How to prevent from trying to iMessage an ex-iPhone user

Hi,
I have an AT&T line that used to be with an iPhone, and since I switched this line\number to an Android device, all my iPhone contacts having issues when trying to text me.
Their phones are always trying to iMessage me, and fail to do that, than they need to manually cancel and "send as text message" and it switch the conversation to text messages until the next time they trying to contact me.
There do you think is the issue? somewhere on my end or on their ends? and what can we do to prevent their phones from trying to iMessage me? (so it will send Text Messages automatically).
I can't ask them all to delete my contact and create it again, it will be kind of weird and rude... :\

It is on your end. You need to deactivate iMessage. Go into your support profile on Apple, log in with your Apple ID and remove that device from your support profile. You may also have to contact Express Lane Support to get the number removed from the iMessage database. Your support profile is here: https://supportprofile.apple.com. Log in with your Apple ID. If theiPOd using the same Messaging email address as the common APple ID, try adding another Messaging email address (Setting>Messages>Receive At) and delete the Apple ID as the calling address.

The scripts above seems to work as intended with no errors and do indeed stop my five XE services. I created the second script to start them and they do indeed start and are listed as "Started" in the Services panel aferwards.
My XE installation has the 5 services set up to start automatically.
I was happy to find the script above because I did not know the starting order and using the XE shortcuts for "Stop Database" and "Start Database" just seemed to cause sqlplus to receive ORA-12514 "listener does not currently know of service..." after trying to use them to restart the database. Using the scripts above seems to leave me with a different error.
I am pretty sure I eliminated my 9i listener and it is no longer listed in my Services panel or the registry.
Restarting the laptop does start the services correctly, and now I am on to a more pressing JDBC error, so if I get a chance to use the script again, I will post my results. Thanks.

Iphone trying to send iMessages to non iphone users - HELP!

My friend just switched from Verizon to Sprint. He has NEVER had an iphone. He currently has some type of galaxy or android. As of last night all of my texts to him are being sent as iMessages (which he obviously doesn't receive). He's had the phone for two weeks and up until yesterday we were able to text via SMS with no issues. I still get his texts - he gets nothing from me and it only shows on my phone as going through as an iMessage. I've tried deleting his contact and adding it again. It still shows up blue in my contacts as if it's an iphone (which it obviously is not). I know I can turn off my iMessage on my phone but I like using it because the majority of my friends and family have iPhones. Is there any way to fix this??

I am having the same issue in the US.
I had a 3GS and switched to an Android based phone. My wife now has a 4s and all messages from her were going to my old iPhone instead of my new phone. My old phone does not have service, but still works well on wifi. My messages would send fine, and I could send and receive from non-iPhone users without issue. I then tried sending to an iPhone 4, and once again got an iMessage back on my old phone from that person.
Fix:
I pulled the SIM card from my new phone, had the iPhone users delete and re-enter contact info for me. The first time they send a message to me it goes out as an iMessage, but then re-sends about 5 minutes later as a regular text. Once the thread has started, it goes back and forth without issue. If they delete the thread off their iPhones, the process starts over again and the first one takes about 5 minutes to resend as a regular text.
I know iPhones with iOS 5 will always send as an iMessage first if that is enabled (and why wouldn't it, it's a great feature) but it needs to go to Apple's servers first, then resent as a non-iMessage.
I am not sure if others are experiencing delays in first run text messages to others and think the delay is teh network, when it may the iMessage function. I would like to see some feedback from others if they are seeing delays?

Apple will never reveal that info to you, since you were not the originally purchaser. However, you can get the date of sale by entering the SN here:

Warranty starts on the date of sale, which is most likely the date of activation, but not necessarily so.

i sent imessage to another iphone user who shares his apple ID with his wife, who also has iphone. Apparently, when I send imessage to him, his wife also receives same imessage that i sent to him. Anybody has any idea? would love to hear feed back thanks!

In his wife's phone go to Settings>Messages> and have her delete your friend's Apple ID/ phone number from the send and receive section

I have found that if I am trying to send an imessage to another Iphone user who has not upgraded to ios7, the messages will appear in my history as "sending". I deleted that contact history and tried to send another text and it worked as it was sending as a "green message" rather than a "blue message". Is there a way to work around this?

Thanks for the answer. Disabling iMessage does work, but it's a bit clunky to have to do that every time I want to message him. Many of my other contacts have iPhones and I like the iMessage feature.
He's had the same number for years and I only recently have had this issue, he doesn't have iMessage on any device, he only has an iPod nano. I wonder what happened that all of a sudden it has defaulted to iMessage for him.
Any other ideas?

Send a message from the 3GS to the 4S... once sent, tape the bubble and an option should be prompted to send as iMessage... give that a try and see if it forces things back over.
Also, confirm the contact settings are accurrate.

You can have a separate AppleID only for iMessage and keep using the other one for iTunes.
Just change the AppleID used for iMessage in Settings > Messages > Receive At

Sorry. This doesn't make a lot of sense. Each iPhone user should have their own cloud accounts with which to sync contacts.
The iPhone is not a multi-user device.

Hey! So I'm having a problem with sending an IMessage to another iPhone user and they are having the same problem. The problem is; is that I send a message to them it will attempt to send then will say under the message that it was not delivered? So I send it as a normal text message. Weird part is that we both have full service and have the phone bills paid. Lol

There is an earlier thread that was answered by an Apple employee that states they are seeing the iMessage and Facetime servers are down. It is unknown when they will return, however it generally is not an extended period of time.

Welcome to our family. We want you to be able to enjoy all the services we provide and we definitely need to address this. Do you receive/make calls without problems? Are you able to receive messages with your contacts' number? Are you using iMessages? If so, go to Settings>Messages>Send&Receive>only your phone number should be enabled.
