How to pull data from EJB and present them using Swing ?

Hi all,
I've written stateful session bean which connect to Oracle database, and now I must write stand alone client application using Swing.
The client app must present the data and then let users add,delete and edit data and it must be flexible enough to iterate through the records.
The swing components can be JTextField,JTable etc.
How to pull the data from EJB and present them to users with the most efficient network trip ?

Since the whole app originally was client-server app and I want to make it more scalable, so I decide to separate business logic in the EJB but I also want to keep the performance and the userfriendliness of the original user interface, and I want to continue using Swing as the original user interface does.
I've read about using Rowset and I need some opinions about this from you guys who already have some experience with it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can this be acheived using a SQL statement.Yes, you can do it with the DML error logging clause.
Here's a quick example I've just set up :

Can one suggest me how to pull data from oracle GL in to hyperion planning(we are using hyperion planning 9.3 with limited licence for analytic services). i guess we can use HAL ..any thing else

I appreciate for your response. Yep you are exactly right it is data only, but I do have a problem these people have their licence of limited version of Essbase.
Let me give you the information of their licence agreement.
The licence for the hyperion planning- sytem9 programs includes a limited use license for both the hyperion Essbase- system 9 and hyperion Financial reporting - system 9 programs. Such limited use license means that the hyperion Essbase- system 9 and Hyperion financial reporting -system 9 programs may only be used to access data from the Hyperion planning -system 9 program.
Specifically, the hyperion essbase- system 9 program cannot be used to create Essbase cubes that do not contain data used by the Hyperion planning- system 9 program and the Aggregate storage option component of the Hyperion Essbase - system 9 program may not be used.
1) what it(licence agreement) really means - can you install Essbase, if not how can you create dimensions dynamically using planning.
2) Is it possible without Essbase as far as I know its not possible
3) are we going to face any issues with this licence.
4) Is it possibe to pull data with planning

You need to perform some native SQL to fetch data. Before doing this connection must be exists b/w your R/3 and Oracle server.

You have to do the following:
1. Create an entry in Trxn DBCA for SQL Server in SAP, you are creating a database connection for the SQL server in SAP.
2. You use this connection, and write Native SQL stmnts...between EXECSQL...ENDEXEC to fetch the data..and then normal ABAP statements to put that data into your ztable.

I am working on a project to instrument a product which runs on java as well as c/c++.
Is there a way to pull data from a c/c++ application to a MBean?
I am able to push the data through a custom TCP Adapter, But I could not get much help on a pull model.
Also I would like to get some pointers on instrumentation techniques / patterns.

Automated process to pull data from a web page without using VS and PS.

I'm looking at finding a solution to pull data from an external web page and creating a list. I'm looking for a NON-POWERSHELL AND NON-VISUAL STUDIO solution. I am open to using InfoPath Designer.
There exists a custom, non-SharePoint page built for us which has raw data. We've already created a custom list to match the data and now need to come up with a solution to automatically update the data. In this particular scenario, power shell and visual
studio cannot be used.

Why would you cripple yourself and restrict PowerShell at the very least which has perfect functionality for doing exactly that.
I doubt you could use the InfoPath data sources to pull the raw data in, re-map it and save to SharePoint without resorting to some sort of coding within InfoPath.

you can create connection from EAS to SAP .. using a plug-in .. if you have access to oracle Support go for [ID 968961.1]
or
below are steps
1. In EASPATH\console, open components.xml in a text editor.
2. Under <PluginList>, enter <Plugin archiveName="SAP" packageName="com.essbase.eas.sap.ui"/> before the closing </PlugIn> tag.
3. Save and close the file.
4. In EASPATH\console\bin, open admincon.lax in a text editor.
5. Search for lax.class.path= and append ;..\lib\sap_client.jar;..\lib \sap_common.jar to the entry. Save and close the file.
6. In EASPATH\server\bin, open adminsvr.lax in a text editor.
7. Search for lax.nl.java.option.additional, and append -DRFC_INI=EASPATH\server\saprfc.ini. Save and close the file.
8. Create a new environment variable, RFC_INI, with a value of EASPATH\server\saprfc.ini
9. Copy librfc.dll andsapjcorfc.dll to EASPATH\server\bin. You may need to obtain these files from SAP.

to do this you can either develop a XSLT program and use it with CALL TRNSFORMATION key word to tranform the XML into itab .
(search the ABAP General forum, i have posted few samples)
or simply use the following FM which converts your XML into a itab of name value pair (name would holw the element name and value would hold the value of the element) which you can then loop and read it to your itb.
data:             xmldata type xstring .
data: result_xml type standard table of smum_xmltb .
data: return type standard table of bapiret2 .

How to get data from an existing Excel file using report generation toolkit

I'm trying to use the Excel Get Data vi from the report generation toolkit, but i can't figure out how to turn a browsable path into the right type for the VI. I've tried using the New Report.vi, but that doesn't work unless you use a template. It won't open an existing excel file and make it an open report to pull data from.
Essentially, i have a bunch of excel files that have data in them and i want to use a VI to analyze the data. So, i'm trying to pull in all the data directly from the excel file so i don't have to reproscess them all into text so i can use the more standard spreadsheet VIs. But to even convert the excel file programtically in labview won't i still need to be able to open the excel file and get the data?

Got it,
the reason why I can view it using my Excel file because its in .CSV.
I open Microsoft Excel to open .CSV file.
But you can also open .csv file with notepad.
So, you cannot open .xls with Read Spreadsheet File
