How to pass the security context between different OC4J servers

My problem is the following: it seems that there is no standard J2EE solution in a production environment with more than one J2EE application server products to pass the security context between different J2EE application servers.
I have a distributed application on two different OC4J servers, let's say that we have the web layer (with servlets) deployed on a server instance Server1 and the EJBs deployed on a second OC4J server Server2. If an user is authenticated at the web tier (in Server1) it gets a Principal object. It seems that the same Principal object cannot be used for authorization in the second application server, Server2. This means that in the server Server2 the authentication should be done again. It means that it should be duplicated the mechanism for authentication on Server2 (together with the passwords, users, and so on), thing that is a clear disadvantage of this approach.
Do you know if there is a specific OC4J solution for this approach?

I have two applications(ADF faces + BC, JDev 10.1.3.1) deployed into OAS 10.1.3.1.
The two applications are :
1) SalesApp -> main menu page = SalesMenu.jspx
2) ReportApp -> main menu page = ReportMenu.jspx
I want implement security using CustomLogin.
The question is :
How can I share security context between the applications ?
What I mean is, from SalesMenu.jspx there is one menu item to jump into ReportMenu.jspx, and I want user no need to Login again, Login is once and the user is recognized in the two apps. How to achieve that ?

actually you can't if these are separate J2EE application deployments. The session is not shared and thus the authentication is lost. I heard that OracleAs is planning to implement a feature that allows you to share the session and thus a context between two J2EE deployments. I am not 100 % sure this is the case and will check with OC4J Product Management

How to know the database changes between different releases

Where can I get the information of database changes, like for example new columns new tables, etc, between different releases?
My goal to try to determine the current version, or is there a better way?

You will then have an option to take JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or JD Edwards World. On the next screen, you can select the tab Compare Releases. This will allow you to enter the release that you are currently on and enter the latest GA release of software. Can we pass J2EE security context to a xdp form?

I am doing a J2ee application developement that a user will logon to the application and open the form,fill it and press submit button to call a web service. The form submit button is pointing to a web service that needs security authentication such as:

SSO with AD error:An error has occurred propagating the security context...

Hi.
On Windows 2003, I have installed BOXI Edge 3.1 with SAP Integration Kit. My primary and only use of the SAPIK will be for retrieving SAP data for BOXI reports. I DO NOT want to use SAP Authentication. For BOXI, I want to set up only AD Authentication, but because the web.xml files change with the installation of the SAPIK, I have not been successful at setting up AD Authentication. I have modified the web.xml files so that they look like the original web.xml files (without SAPIK).
The AD groups are imported successfully into BOXI. The members of those groups are imported successfully, too. But when a user attempts to login, they get error: An error has occurred propagating the security context between the security server and the client.
I have tried nearly everything to clear this error and there are no Kerberos errors in Wireshark logs on the BOXI server.

The problem is resolved.
I noticed in the Local Security Policy that the right "Log on as a service" displayed only the service account user ID, without the domain identifier - where I expected it to show as "DOMAIN\svcaccount", it only showed "svaccount".
I stopped the Tomcat and SIA services, I removed "svaccount" from the list in "Log on as a service", I reset the account information in the Tomcat and SIA services as "DOMAIN\svcaccount" and saw that change reflected in "Log on as a service" and now AD Authentication works beautifully.
My guess is that it must have been using the local account and not the domain account for running the services.
Next task: SSO...

Create a function group.
Define global data (there is a similiar menu point to jump to the top include).
Create one or two function modules, with which you can read and write the global data.
In your BADI methods you can access the global data with help of your function modules. It will stay in memory through the whole transaction.

How to pass the data from a input table to RFC data service?

Hi,
I am doing a prototype with VC, I'm wondering how VC pass the data from a table view to a backend data service? For example, I have one RFC in the backend system with a tabel type importing parameter, now I want to pass all the data from an input table view to the RFC, I guess it's possible but I don't know how to do it.
I try to create some events between the input table and data service, but seems there is no a system event can export the whole table to the backend data service.

Thanks for your answer, I tried the solution 2, I create "Submit" button, and ser the mapping scope to be "All data rows", it only works when I select at least one row, otherwise the data would not be passed.
Another question is I have serveral imported table parameter, for each table I have one "submit" event, I want these tables to be submitted at the same time, but if I click the submit button in one table toolbar, I can only submit the table data which has a submit button clicked, for other tables, the data is not passed, how can I achieve it?

If i click GO button on search page then it pass the selected Poplists values as a Bound values to VO Sql query at runtime after this I store the search results in a Table(Which is created by using New Region Wizard).
I want to pass the Bind parameter values to VO SQL query during runtime and :1,:2,:3,:4,:5,:6,:7 values are coming from Poplists.
I search through forum I found many threads regarding Bind Values but those all are passing ID's only not String(Varchar) values.
How to pass the Character values to VO Query.
Please anyone help me on this.

Hi Siva,
I could be mistaken, but I do not think you can reference two views via URL.
The proper way to achieve what you asking is to use the Compound View object. The compound view acts like a wrapper to multiple views. And the best part about it is that you can have as many compound views you want in the same Answer request. By default, all requests start out as a compound view that has a title view and a table view. However, if you click the "Duplicate, specialize or delete current view" button, you can add a "New" compound view. That way a single Request can have many different layouts. Then when you want to reference a particular layout, you reference that particular compound view.
So in your situation, assuming you create a new compound view to store your layout, you can reformat your code as follows:

How to pass the Project Information to Receivables

Currently we are using Projects as one of the segments in the Chart of Accounts.
We are planning to use Oracle Quoting for raising the quotes. The quote will be for different jobs.
Example : we are having quote q1 contains 2 jobs namely j1 and j2.
The j1 is belong to Project P1 and j2 belong to Project P2. We want to pass Project P1 to Receivables using Order Managment, similar for Project P2 also.
Basically we want to know how to pass the different Projects(in Project Accounting) to Receivables from Order Management.
Can you Please give some thoughts about this, your feedback would be much appreciated.

If your have created two different items for each job, you can maintain the project segment value in that item master's sales account and COGS account. ANd in the autoaccounting setup point this segment to take from item so that the line will take the segment value from item for the revenue account.
This is rigid as you have may have to create as may items as the combination of job and project. If you have luxury to extend, you can open up a DFF against the line and for every job you can capture project number. This flows to OM hence into into Invoice interface. Use that in your autoinvoice preprocessor(extension) to populate the ra_interface_distributions_all with your revenue account.
Assuming that you have no project implmented (that is why project is in COA).

An impersonation error occurred using the security context of the current user. -- Report server is on remote server and file share folder is on local server

I have deployed a report on the server (e.g. remoteserver\reports) from my local machine. I opened the report in browser in my local machine and created a new subscription with windows file share delivery option.
But its giving an error "Failure writing file \\localserver\subscriptions\Report1.xls : An impersonation error occurred using the security context of the current user." Here "subscriptions"
is the folder which I have created in my local machine.
I followed the instructions found in the link "http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms157386.aspx"

I am the one who created the folder and subscribing the report, so probably I have the full write permissions to the shared folder. What is the service account in this context?
I think the problem is, I am deploying the report on the server and creating the shared folder in the local machine. I tried giving shared folder permissions to the user on the server. But my local machine is in local domain and I cant access the users on
the remote server. Do I need to create a shared folder on the server? I am new to SSRS. Please help me.
PS: I have assigned with all roles viz. Browser, Content Manager, Publisher, Report Builder etc. and My Role name (WEBSERVER\User)
is different from my local user name (domain\username) in domain.

Hi... i don't know how to pass the parameter of the stored procedure to the iReport.
In the Report Query, i tried
1. sp_storedprocedure ' value'

3. sp_storedprocedure +$V+$P{parameter}++$F($F is a variable having a value of ' (a single quote))may you enlighten us please? thank you

For M$ SQL server I find that it only works when U use the fully qualified name...
e.g. catalod.dbo.my_procedure_name 'variable'
My full query in the Report Query window is something like this:
EXEC arc.dbo.jasper_Invoice 1000
Note that you may find that selecting from VIEWS / TABLES fails for no apparent reason and iReport will prompt you with the usual very unhelpful (we have what we "pay" for) prompt, stating that "The document is empty".
To work around this issue, where a statement like "SELECT * FROM arc.dbo.acc_invoices WHERE Invoice_id=1000" does not work, simply create a PROC, something like:
CREATE PROC jasper_MyProc (@my_rec_id integer) AS
SELECT * FROM arc.dbo.acc_invoices WHERE Invoice_id= @my_rec_id integer
...to wrap your SELECT statement, then call the PROC

Hello,
first you have to configure your Portal and your BO Server correct that you can view Reports out of the Portal. Check the Installation Guide for the SAP integration Kit on How to do that.
Than you could use an openDoc URL which is an URL where you call your Report with your Parameters directly. After creating this URL you could create an iView with this URL and deploy it in your Portal. Use this second Guide on How to create this URLs
