How to populate f4 values to standard pnp selection screen fields

Hi Experts,
my question is how to populate f4 values to standard pnp selection screen field. i am using LDB PNP for a report , it displays several fields with f4 values, i need to remove all the stadard f4 values and want to place my f4 values in the selection screen

To put ur own values in the F4 help of any field...all u have to do is.
1st fetch all the records that u need to display in F4 help list...in one internal table.
and then use the function module 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'
call function 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'
exporting
retfield =
value_org =
tables
value_tab =
return_tab =
exceptions
parameter_error = 1
no_values_found = 2
others = 3.
where retfield is the field for which u need to give the F4 help.
and valu_tab is the internal table in which u have the list of records to be displayed.
this would do the work...
I dont have the system in front of me...as soon as i have...will try to send a piece of code, to make ur work easy.

How to link a search help to a selection screen field

I am using field PKWRG from PA0017 table in selection screen. I need F4 help there as in Tcode PA30 . But this field does not have value table or check table. However, it has a search help attached 'TRV_PKWRG' .
But, I donot know how to assign a search help to a selection screen field. Please help.

Fetch all the data which from the table which you want to show in the search help and pass the value to the FM

Standard PNP selection screen problem in reason for action type

Hi all,
We have used standard PNP in one of our report program.
The input for 'Reason for Action' (excluding a particular reason for action ) has no effect on the actual selection of data from the PNP. i.e. even if a particular reason for action is excluded in the selection, record pertaining to that action for reason is still picked in the PNP selection and passed on to the program through Get PERNR statement.
The above problem seems to affect all the standard and custom HR Reports as well.
Please advise on how exactly the excluding of a particular reason for action work in selection through PNP and is there anyway to solve the problem.

MSS report not passing values from portal to selection screen fields

Hello Gurus,
We have a problem with Sickness Absences report in MSS which is a Z copy of the standard report RPTABS20.
The problem is when the manager defines the selection criteria and selects the other period dates and under Organizational View - selects All Organizational Units and highlights one org unit and report results, then the report displays the employees which are currently not part of same org unit as selected in selection criteria. But these employees were present in this org unit in past when they took leave, which comes under the same period as given on selection screen. So in a way it seems to be right. But the requirement is to only display the employees which are currently present in this org unit.
The report seems to be working fine in backend where we specified the same date range and org unit on selection screen.
On our investigation in portal we came to know that the org unit field on selection screen PNPORGEH is not getting filled with org unit number selected on portal.
On further investigation in debugging we came across the fm HRWPC_RPT_START_REPORT which calls fm HRWPC_RPT_FCODE_EXEC which in turn calls fm HR_HIS_EXECUTE and it executes the report with following code:
    SUBMIT (repos-repid) AND RETURN
           USING SELECTION-SET repos-varit
           WITH pnpindex IN objid_ranges
           WITH pnptimed eq ' '
           WITH pnpbegps eq act_begda
           WITH pnpendps eq act_endda
           WITH pnpbegda eq act_begda
           WITH pnpendda eq act_endda
           WITH p_super eq space.
Looks like the standard code is not passing the org unit to the selection screen of the report.
Request you to kindly guide if this is a SAP standard problem or the report is not configured properly ?

Hi,
You can either create trasaction variants with Default values and then create transaction suing these Variant transaction and use this transaction instead of irignal transaction.
SHDS-> to create Variant transaction
SE93-> to create transaction of this Variant Transaction.
or you can also use SAP memory statements like GET and SET PARAMETERS to set one value in one internal session and get that in another session in an External session.

How to populate the values based on different selections in Dashboard Promp

Hi,
I have a group prompt, which has 2 drop downs. The DropDown1 decides the values of DropDown2.
I have used a SQL query in the "Show" values which will populate the dropdowns.
When a value is 'selected" from DropDown1, the selected value decided the values of DropDown2 which is again a SQL query.
But I see that when a new value is selected from DropDown1, the values in DropDown2 will not change until I click on GO.Even after clicking GO, the previously selcted value is retained.
As an illustration:
animals,plants are the choices in the first drop down, which if, animal is selected would populate the dropdown2 with cow,sheep, tiger.
Assume animal is selected. The second drop down now is populated with cow,sheep and tiger. Assume you chose sheep.This resulted in display of sheep related info on the BI page.
Now if I go back to the first dropdown and select plants, I would expect the second drop down to be populated with fig, palm, coconut.
However in my case I see only the proviously popluated animals in the DropDown2.
If I click on Go, I see that the DropDown2 is populated with Sheep,,fig, palm, coconut. Ideally I should not have seen the prevously selected value in DropDown2.
Here there are 2 problems stated for a group promt having 2 DropDowns where item chosen from one decides the values of the other dropdown
1. On selecting an item from DropDown1, is not populating with the corresponding values in DropDown2
2. When 'Go' is clicked, DropDown2 is populated with the corresponding values for DropDown1 + the previously selected value in DropDown2 is retained.
Any input to get out of this problem will help

I am using group prompt and has 4 drop downs.
Value of one decides the other. Values for the dropdowns will be populated by SQL results.
'Constrain' will not be available for sql results..
How to go about this?

getCurrentRow() would always return null if no setCurrentRow() is used.
Please check the page design and understand how many rows of VO are there. You can also use the following to get the row:
vo.reset();
vo.next();

To default fields, you need to do the following steps :
1. Create a Z module e.g. : Z_DEFAULT_FIELDS_DIALOG.
2. Enter suppose you want to default fiels Name, title, country, write code as follows :
DATA : ls_busdefault LIKE busdefault.
ls_busdefault-title = '0002'.
ls_busdefault-mc_name1 = 'TEST'.
ls_busdefault-mc_name2 = 'Default'.
ls_busdefault-country = 'IN'.
    CALL FUNCTION 'BUP_BUPA_FIELDVALUES_SET'
    EXPORTING
      i_busdefault = ls_busdefalut.
3. Now got to transaction BUS7, select event ISDAT, click on Event--> function modules.
4. Register your Z module Z_DEFAULT_FIELDS_DIALOG in this list, Save.
This should solve your problem. Please note : You can only default those fields contained in structure BUSDEFAULT.

Dear Freinds,
         When you use the PNP selection screen , i dont find the Orgeh field in default selection screen .
However , using the code at selection screen output i have closed certain feilds using the loop at screen,
but when iam trying in similar way to show the field
on the selection what is the code i have to use
in the loop at screen...........especially for the field
orgeh .
i have tried the othere options like required.........this working when iam able to make the date fields mandatory, similary i want to try with the below
code to get the field Orgeh on the selection as default feild when we execute the report.

Hi Madhuri,
Unless you dont declare the orgeh field in hr report category you cannot show it on the selection screen nor you can hide it.
If you do not want to use hr report cateogry.
What you can do is that declare a parameter or selection screen called p_orgeh type orgeh.
Here you can do the hiding on conditions.
Kindly note here that after get pernr you will have to put a check that
check p0001-orgeh in p_orgeh.
Because for the fields declared by you automatic filtering does not happen.

Can we modify the pnp selection screen and get only month and year?

              I have requirement where i have to modify the PNP selection screen. So with the help of report category and coding in AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT , i have modified all the fields relating to dates . i.e i have removed all the radio buttons (i.e Today, Current month,current year etc) and finally
i have landed with only Period ( PNPBEGDA & PNPENDDA range) . But i dont want the PNPBEGDA & PNPENDDA range , but i want only is the month and year ( i.e just like the PNPPABRP & PNPPABRJ)
on my selection screen along with the pernr .
i have used the below code to close all the fields except pnpbegda and pnpendda.

   The requirement is that the user doesnt want to enter the date range i.e for ex: 01012008 to 31012008.
As per the requirement the user will enter only the month and year only . so i on the selection screen
i want only the month and year only . Is there any means i can modify the date period which is there by
default (PNPbegda and PNPendda) on PNP selection screen. Instead of we givign to the user the
PNPBEGDA and PNPPENDA i want is only month and year .
AS already the code has already been written and now they have asked that they want only the month and year on the selection screen.
Please suggest me in this regard.If iam hiding all the buttons relating the dates fields, and now if iam adding the parameters for the month and year it is coming below below the fields pernr , personnel ara and subara , company code , payroll area, employee group of the standard fields of PNP selection screen , there by any body could please suggest me how to change.

Passing values to a dynamic selection screen via a report

I have the following problem and need to seek your expertise urgently.
In my program, I need to call another report by passing in parameters to the selection screen of other report. However, I could not pass values into a dynamic selection screen. I tried to use submit (report) with free selection but do not know how it works.
Currently, I tried calling the function RS_REFRESH_FROM_DYNAMICAL_SEL and FREE_SELECTIONS_RANGE_2_EX. Using the object the first function has returned to me, I tried to append values such as fieldname etc to it. However, I realised the field names of a dynamic selection screen keeps changing. So I would not know how to pass a particular value to a selection field.
Appreciate any help given.

Hello CK,
Are you using logical database in your selection screen program attributes? If it is, look at include file DBxxxSEL for parameter named xxxDYNSE where xxx = logical database. Debug the program that has that dynamic selection, and look at field xxxDYNSE. This should give you a hint on how to populate the parameter when you submit the program.
