineitems in a string as (38,45,88,99,85). Now either I need to use map functoids/inline xslt's.
    Please help to move further with some samples.
    Regards, Vignesh S

    Hi Vignesh,
    Add a scripting functiod as shown here in the image, in the scripting functiod call "Inline XSLT Call Template". This scripting functiod would have two parameters.
    1- Name link from the soruce schema. 2- Output something like "38,45,88,99,85" (without quotes). This could be link from the functiod which pulls the data from db. In my case, I just used a string fuctiod which would output
    38,45,88,99,85 to the scripting functiod.
    In the scripting fuctiod, use the below XSLT template. I have commented the XSLT to detail how it works:
    <xsl:template name="ConstructDetailNodeTemplate">
    <xsl:param name="name" />
    <xsl:param name="value" />
    <xsl:variable name="NameFromSoruce" select="$name"></xsl:variable>
    <!-- call splitter template which accepts the "," separated string -->
    <xsl:call-template name="StringSplit">
    <xsl:with-param name="nam" select="$NameFromSoruce" />
    <xsl:with-param name="val" select="$value" />
    </xsl:call-template>
    </xsl:template>
    <xsl:template name="StringSplit">
    <xsl:param name="nam" />
    <xsl:param name="val" />
    <!-- do a check to see if the input string (still) has a "," in it -->
    <xsl:choose>
    <xsl:when test="contains($val, ',')">
    <Detail>
    <Name>
    <xsl:value-of select="$nam"/>
    </Name>
    <!-- pull out the value of the string before the "," delimiter -->
    <LineItems><xsl:value-of select="substring-before($val, ',')" /></LineItems>
    </Detail>
    <!-- recursively call this template and pass in
    value AFTER the "," delimiter -->
    <xsl:call-template name="StringSplit">
    <xsl:with-param name="nam" select="$nam" />
    <xsl:with-param name="val" select="substring-after($val, ',')" />
    </xsl:call-template>
    </xsl:when>
    <xsl:otherwise>
    <!-- if there is no more delimiter values, print out
    the whole string -->
    <Detail>
    <Name>
    <xsl:value-of select="$nam" />
    </Name>
    <LineItems>
    <xsl:value-of select="$val" />
    </LineItems>
    </Detail>
    </xsl:otherwise>
    </xsl:choose>
    </xsl:template>
    The output would look like this as you wanted for the above your input:

  • Enhancing standard (single select)search help for Multiple value selection

    Hi,
    Standard search help for Business Partner (in cProjects) allows only single value selection for input fields. I want to make this multiple selection.
    Is there a way to do it.
    I used an OVS and built a similar search but its difficult to get the standard options like saving to personal value list etc in it.
    It would be good if there is a way to modify the standard search help to allow multiple selection. Any ideas??
    Appreciate your help,
    Thanks,
    Sri

    As far as I know you can't make a standard ABAP dictionary search help return multiple entries - where you get this sort of functionality the searches don't use the standard Elementary search help framework (e.g. organisational structure searches)
    Given that the WDA search help relies on these dictionary based searches, I'd think very much that you couldn't enhance it to return multiple. how you could even return multiple entries into a single UI element input field is also confusing to me.
    I'd suggest creating a freely programmed value help, it would certainly take quite some effort to recreate those personal value lists etc, but it could be done - I don't like OVS, but that just me.

  • Single RFC Lookup should return multiple values - but returns no values

    I have an RFC Lookup in my PID system that i had to change due to a test defect.
    the FM i wrote was working on a single value and returning the correct entry...  however it now needs to return multliple entries and map 0..unbounded....
    i have made the changes, the FM works in ECD, however when i call the FM from the mapping, it does not return any values...  now, i am asking my basis team to change the PIAPPLUSER to dialog user so i can throw a breakpoint for an external user...
    has anyone done a single to multi value mapping on lookup?  i am not sure that it is the FM that is incorrect as it is very simple code..
    DATA: lt_jobtype TYPE zhr_lkupjobtype_t.
      CLEAR     lt_jobtype.
      REFRESH lt_jobtype.
      SELECT * FROM zhr_lkupjobtype
        INTO TABLE lt_jobtype
        WHERE zinterface_id = import-zinterface_id
        AND   zsap_jobtype  = import-zsap_jobtype.
      MOVE lt_jobtype TO export.
    is there a way of checking the RFC part of an message mapping?  i checked the full trace within graphical mapping but this shows no return....

    I am using a MOVE instead of APPEND.
    according to the keyword help if the tables are identical, you can use MOVE.
    it works when i test in SE37.
    i have tested it both ways and i get the same result each time.
    i even tried it this way:
      SELECT * FROM zhr_lkupjobtype
        INTO TABLE export
        WHERE zinterface_id = import-zinterface_id
        AND   zsap_jobtype  = import-zsap_jobtype.
    and that works too to get the target values into the export table!  that's what made me think it was not the code as i have tried three different ways of writing the same code...  the Function Module works perfectly anyway!  but when it is called from PI i cannot see if any values are returned....

    All the dts INSERTed were 08:00:00; why are some displayed as 09:00:00 or 10:00:00?  I assume there are typos in the INSERT statements, and the results above are correct.
    Taking data from 1 column on N rows, and displaying it as N columns on 1 row is called Pivoting.  Search for "pivot" for details.
    If you know the exact dts for which you want to check, you can do something like this:
    SELECT    *
    FROM      test_table
    PIVOT     (    MIN (value)
              FOR  dt  IN ( TO_DATE ('12/31/2013 08:00:00', 'mm/dd/yyyy hh24:mi:ss')  AS hr_08
                          , TO_DATE ('12/31/2013 09:00:00', 'mm/dd/yyyy hh24:mi:ss')  AS hr_09
                          , TO_DATE ('12/31/2013 10:00:00', 'mm/dd/yyyy hh24:mi:ss')  AS hr_10                  )
    ORDER BY  metric_name
    I hope this answers your question.
    If not, post  a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all tables involved, and also post the results you want from that data.
    Point out where the query above is giving the wrong results, and explain, using specific examples, how you get the correct results from the given data in those places.  If you changed the query at all, post your code.

    now i want to insert multiple selected subjects with respect to selected multiple student id in to table when i press submit Button.
    My table is

    for i in 1..SUB.count loop
    insert into STUDENT_SUBJECT_DETAIL

    1. You have 2 loops, and they are both using the variable i as a counter.
    2. Your insert needs to be in the form: insert into table (column names) values (values to insert)
    3. Why not use a trigger to get the nextval from the sequence?

  • ORA-35563: Multiple values exist for an attribute of this dimension member

    After following the tutorial Building OLAP Cubes I was trying to make a cube with aggregation down to the day instead of down to the month.
    I created a times table pretty similar to the one used in the tutorial:
    CREATE TABLE EVENT_TIMES (
            HOUR_KEY        DATE NOT NULL,
            DAY_ID          VARCHAR2(10),
            DAY_NAME        VARCHAR2(10),
            DAY_END_DATE    DATE,
            DAY_TIME_SPAN   NUMBER,
            MONTH_ID        VARCHAR2(30) NOT NULL,
            MONTH_NAME      VARCHAR2(40),
            MONTH_END_DATE  DATE,
            MONTH_TIME_SPAN NUMBER,
            YEAR_ID         VARCHAR2(30) NOT NULL,
            YEAR_NAME       VARCHAR2(40),
            YEAR_END_DATE   DATE,
            YEAR_TIME_SPAN  NUMBER
    As you can see, instead of a DAY_KEY like in the tutorial, I now use an HOUR_KEY.
    This is a sample of the data I inserted in this table:
    select to_char(hour_key,'YYYYMMDDHH24MISS'),DAY_ID,DAY_NAME,DAY_END_DATE,DAY_TIME_SPAN,MONTH_ID,MONTH_NAME,MONTH_END_DATE,MONTH_TIME_SPAN,YEAR_ID,YEAR_NAME,YEAR_END_DATE,YEAR_TIME_SPAN from event_times;
    TO_CHAR(HOUR_KEY,'YYYYMMDDHH24MISS') DAY_ID     DAY_NAME   DAY_END_DATE DAY_TIME_SPAN MONTH_ID                       MONTH_NAME                               MONTH_END_DATE MONTH_TIME_SPAN YEAR_ID                        YEAR_NAME                                YEAR_END_DATE YEAR_TIME_SPAN
    20140104050000                       Y2014M1D4  Y2014M1D4  04-JAN-14                1 Y2014M1                        Y2014M1                                  31-JAN-14                   31 Y2014                          Y2014                                    31-DEC-14                365
    20140104060000                       Y2014M1D4  Y2014M1D4  04-JAN-14                1 Y2014M1                        Y2014M1                                  31-JAN-14                   31 Y2014                          Y2014                                    31-DEC-14                365
    I then created my TIME dimension with DAY as the lowest level.
    When I try the maintain cube option it fails at the 'LOAD NO SYNCH' step with the rejected records having an error message that says:
    ORA-35563: (XSRWLD17) Multiple values exist for an attribute of this dimension member.
    To me, this is a very cryptic message and the only explanation I find online is:
    Cause
    Multiple source table rows containing different values for a dimension attribute were found. Only the first of the multiple rows has been loaded.
    Action
    Fix the mapping or remove the rows with conflicting attribute values..
    This confuses me. In the tutorial the lowest level was day and the TIMES table contained 1 record for each day.
    In my example, the lowest level is hour and the TIMES table contains 1 record for each hour.
    Which attribute has multiple values? And which values?
    The rejected records (101) are not very clear:
    ALIAS_1 = 'MONTH_Y2014M1' AND ALIAS_3 = to_date('31JAN14') AND ALIAS_4 = 31 AND ALIAS_5 = 'Y2014M1' AND ALIAS_6 = 'Y2014M1' AND ALIAS_7 = 'YEAR_Y2014'
    If anyone can help point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

    I have seen this recently. The issue is with the dimension load itself.  You have a hour level record table but the rules relating to hierarchy/attribute values etc are checked/reinforced during the load and this error comes up sometimes.
    I would guess that the issue seems to be with your month level information present in the higher level month columns. There are many records corresponding to a single month in ur case, month of Y2014M1. Information relating to Month level member Jan 2014 or member MONTH_Y2014M1 is present in these records: 31 (days) *24 (hours) = 744 records. The data in these 744 records for columns - MONTH_ID, MONTH_NAME, MONTH_END_DATE, MONTH_TIME_SPAN need to be exactly the same in order for the single member MONTH_Y2014M1 to have month attributes loaded with valid values.
    For e.g: if records #1 to #743 contain month_timespan=31 but for some unknown reason record #744 contains month_timespan=30 then this error will come up. OLAP does not know which value to load (31 or 30), and only 1 value can be loaded onto the month level member corresponding to month Y2014M1.
    A quick check of the data should give you the answer. Typically there may be some mistake/invalid assumptions made with the boundary records (in your case, check for values for records corresponding to hour=0 or hour=23/24) which is causing the issue.

  • How to pass a multiple value parameter to SQL Command?

    Hi,
    I created a SQL Command with parameter.  But, I need the parameter to be set as multiple value.  After creating the SQL Command and it's parameter under the Database Expert, I went to Field Explorer --->  Parameter Fields and found the parameter that I had created for the SQL Command.  But when I wanted to edit the parameter to make it a multiple value parameter, the multiple value option was fix grayed as single parameter and I couldn't change it to multiple parameter.  Is there any way that I can set a parameter that is attached to SQL Command as multiple value rather than single value?  Thanks.
    Cheers,
    Al

    Al,
    That's a feature that, apparently, is only available in CR 2008.  If you are using CR 2008, use this link to see how to do it.

  • Determining uniqueness in a multiple value attribute

    Are matching rules used in determining whether or not two values in a multiple value attribute are duplicates?
    I have an attribute with EQUALITY caseExactMatch as a matching rule, but I can't add two values like:
    xxx/AAA
    XXX/AAA
    I would think that the matching rule would be applied and the two values would be determined to be unique.
    If matching rules are not applied when values are added, why not?
    Note: IBM corrected this problem in one of their releases.

    Sorry for the late response. It looks like this is possible without using a matching rule. In DSCC, create an attribute with type IA5String.
    $ ldapsearch -p 1111 -D 'cn=directory manager' -w password -b cn=schema -T cn=* | grep -wi csstring2
    attributeTypes: ( csstring2-oid NAME 'csstring2' DESC 'ia5string' SYNTAX 1.3.6.1.4.1.1466.115.121.1.26 X-ORIGIN 'user defined' )
    objectClasses: ( customoc-oid NAME 'customoc' DESC 'testing csstring and csstring2' SUP top STRUCTURAL MAY ( csstring2 $ csstring ) X-ORIGIN 'user defined' )
    $ ldapsearch -p 1111 -D 'cn=directory manager' -w password -b dc=sun,dc=com uid=a csstring2
    version: 1
    dn: uid=a,dc=sun,dc=com
    csstring2: AAAA
    csstring2: aaaa
    csstring2: AAAA/qqqqqqqqq
    csstring2: AAAA/qqqqqQqQq
