How to programmatically set the Visibility of an Iview INVISIBLE ?

Hi ..... I need to programmatically set the visibility of an IView for a user Invisible - In order to achieve that , I am trying the below code....But getting errors-
Code -
Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"com.sapportals.portal.pcd.gl.PcdInitialContextFactory");
             env.put("com.sap.portal.jndi.requested_aspect","com.sap.portal.pcd.gl.PersistencyAspect");
env.put("java.naming.factory.object", "__IPcdContext__");
InitialContext iCtx = null;
String iViewID = "pcd:portal_content/ABC/1Portal/mywork/iviews/XYA_iViews/adf.ivw_ess_jspdynpage";
             iCtx = new InitialContext(env);
             IiView result =(IiView)iCtx.lookup(iViewID);
             IiViews iViewSrv = (IiViews)PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService(IiViews.KEY);
INewObjectDescriptor IVtoCreate =(INewObjectDescriptor) iViewSrv.instantiateDescriptor(CreateMethod.NEW,"par:/applications/com.sap.km.cm/components/navigation",request.getUser());
IVtoCreate.putAttribute("com.sap.portal.navigation.invisible", true);
the above method putAttribute is not apllicablt for (String,Boolean)\
Please suggest as to how can I programmatically set an Iview Visible/Invisible .

I think the property is com.sap.portal.navigation.Invisible with a capital I for invisible...
This blog has an example: Hiding portal role content with a simple iView

  • Looking for a way to programmatically set the visible portion of the front panel when a subVI opens

    I am looking for a way to programmatically set the visible portion of the front panel when a subVI opens.  Haven't found any posts that relate, but I'm not sure how to ask the right question.  To be clear, I want to write a helper VI to go through a list of subVIs to make sure the background images are all in the same place when their respective subVIs open.  I hate manually playing with scroll bars before I save each of the VIs...  I'm figuring I need to find the top/left location of the background image (know how to do this already) and then set a VI FP property to  these values or some offset, but I can't find the relevant property. FP:run-timeposition:custom looked promissing, but only affects the location of the window, not the area of the front panel the window is displaying.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Cool.  Getting closer.  The way I implemented your suggestion affects the subVI only if it is open.  I can use this to do what I'm after, perhaps putting the code into each subVI.  Maybe open all subs, run the helper, and save.    Seems like I'm missing the elegant version...

  • How to programmatically set the real-time CVI startup DLL?

    Dear NI Support Engineer:
    I'm part of a team of software engineers working on a real-time aerospace app at Honeywell (Coon Rapids, MN campus).  We're using LabWindows/CVI 9.0 and three LabView 8.6 real-time modules.
    Up until now, we've been using the CVI debugger to launch our real-time apps or just copying the app DLL to C:\ni-rt\cvi on the real-time box and setting it as the default startup DLL.
    What we need to do now is create our own directory structure at the root of C: on the real-time box (which, by the way, is using the Reliant file system).
    In fact, we have created directory ug7500 at the root of C: on the realtime box, and two subdirectories (one for data and one for results) directly under directory ug7500.  We'd like to place all of our app DLLs in the ug7500 directory and have the ability to change the default startup DLL programmatically.
    We've been using your LabWindows/CVI Real-time File Copy Utility to set the startup DLL whenever we're not using the debugger.  That was just fine for the first stage of our development.
    At this stage, however, we need be able to set the startup DLL programmatically.  We have not been able to find out how to do this from reading the real-time module documentation.
    Can you either point us at some documentation on programmatically setting the default startup DLL, or e-mail us the instructions, or give us a phone call and explain what steps we must take.
    Thank you very much.

    Hello All,
    For the reference of anyone else trying to do this, you can modify the INI file to change the startup DLL. Using the INI instrument that ships with CVI (C:\Program Files\National Instruments\CVI90\toolslib\toolbox), you can find the StartupDLLs tag and replace the last value with your startup DLL, such as:
    #include "inifile.h"
    #include <cvirte.h>
    static int status;
    static IniText myINIFile;
    int main (int argc, char *argv[])
     if (InitCVIRTE (0, argv, 0) == 0)
      return -1;    /* out of memory */
     myINIFile = Ini_New (0);
     status = Ini_ReadFromFile (myINIFile, "c:\\ni-rt.ini");
     status = Ini_PutRawString (myINIFile, "LVRT", "StartupDLLs", "c:\\NI-RT\\system\\cvi_lvrt.dll;c:\\ni-rt\\system\\nidevldp.dll;nisysapirpc.dll;niorbp.dll;c:\\ni-rt\\system\\mxsemb.dll;c:\\ni-rt\\system\\nipxism.dll;c:\\NI-RT\\cvi\\myStartup.dll;");
     status = Ini_WriteToFile (myINIFile, "c:\\ni-rt.ini");
     return 0;
    Right now, there are some caveates with using CVI 9.0 to manipulate an INI file to be used on an RT target. The INI functions currently add line breaks automatically for large tag values and adds quotes around the values. For many INI files this is ok (such as TestStand INI files), but it will not work on an RT target. To remove these features, modify the following lines of the inifile.c file located in the same directory as the INI instrument:
    1. On line 38, change the default value of INI_NUM_CHARS_PER_LINE from 80 to a large number such as 8000.
    2. Comment out line 953 (newEntry->addMarkerQuotes = addMarkerQuotes;
    Now you should be able to programmatically change the INI file of your target machine and, therefore, change the startup DLLs.

  • How to Programmatically Set the limit (max, min input) of a control inside a cluster?

    I want to programmatically set the limit (max, min input) of a control inside a cluster. (see attached VI).
    The max, min value will be read from a file. The input of the control must be within the range defined by the max and min value.
    Can anyone tell me how to do it?
    Thanks a lot for your kind help.
    Xiaogang

    Accessing the properties of a cluster (or array) is not a trivial operation until you have done it once. It's a two step (at least) process : first, ask for a reference (array of...) to the objects contained in the cluster, then tell LV what kind of object you are adressing.

    How do I set any text value to the current page layout [comment] property and save it.....here my current page is using a custom page layout called spPageLayout1
    To be very much generalized how I can set and save any value to current page property programmatically....on load event I need to set the value.
    It is a publishing page layout.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to set the value to current Page layout property.
    To get current page property, you can refer to:

    Hi experts,
      I want to set the visibility of a field in ESS Address view through portal.How to edit a field through portal? Please help me with procedures to be followed..
    Thanks&Regards,
    Karthik.

    Hi,
    Login to portal with a user having content administration role.
    Navigate to your iview which must be under content provide by SAP(if its a standard iview).
    Open the iview and click on preview button.
    Then press ctr on keyboard and rightmouseclick on the field for which you want to change.
    A popup will open. Change the visibility in the popup and save the changes. This is a way of personalization and it'll be applicable for all the users.

  • DSC Module: Alarms & Events: How can I programmatically set the 'set user'?

    How can I set the Alarm&Event 'set user'?  Right now, it is always '(Nobody)'

    Thanks for the info.  I had not discovered the Security dialog under the Options.  However, now that I have delivered the first version of the software and have more time to play around, I have discovered the Account Domain Manager under Tools->Security, and that seems to be what I need.  In the image below, I used the Example entitled 'DSC Dynamic Alarm Update'  (available in Example Finder).  But first, I created a local domain called 'Skelly', and logged in as a user named 'zimmer'.  When the alarm came in, you can see that the set user is no longer 'Nobody'.  So now, all I need to do is modify my startup VI, to have each operator log in (using the DSC Security VIs).  That way I will have a record of which operator adjusted the valves & pumps.  ( I write all commands going to control devices to a text shared variable which I log. I also have checked the option to Generate an event upon value change.)

  • Trying to programmatically set the data-source for a Crystal reports report.

    I've got the following existing procedure that I need to add to in order to programmatically set the data-source (server, database, username, and password) for a Crystal reports report.
     I added the connectionInfo parts, but can’t figure out how to attach this to the existing

    This is currently getting the connection data from the report file, but I now need to populate this connection data from a 'config.xml' text file.

  • How do I set the audience when I'm using Siri on my iPhone 5 to post to Facebook

    How do I set the audience privacy for when I’m using Siri on my iPhone 5 to post to Facebook?
    When I ask Siri to post a message to my Facebook Siri tells me what I have said and then asks tot post it, I then checked on my computer and the post is visible to "ME ONLY" I can change this on the computer and on my phone via the App but I do not want to be doing that all the time.
    If I post to Facebook via Siri on my iPhone 5 I want it at the default setting of friends only.
    So How do I change this?
    I posted the first one 2 minutes ago then went into Facebook via the App and changed it but did a second one hoping that the default privacy had changed but it was again to me only. As you can see via the padlock. Please help. Thanks

    What if you do need help or emergency situation while Posting FB via Siri is the fastest way to show you or someone is in danger, and he/she is dying because the post is Only visible to Me !?!?!?!???

  • How do you set the Crystal Report Viewer Printer to Duplex

    Using the code below I can print in duplex mode, but this does not let me view a report before printing
    How do I set the Printer in the Viewer Control Bar of the Crystal Report Viewer to Duplex Printing programmatically rather than having to manually select Duplex through the preferences option?
    I have searched but the only example code I found produces errors in the code and will not run

    myReport.PrintOptions.PrinterDuplex = PrinterDuplex. Vertical
    myReport.PrintToPrinter(3, False, 0, 0)
    In my VB6 Project that I am converting to VB.NET when I added Report.PrinterDuplex = crPRDPVertical, this allowed me to view the report and then print with Duplex without having to set the Print Preferences manualy

    Hi David,
    You can mix both engines, just declare them both with different report object names. Here's all of my references:

    using System.Xml;
    using System.Drawing;
    using System.Collections;

  • How to programmatically place the field in the canvas.

    Hello!
    Can you please tell, how to programmatically place the field BLOCK1.FIELD1 in the canvas CANVAS1.
    At the moment on the field value CANVAS = NULL.
    And when opening the form error "FRM-41014 Cannot set attribute of null canvas item..."
    Thank you

    Youcannot assign a canvas at runtime. Yu have to specify int at designtime and it cannot be changed at runtime. if you need an item in more than one canvas, use a mirror-item (duplcate the item and set the property Synchronize with)

  • How do you set the value of an enumeration programatically

    I would like to be able to select (programatically) the value of an enumeration.  I don't seem to be able to find any reference to how to do that.
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    True, True.  The original post wanted to know how to programmatically "select" the enum value.  To me, that means to either force the enum to display another value, or retrieve the current value.   I thought Ben was referring to the fact that you can't programmatically set or initiate new values into an enum.  Which as he said, can only be done with a Ring.
    "In your example you're not "getting" the value of the enum. You're converting it to a string. That's a different operation."
    I showed two ways to get the value,  one gets the current string value associated with the numeric value, and the other gets the current numeric value.  i went further in the attached vi, by demonstrating how to change the current (displayed) value of the enum by using a string.  (IFF you already know the string values in the enum.)
    In my program, i use a typedef cluster with an enum in it.  At runtime, i need to "select" the active enum value based on which operation i'm performing.  I know from elsewhere in the program what operation i need, but it's string, and there's no easy way to change the value of an enum with a string, except with the backdoor methods i showed.
    I wish my cohort woulda used a ring.  ;-)

  • How u will set the external parameters like packet size and number

    How u will set the external parameters like packet size and number of parallel process.

    Dear Karthik,
    <b>ALE:</b>
    Use Transaction UPSC02         -      ALE Distribution Unit: Packet Types.
    Performance Optimization for <b>ODS</b> Objects:
    To ensure a good ODS object loading performance, take the following into account:
           1.      Creating SIDs
    The creation of SIDs takes a long time and can be avoided in the following cases by:
           Not setting the indicator for BEx Reporting if you are using the ODS object only as a data store. If you do set this indicator, SIDs are created for all new characteristic values.
           If you use line items (for example, document number or time stamp) as characteristics in the ODS object, in the characteristic maintenance, indicate these as Attribute Only.
    SIDs are created in parallel if <b>parallel activation</b> is switched on (see last point). They are then created with the same number of parallel processes as created for the activation.
    However, if you specify a server group or a special server in customizing, these specifications are not only valid for the activation, but also for the SID creation. The creation of SIDs runs on the application server on which the batch job also runs.
           2.      DB partitioning in active data tables (technical A table)
    By partitioning by database level, you can delete data from the ODS object much more quickly. As a partitioning criterion, choose the characteristic by which you want to delete.  For more information on partitioning database tables, see the database documentation (DBMS-CD). Partitioning is supported by the following databases: Oracle, DB2/390, Informix.
           3.      Indexing
    Use selection criteria for queries for ODS objects. If the key fields are specified, the existing primary index is used. The more frequently accessed characteristic should appear on the left-hand side.
    If you did not specify the key fields completely in the selection criteria (visible in the SQL trace), you improve the run time of the query by creating additional indexes. You can create these secondary indexes in the ODS object maintenance.
           4.      Activation of data in an ODS object
    To improve system performance when activating data in the ODS object, you can make the following entries in Customizing under SAP Customizing Implementation Guide -> SAP NetWeaver -> Business Information Warehouse -> General BW Settings ->  ODS Object Settings:
           the maximum number of parallel processes when activating data in the ODS object as when moving SIDs
           the minimum number of data records for each data package when activating data in the ODS object, meaning you define the size of the data packages that are activated
           the maximum wait time in seconds when activating data in the ODS object. This is the time when the main process (batch process) waits for the dialog process that is split before it classifies it as having failed.
           the server group that needs to be used when activating the data in ODS objects in parallel You have to create the server groups beforehand using the following path: Tools -> Administration -> Network -> RFC Destination, RFC -> RFC Groups. If you do not specify anything here, then the activation runs on the server on which the batch process was started for activation. If a server from the server group is not active, then the activation is cancelled.
           5.      Loading unique data records
    If you only load unique data records (meaning data records with nonrecurring key combinations) into the ODS object, then the loading performance is improved when you set the indicator Unique Data Records in the ODS object maintenance.
    The records are then updated more quickly because the system no longer needs to check whether the record already exists. You do have to be sure that there duplicate records are definitely not being loaded, because this will lead to termination.
    Regards,
    Naveen.

  • Send apple email - how do I set the - send FROM account?

    found this nice script to auto create and send apple email...
    Q: how do I set the : send from account?
    tell application "Mail"
    set theMessage to make new outgoing message with properties {visible:true, subject:"My Subject", content:"My Body"}
    tell theMessage
    make new to recipient at end of to recipients with properties {name:"test", address:"[email protected]"}
    end tell
    send theMessage
    end tell
    nice info here:
    http://www.mactech.com/articles/mactech/Vol.21/21.09/ScriptingMail/index.html

    I've been using the following which may be more complicated than necessary but it does work:
    -- SCRIPT SEGMENT --
    tell application "Mail"
    activate
    set listOfSenders to {}
    set everyAccount to every account
    repeat with eachAccount in everyAccount
    set everyEmailAddress to email addresses of eachAccount
    if (everyEmailAddress is not equal to missing value) then
    repeat with eachEmailAddress in everyEmailAddress
    set listOfSenders to listOfSenders & {(full name of eachAccount & " <"Mail"
    set newMessage to make new outgoing message with properties {subject:theSubject, content:theBody & return & return}
    tell newMessage
    set visible to true
    set sender to theSender
    make new to recipient at end of to recipients with properties {name:theName, address:theAddress}
    set font to "Lucinda Sans"
    set size to 14
    end tell
    activate
    --send newMessage
    end tell
    -- END SCRIPT SEGMENT --
    I have commented the actual "send message" line so that I can read the message before clicking the send button as I often will add a comment.
