How to populate a table column with marked text?

I hate searching and typing so I was just wondering if there was a solution to the following problem.
I have a document that contains 5-character defect codes in the body of the text (in numbered steps). At the end of the document I have a table which summarizes these codes: the codes make up one column and the other columns contain information related to these codes (page number, area, actions to be taken, criteria for defect etc.).
Is there a way for me to mark the codes such that I could import all of them into the defect code column?
I was leaning towards generating a list of some kind and then pasting it in the column but I can't seem to paste my generated list into multiple cells. FM will only allow me to paste the whole list in one cell. Am I using the wrong approach or maybe missing a step in between?

FYI, I couldn't use cross-reference markers because the defect code (according to the style guide.) is written at the end of the instruction, on the same line without a hard return. Cross referencing brought in all the text in that paragraph if I used a <paratext> building block to define my cross-reference format. I lack the knowledge to create a cross-reference format that would just give me the last five characters of the paragraph. These tables tend to be long and even if I could do that, for each row, I would have to click about seven or eight times per entry

    Only problem is as the column headings are big for some columns, they are getting truncated which you can always change by changing the column width in declaration

    Now I use the stage table to load the setup&transaction collection data from a non-EBS legacy system to ASCP system.
    My question is: how to populate the organization_code column in the stage table？If the source system is EBS system, maybe it's an inventory organization code. But for the non-EBS system, which value is need fo this field? keep it as blank? or assign some value for it?

    I find some words in the implementation guide, it says:"To collect data from your non-Oracle ERP systems or your trading partners' systems,you model each non-Oracle ERP system or trading partner as an Oracle Applications organization and store their setup and transaction data there".
    But I can't find where to model the application organization for the legacy system.

    So, as you can see from the LOAD WHEN clause, I'd like to reject rows when C1, C2 and C3 are empty.
    The above statement works fine and creates the table. However when I am trying to load data using it, the following error is produced:

    Another method would be to simply remove the "LOAD WHEN condition" and create a view on the external table which filters the data.

    If you want to use a table control, you will need to create a screen.
    In your report....
    start-of-selection.
    perform get_data.  " Get all your data here
    call screen 100. " Now present to the user.
    Double click on the "100" in your call screen statement.  This will forward navigate you to the screen.  If you have not created it yet, it will ask you if you want to create it, say yes.  Go into screen painter or layout of the screen.  Use the table control wizard to help you along the process.  It will write the code for you.  Since it is an output only table control, it will be really easy with not a lot of code. 
    A better way to present the data to the user would be to give it in a ALV grid.  If you want to go that way, it is a lot easier.  Here is a sample of the ALV function module.  You don't even have to create a screen.

    I understand your requirement and the tutorial doesn't talk about Association between the views so that you can create a Master-Detail or in DB parlance, a Parent-Child relationship.
    I will assume that we are dealing with two entities here: Department and Employees where a particular Department has many Employees and hence a Parent-Child relationship.
    Firstly, you need to create an Association between the two Entities - Department and Employees. You can do that by right clicking on the model's entity and then associating the two entities with the appropriate key say, DepartmentId.
    Once you have done that, you need to link the two entities in the View section with this Association that you created. Then go to AppModule and make sure that in the Available View Objects: 'EmployeesView' appears under 'DepartmentView' as "EmployeesView via <link you created>". Shuttle the 'DepartmentView' to the right, Data Model and then shuttle
    "EmployeesView via <link you created>" to the right, Data Model under 'DepartmentView'.
    This will then be reflected in your Data Controls. After that, you simply would have to drag this View into your page as a Master-Detail form...and then when you run this page, any row selected in the Master table, would display the data in the Detail table.

    Is it possible to add new columns with format "Text" once a table is linked to a form in Numbers for iPhone or is it impossible and thus a serious bug?(Rating stars and numeric vales seem to work.)
    Those bugs happen both for new speadsheets as well as existing onces, like the demo. When you are in the form only the numeric keyboard shows up.
    Pat from the Apple Store Rosenstrasse/Germany approved that it looks like a Bug during the Numbers Workshop I was in: It is not possible to add new columns with format "Text". I reported the error for Version 1.4 but there is no update nor do I get statement of understanding the issue.

    I see what you are talking about now. Without knowing how the program actually works, I think this is what's going on:
    When you add a new column to an already existing table (with already existing formats), the new cells come already formatted like the previous column. So when you add a column to the end of the demo table, the cells are already formatted like stars, and when you add a column to the beginning, they're already formatted like number.
    I think this is why it's different when if you add columns to a table with blank (unformatted) columns. In that case, the new cells aren't already "tainted" with a set format, so you can change to text format without issue.
    It seems like the problem is that you can't format cells that are already formatted as "number" as "text" format (even if it doesn't look like they are, because they are blank). IMO, this is a bug! This is why you don't see this issue when adding columns to a new table, because the new cells don't already come with a format.
    To workaround, you can highlight the body cells after adding the new column, and delete the cells. This will "clear" the formatting, so you can then go in the inspector, format them as text, and the correct keyboard will pop up.

    My requirement is to upload a file(pdf,doc,jpg, txt) into DB using ADF.
    I use, Jdev 11.1.1.6, Oracle 10g XE.
    For this, I created the following
    1. A table as MyFilesTab(ID Number, FileName Varchar2(80), File BLOB)
    2. An Entity Object MyFilesEO on MyFilesTab.
    3. Generated a default view object: MyFilesVO
    4. Application Module : TestAM with view instance "MyFiles"
    But When I run TestAM, I see MyFiles as an Input textbox. So I cannot able to add a file that will be stored in my Table.
    Please help me out.

  • Move Table Column with AppleScript in Microsoft Word

    Microsoft Word has a flaw (in my opinion) with tables in that it aligns the left and right text with the margins rather than aligning the table columns with the margins. This results in sloppy tables, because the left and right borderlines lie outside the margins.
    I would like to fix the word tables by
    calculating the left cell padding and right cell padding in points and setting them to variables {left_pad,right_pad} respectively
    move left column by left_pad to the right
    move right column by right_pad to the left

    Not possible. SQL is used to populate tables - it is the language that interacts (CRUD) Oracle data in tables. Not PL/SQL.
    So even when using PL/SQL, you still need to use SQL. Thus "populating" a table is no different than using SQL or using SQL (from inside PL/SQL).

    If you do not want to specify it as hard code, then define a variable for it if you want to pass the value for it from the selection screen so that it will be dynamic. Code will be as follows.
    select-options: x_KSCHL for T685l-KSCHL.
    select kwert
               kbetr
               knumv
               kposn
               kschl
          from konv
          into CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_konv
          FOR ALL ENTRIES IN it_all
          where knumv = it_all-knumv
          and   kposn = it_all-b_posnr
          and   kschl in x_KSCHL. "Dynamic Selection as per the selection screen input
      endif.

    we used sum u can use ny function if wont u have to give the column name i.e col2 name also
    so i think u got it nw
