How to push deltas immediately into bw
Dear Friends,
Due to an upgradation to R3 , we have a requirement to push all the deltas immediately into BW and delete all the setup tables and data in smq1/lbwe, rsa7 etc .once the upgradation is done r3 should be intact with BW and exactly in the shape in which it was. All I need is how to manually push the data from all the deltas into bw immediately , I have few process chains running in bw (released), are they going to get affected , if yes how can I resolve the problem. I have posted this in one more thread but no one could give me a step by step or a detailed note on this
thanks,
Prasad
To clear deltas and trfc queues from R/3 into BW, you will have to execute delta infopackage manually for each datasource you see in RSA7. Also to make delta queues complete 0, you will have to run each infopackage twice. So that repeat of last delta is also cleared.
You will start this activity once Basis take system down from users so that no new transactions in R/3 will be posted. And once you do this clearing step, then basis will apply upgrade support pack.
Your process chain will be fine and nothing will happen to them.

How to Push the into SAP ( XML data converted into IDOC )
Hi
i am getting XML file from Non SAP system.I need to push XML data into SAP on daily basis with out using XI as the middleware.
I know if i get text file will use BDC's or LSMW. But i am getting data in XML format and then i need to converted into IDOC format and stored in to sap data base tables.
Thanks for advance.
sriniIs the XML an IDOC-XML or custom XML that you need to post as an IDOC??
If it is IDOC-XML you need to defined XMLFile port to process the IDOC-XML without any mapping.
If it is a custom XML, parse the XML data into an internal table (as required) & continue with BDC or IDOC posting as you wish.
Check for XML parsing programs..

How is PUSH *supposed* to work?
I have just moved from a v1 iPhone to a 3G. I have had the 3G for 3 days.
I'm trying to understand how the PUSH function works. The User Manual is not very clear.
I'm using Mobile.Me
I am not getting an alert when my phone is 'asleep'. Is this normal? (I would have thought the point of PUSH was that you are alerted when there is email .... )
I can send myself a test, which is picked up pretty much instantly by my desktop Macs, but even if I leave the iPhone untouched for say 20 minutes, then wake it up, there is still no message. If I then go into the Mail app. (on the iPhone) it will then connect, download and alert me.
This doesn't seem like the correct behaviour.
Any explanations of how it is supposed to work would be most welcome.
Grant SymonRomingGnome, Deggie, Thanks.
I think what happened was that I had deleted my non-standard MM account on the iPhone, but then of course, when I did the first sync, it was replaced from the MM servers.
I have now left this account on the iPhone, but turned it off, and made a new MM, standard account, which I then synced, did a test and it worked immediately, with alert, whilst the phone was asleep. Very very cool and just what I wanted.
I shall now have to experiment to see if I can get the non-standard MM account to work too. All this because Apple won't let us use a non MM 'return address'. How dumb is that? Still ... one has to hope that with Apple trying to push the iphone towards enterprise, they might notice that [email protected] is not really the return address most business users are going to want.
Thanks again,

How SAP determines Delta records?
Dear Experts,
I have a standard extractor 2LIS_02_ITM. It works like this.
1. when a sales order is saved, a customized program creates a new PO and updates a field in the PO using direct update, the abap 'update' command.
2. in BI, this record created is loaded as delta.
3. We notice that sometimes this when delta loaded, this field is blank and sometimes its not.
A. We suspect the delta did not capture program-created PO if this field value is populated as blank by the program.
B. If the program-created PO is opened and edited by user and then saved, SAP would generate a Delta record?
If this delta is created and BI reloads delta, this delta would be loaded into BI and the report would show the field value.
So, I need to check with experts here if using customized program to create a PO and update a field in it at the same time, would this be captured by the Delta mechanism?
Normally, if manually created, the PO would, i assume, be captured in the delta queue. But what about using program?
Please advise how delta is or can be affected by programs and how exactly is delta determined in this case. This standard extractor is set to use delta, i think using numeric field.
So, I am not sure if its due to R/3 or BW. For BW, its a direct mapping of the updated field. So, I do not think there is an issue on BW side.
regards
PascalDear Debjani,
On your reply to point 2 about the timing of LIS V3 update run, I like to seek clarification how the timing could cause the problem given that many delta records have successfully been loaded with existing way where a collection run is scheduled to run every around 15 minutes and is able to capture the delta except in some cases which is the problem? How can the field value change be missed due to this? On your point 3 reply, the PO is created by program and it can be created by user.
I still require some clarification . Hope you can kindly bear with me.
1. For most of the delta records loaded into BI from R/3, there is no problem with the data. The program-created PO records can be loaded. But for some cases, even when this field is populated by program or EDI, after auto-creation of the PO. This delta is loaded into BI with this field being blank.
2. This suggests to me, for most cases of the auto-PO creation, the BI Delta mechanism in R/3 is able to handle PO created by automated program in R/3.
3. So, seems to me, regardless of how the PO is created : user created / by program / by EDI, the delta mechanism seems to work. So, I like to learn more how exactly can TIMING difference (asynchronous) between the creation of PO records and the LIS V3 update delta queue creation batch job have resulted in the field update from not being extracted into the delta queue ?
Solutions (i think):
1. Is it possible to Change the current delta queue update extraction method from periodic (every x minutes) V3 update batch run to the Direct / Unserialised V3 update extraction method as mentioned by Arvind earlier? Would this mean every time PO is created by any means, even by program or field updated by EDI, the delta queue is immediately created to capture the change? This sounds like a solution?
2. Have the auto-PO creation program Trigger an R/3 event to run the V3 update whenever it has completed an update or PO creation to generate the delta queue. Would this load the r/3 too much if run frequently? Or since frequent run would mean also less delta queue created which means shorter run time?
Dear Sven,
would it be good idea to use the program for ME22N to update the particular field After the PO is auto-created by the ME21N program? Would this mean, using these programs will assure that delta is captured?
Best regards
Pascal

XEM - Unable to load the initial data or the variances(delta) data into sys
I am installing xEM 2.0 SP 10 (SAP xApp Emissions Management) in a windows environment with SQL 5000. I installed xEM on NW 2004, usage types AS Java and EP 6.
I am attempting to load the initial data or the variances (delta) data into the system. Instruction is on page 15 in the install guide.
I am supposed to enter the following in the command line:
java -Djava.ext.dirs=. -jar SAPtrans.jar import logfile=import.log datafile=init.dat connectstring=[JDBC Driver];[JDBCUrl];[User];[Password]
Example command for import into SQL Server:
java -Djava.ext.dirs=. -jar SAPtrans.jar import logfile=import.log datafile=init.dat connectstring=com.ddtek.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver; jdbc:datadirect:sqlserver://vma03:1433;SAPC11DB;password
The customer I am with is running the xEM database on a different instance. This is where I run into a problem. I am not sure how to specify the instance in the script. This is what I have attempted so far:

My last attempt was a command using colons and semicolons with the following results. The closest (there was a significant delay before the error or failure) appears to have been //PRODSQL43;SQL3:1534; (second attempt). The error listed from this attempt is "Error establishing socket. Connection refused: connect".
I also checked the default database that user SAPPEMDB has in place and it is assign the correct database.
Please help.

Mike SmayrabunyaHey,
It looks like one of the following:
1. The DB is down,
2. The user SAPPEMDB does not have the right authorization.
3. The password of the user SAPPEMDB is not password
4. The syntax is incorrect
in order to find what is the problem,
please:
1. Login in the the DB PRODSQL43:1534 with the user "SAPPEMDB" and the password "password",
this will eliminate the options 1 - DB down, 2 -SAPPEMDB does not have authorization and 3 - password of the user SAPPEMDB is not password.
2. If the login failed, than please run sql trace with security elements (in the client there is a tool called "SQL Profiler"
3. If the login is correct, than you check the syntax of the command:
"java -Djava.ext.dirs=. -jar SAPtrans.jar import logfile=import.log datafile=init.dat connectstring=com.ddtek.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver; jdbc:datadirect:sqlserver://vma03:1433;SAPC11DB;password"
According to the error message "Error establishing socket. Connection refused"
it looks like The DB is down or syntax is incorrect. -
ipad - how to push Exchange calendar events to iCloud account? MobileIron is used to get Exchange data -- is there an app to push the ipad version of the events to iCloud?
There are two separate calendars on ipad (ios 7.1) one for icloud, one fo exchange. I have tried a couple of calendar apps and while they do a good job of showing the events in the app - they don't push (synch) back to iCloud. Any thoughts on an app that will take my ipad calendars and synch them to a single icloud calendar/account?
ThanksHi
You asked about a recommendation for an app to paste a group of addresses into the To, Cc or Bcc fields of an email?
Our "MailShot Pro" app is the only one we know of on the App Store that creates special "group contacts" in your address book which contain all your groups email addresses, but can be used just like regular contacts from most of your favourite apps. We now have nearly 50000 people using it, and growing steadily every day.
Here is a link if you would like to know more “MailShot Pro” (itunes link).
A free version is also available if you'd like to try it out with a small nmber of contacts.

How to push a chain in CPS Redwood
1)During peak loads - the load step gets successful however the chain does not move further
this can be handled by pushing the chain from that particular step onwards in Bw side using function module RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH. Need to know how can this scenario be handled in CPS REDWOOD.
2)Some times due to data issues in BW side we ignore the records which has issues and push the PC forward. In Redwood side we need to know how to push the load further.
We tried to restart using operator message from the step we want the load to start from but CPS did not respond.

RameshYou are trying to convert a string that looks like a formula (contained in cell B2) and have the result of the formula be calculated in cell B3, right?
Two ideas:
Idea 1: If you format B2 as text then enter the text =5*2*3 then change the cell format to Automatic, it will do the calculation in cell B2. You can convert it back to text to see the formula again.
Idea 2: Use an Applescript. The Applescript would copy the string from B2, put the "=" at the beginning and put it into B3. B3 will calculate the result. You can design the script to do this for multiple sets of cells. An example is below for you to try out. If you like it we can make it so it can be started with a keyboard command. Not quite sure how we'll stop it with a keyboard command, though
Open the Applescript Editor application
Copy the entire script from below
Paste it into Applescript Editor
Open a new Numbers document
Put a formula into cell B2
Run the script
When you are done testing it out, stop the script. Otherwise it will run forever.
tell application "Numbers" to tell document 1 to tell sheet 1 to tell table 1
set vold to ""
repeat
set vnew to ("=" & value of cell "B2")
if vold ≠ vnew then
set value of cell "b3" to vnew
set vold to vnew
end if
end repeat
end tell -
How to use Delta Update in InfoSpoke
How to use Delta Update in InfoSpoke & to include in Process Chain
Initialization / delta updates are what we do every day, and it is usually the update method of choice for most data targets. The delta mechanism ensures the consistency of transactional data. So if some data is wrong in the early stage of data flow, we have to not only correct the data itself but also the related records in subsequent data targets.
Unfortunately, such data can't be avoided in daily extractions. In some situations, the data to ODS is correct but reports errors while loading from ODS to Cubes.
Here is one example:
Some FI documents transferred in R/3 with LSMW's background mode and one of the line items 'Negative posting signal' was inserted with 'x' while the right one should be 'X'.
This line time stays cool in my ODS Z1CCWO01, but encounters errors while loaded into several Cubes when the process chain's running. -
Details about how to do delta load
Hi,
Can someone please give me the details about how to do delta from scratch. Like, i have the custom datasource created in the RSO2, created infosource in BW, loaded that into an ODS using full load. Now how do I do the delta for the same ods instead of full load. It will be a great help to me if you can give me the steps how to do and your help is always appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
SueHi
Delta Process
Definition
The delta process is a feature of the extractor and specifies how data is to be transferred. As a DataSource attribute, it specifies how the DataSource data is passed on to the data target. From this you can derive, for example, for which data a DataSource is suited, and how the update and serialization are to be carried out.
Use
The type of delta process affects the update into a data target. When you update data in an ODS object, you need to serialize it so that you can also overwrite it. According to the delta process, the system decides whether it is necessary to serialize by request or by data packet.
Structure
There are various delta processes for SAP source systems:
1. Forming deltas with after, before and reverse images that are updated directly in the delta queue; an after image shows the status after the change, a before image the status before the change with a negative sign and the reverse image also shows the negative sign next to the record while indicating it for deletion. This serializes the delta packets. The delta process controls whether adding or overwriting is permitted. In this case, adding and overwriting are permitted. This process supports an update in an ODS object as well as in an InfoCube. (technical name of the delta process in the system): ABR)
2. The extractor delivers additive deltas that are serialized by request. This serialization is necessary since the extractor within a request delivers each key once, and otherwise changes in the non-key fields are not copied over correctly. It only supports the addition of fields. It supports an update in an ODS object as well as in an InfoCube. This delta process is used by LIS DataSources. (technical name of the delta process in the system): ADD)
3. Forming deltas with after image, which are updated directly in the delta queue. This serializes data by packet since the same key can be copied more than once within a request. It does not support the direct update of data in an InfoCube. An ODS object must always be in operation when you update data in an InfoCube. For numeric key figures, for example, this process only supports overwriting and not adding, otherwise incorrect results would come about. It is used in FI-AP/AR for transferring line items, while the variation of the process, where the extractor can also send records with the deletion flag, is used in this capacity in BBP. (technical name of the delta process in the system): AIM/AIMD)

How to do delta using aggregate ineed clear steps
how to do delta using aggregate ineed clear steps
Hi Deba,
If i understood your question corectly:- How to do delta loads to Aggregated Cube.
If yes then it is as normal as loading a delta load into a normal cube.
But only diff will be u need to roll up the cube that has aggregates after the sucessfull delta load. After u do the rollup only the data will be available for reporting.
Here u need to be carefull abt 1 thing is if the data volume grows up in the aggregated cube and if you want to compress the data then u can do it for the Rolled up data only.
Aggregates acts on F-Fact Table & Compression Acts on E-Facttable.
So in process Rollup comes first and Cube Compression will be second. Here we have an option of Compressing the rolled up data in Aggregates this is diff from Cube compression.

How does the Delta functionality works while updating Infocube from PA
Hi Gurus
How does the Delta functionality works when you send forecast to the Info cube from the Planning Area.
As I have weekly based planning, every week we have to update the forecast into the Cube. If I update every week into the Cube , then the values are going to append in the Info cube.
Shall I create ODS in between the Planning area and the Info cube .
(or)
Any other method ?
Please Suggest.Hi Preetham,
Data Extraction from planning area to infocube usually its supports for full update only, when u r going to load the data from planning area to cube ,it deletes the previous data and u vil get the fresh data, this is the best method performance wise,
if u want to use the delta functionality u can go for planning area to Dso, Dso to cube, it vil supports the delta functionality, but it vil degrades the system performance,

Free sample book downloads - How do I get them into my reader?
Hi, All
I have just installed Adobe Digital Editions on my computer, running Vista. I tried to download 3 of their free samples. One, the first chapter of a book, downloaded immediately into Adobe Digital Editions and showed up on my bookshelf.
The other two, (books by Arthur C. Clarke and Philip K. Dick) did not show up in my Adobe Digital Editions bookshelf, no matter how many times I downloaded them. I found them in my recent downloads file, but could not open them from there, either, as they had a strange extension (not .pdf, but something else).
I've tried everything within my meagre capabilities and am becoming frustrated. Can anyone help?
Thanks!Hi Jim,
Thank you very much for your quick response. However, I tried double clicking on the .acsm file but the book did not appear on the Adobe Digital Editions bookshelf or in any of the files.Do you have any other tips?
The sample chapter that did appear on my bookshelf (from another book) appeared instantly when I selected it, so I don't even know if that one was a .acsm file or something else.
Thank you!

For Creating Views,
You can also find the step by step procedure of this in chapter 11 in Fu Fu Book.
1. Create a view (Zname) in transaction SE11.
2. In the next popup window, select Database view.
3. Provide the short test and include the tables for the view.
4. Ideally, you should include all the key fields in the join conditions. Either you enter the joining conditions manually or, select all the tables on the left and click on the "Relationships". This will include all the joining conditions for the tables.
5. Select the fields that you want to view from the tables included.
6. In the selection conditions tab, include any conditions you want to put.
7. Activate the View.

Direct delta:
transactional data or application posting will be directly available in the delta queue table with out any intermediate tables. then that data will be extracted from r/3 to bw.
Each document posting is directly transferred into the BW delta queue
u2022 each document posting with delta extraction leads to exactly one LUW in the respective BW delta queues
Transaction postings lead to:
1. Records in transaction tables and in update tables
2. A periodically scheduled job transfers these postings into the BW delta queue
3. This BW Delta queue is read when a delta load is executed.
Pros:
u2022 Extraction is independent of V2 update
u2022 Less monitoring overhead of update data or extraction queue
Cons:
u2022 Not suitable for environments with high number of document changes
u2022 Setup and delta initialization have to be executed successfully before document postings are resumed
u2022 V1 is more heavily burdened
Queued delta:
first the data posting will available in the extraction queue table. then there periodic job run take that data to queued delta table.
u2022 Extraction data is collected for the affected application in an extraction queue
u2022 Collective run as usual for transferring data into the BW delta queue
Transaction postings lead to:
1. Records in transaction tables and in extraction queue
2. A periodically scheduled job transfers these postings into the BW delta queue
3. This BW Delta queue is read when a delta load is executed.
Pros:
