How to play 1280p video (.mkv) in ipad

i copied a 1280p .mkv file from itunes to ipad. The video player in ipad could not play it. I installed oplayerhd lite. But I couldn't figure out how to play it.

If your 3rd party player will play this file type, you load the video directly into the app's file library using the iTunes app on your computer.
1. Connect the iPad to the computer
2. Open iTunes on the computer
3. Choose the iPad in the Devices list
4. Choose the Apps pane
5. Scroll down to File Sharing
6. Choose your 3rd party video app in the list
7. Click the Add button and then browse to where the video is stored on your computer
8. Click Open and the file will be transfered to the iPad
You should now find that the video is in the video app's library.

AVI is a Windows file. You will need a .mov copy. You could also check for apps that play AVI files

I'm asking because I have an iPhone 5 with a large LTE data plan, which I don't mind using a bit more data for better clearity on the videos. Did you use iAD to create the widget? If you did... then there support group should have answers.
If you used one of the widgets in iBA - as you have had no suggestion for a fix... you will need to contact iBooks support.

Plug in to Mac, open iPhoto and import the video. From iPhoto you can then export it to another folder via Export.

What sort of videos are they, and what app do you want to sync them to ? If they were taken with your camera and they are in a format supported by the iPad, then you could sync them to the Photos app - with the iPad connected and selected on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, you can use the Photos tab on the right-hand side of iTunes to sync photos and videos (there is an 'include videos' tickbox on that tab) to the Photos app.
Or you can sync them to the Videos app. If you can add them to your iTunes library (File > Add To Library) you can then use Movies tab (instead of the Photos tab) to sync them to the Videos app. If you can add them to your library but they don't sync over because they aren't in a supported format then try doing Advanced > Create iPad Version and then try syncing those versions.
