How to Offer High Res Image for Download

On a gallery site I would like to offer two or three high-res
images for people to download as a sample. The images are pretty
good with a lot of detail and it would enable viewers to see the
texture and other detail in the artists work. Can someone give me a
nudge to work out how to do it and are there any things to look out
for - especially security issues.

Zip the high-res images and link to them as you would to any
other file.

This is quite simple:
1.) Go to menu "File/Add files for upload"" and choose the highres image.
2.) Now place an element (image, rectangle or whatever you want) on your page.
3.) Select this element and use the "Hyperlinks" command in the upper command strip to link the element to the highres image you have selected in 1.)
Short way:
Place an element, select it and choose within the "hyperlinks" dropdown the entry "Link to file".

How to view high-res images in iPad 3?

I'm Korean and I like reading web comics on the web. Korean web comics (or as called here "webtoons") tend to have large images, and something like 500x12000 JPEG images are not uncommon. But as you know, Safari on iOS downsamples JPEG images larger than 2 MP (or 5 MP in iOS 6) and even 5 MP is not enough in this situation.
I tried several alternative ways to view large images in my iPad.
1. "Save Image" in Safari: it downloads the downsampled version of the image.
2. Other browsers (Chrome, Opera Mini, Terra, Mercury, Puffin, etc.): they all downsamples as well.
3. Copy the URL of the image, then download and view the image using GoodReader: downsampled
4. Download the image in PC, share it using Dropbox, view it in iPad using Dropbox app: downsampled (the worst quality ever)
I haven't tried the iPhoto for iOS yet since I don't want to pay for something that I'm uncertain whether it can solve my problem or not.
The image I've tried to view on iPad is http://file.thisisgame.com/upload/board/2012/08/30/20120830093812_9274.jpg, which is about 7.6 MP. Although the dimension of the image is huge, the size of the image is only about 3.9 MB. I don't understand why this image should be downsampled to be viewed on the new iPad, considering its computing power.
I wish to know whether iPhoto can help or there is any way to view large images in my iPad at all. Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide.

If you want Muse to "pass through" your images and not adjust, compress, crop etc - you need to place your images in the lightbox EXACTLY at the right size, pre-cropped and prepped in Photoshop.
So if your light box is 800x600 the image you're dropping into that must be 800x600 exactly with no effects, rotation etc added to the lightbox frame. This stop Muse fiddling with your images, if they are perfect when inserted and you're not asking Muse to crop, expand, add effects etc. If it's perfect when inserted, Muse SHOULD also leave the resolution alone too, but I have not tried that one, but in theory, it should work.

Since iWeb has been discontinued by Apple I'm skeptical if you'll get any help on how to hack the application in order to have larger images in the slideshow. Since MobileMe will be discontinued this June 30 and with it the galleries you might stat looking for an alternative.
One alternative that gives the user considerable latitude in image size and quality is Jalbum. It offers nearly 100 themes or skins. This demo page has one theme that lets you change skins on the fly: Jalbum Examples plus a couple of others.

they are doing this for a limited time only, I have created a couple of accounts.
after you create your account, it will have to be verified. after you check your email and verify the box, log back in and you will see it is only a 5gb account.
click on "my Account/upgrade" and choose the 50GB and you should see it say FREE under the cost.
then you can upload the full res pictures and share them that way.
otherwise, if you are within reach, try Bluetooth transfer.

I'd like to view high res images of subway maps on my iPhone as I used to on my BlackBerry. However, iTunes seems to pare down the resolution when syncing them, making them useless. Suggestions?

You may want to create a Facebook account, Flickr account, or any other photo account that there is an App for on the iPhone.
This may allow you to then upload your photos to their servers. View it on the App at a much higher quality.
Again not totally sure on this. But it might be something you can try out. Maybe our fellow posters have other suggestions.

In another thread I posted a suggestion to try when the iPhoto app in the Application folder will not work:
after upgrading the OS, iPhotos (and Aperture for that matter) should still be in the Applications folder...
And running well in 10.10.3.
If it stops running in a next "update" do not throw it away: most apps will continue running as follows:
In the Applications folder "rightclick" (CTL+click) the iPhoto app, then "show package contents", then click the MacOs folder open: you see the real app (dark grey), rightclick this and choose "make alias", an alias is made, move this alias to the Applications folder and use it to run iPhoto.
Same for Aperture.
In older OS this survived several upgrades....

There is no automatic way to do this because any purchases made with your account are assumed to be authorized by you. If this involved account hacking you can report it to iTunes Store but purchases made with a credit card should be reported to the card fraud department.

How can I upload a hi res image for a client?

I'm an illustrator who often needs to upload high resolution images onto a server. I used to put them in to my .mac Pictures folder, publish a link and send that to my clients. I now have a 3G iPhone and hoped there would be a way to do a similar thing in conjunction with my laptop, but so far I've only managed to come up with a partial solution. Here's what I've come up with so far.
First I create a client named Web Gallery in iPhoto ( + password protect it) I can then create a work album and sync that to my iPhone. Pretty much all of my images are for print so are CMYK, so far so good as iPhoto supports CMYK as well as RGB.
From my iPhone I can publish the picture to my clients Web Gallery. The CMYK images look pretty terrible on the site, but I can live with that, but when the image then gets downloaded it's discovered that somewhere along the line the image has been turned into an RGB jpg, which is next to useless.
So close and yet so far..
So my question is, how can I get this to work, it would be very useful.

Ha.ve you considered using FileMagnet? This might not be what you have in mind, but it does allow upload and download of arbitrary files.
Thanks L La Pointe, Filemagnet looks great, but it's my understanding that it only copies files to your iPhone and once there can't send them anywhere else. It's halfway there, but like other solutions so close and yet so far. Maybe it's all just a bit early and we all just have to wait a bit

You can't just use the FBI version wthout permission and those dudes are the wrong people to mess with.
Now, you could just do a copypasta of the regular warning which can be found [here|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVDConsumerRights] into Photoshop and make it whatever res you want.

I know how to export still images using Quicktime Conversion. But it is possible to export High Resolution images from my FCP Project. You help would be much appreciated

Wow man, that's not the most efficient way to get stills. You can do this in FCP, it's easy. Here is what you do....
Go to EXPORT and then USING QUICKTIME CONVERSION
You will see a dropdown box in the right corner that says FILE FORMAT. Change that to STILL IMAGE.
Underneath you can choose which type of still Image you would like to convert the frame to (JPEG, PIC, PSD, etc) You can also change the quality
