How to put non-repeating field in a repeating frame?

I have a formula field that creates the header for a list in a repeating frame. I seem to be in a quandary though-if I include the field inside the repeating frame the header gets repeated. If I put it outside the frame I get an error 'Field references Column at a frequency below its group'. If I move the formula column to the parent query it works except in the case where the child query returns no rows-then I get the header with no data.
So, I either need a way to display the header inside the repeating frame, but only once, or I need a way to suppress the header when the child query returns no rows.

Keep the formula column in detail group and create one more summary column as serial number for the detail records so in repeating frame place that field (formula column) in repeating frame and use the PL/SQL code for that field as below...
IF :serial_no = 1 THEN
RETURN TRUE;
ELSE
RETURN FALSE;
END IF;Then it should display for the first record only.

How do I use a non repeating frame on it's own.
I have one query in which I have selected 3 fields.
In the paper layout, I have placed 3 fields in a non repeating frame.
When I run the report, I get a REP-1213 error - Filed 'xxx' at frequency below its group.
When I place the 3 fields ina repeating frame, it works, because the repeating frame property inspector allows me to enter the group and the non repeating frame does not.
So, my question is, when and how does one use a non repeating frame.
I need to understand the principle behind it.

You mainly use regular frames to group objects together or prevent them from being overwritten. Check the help on About Frames.

There are 2 ways wherein you can make a field as input enabled.
One is by setting the edit = 'X' in the fieldcatalog for that field.
Loop at l_fcat.
if l_fcat-fieldname = 'FIELD'.
l_fcat-edit = 'X'.
modify l_fcat.
endif.
Endloop.
Second method is by using Styles by which you enable a field, disable a field or make it a pushbutton etc..Using Styles can be found in any basic document on ALV.

Where do you want to create this field? (Create User Form, Process Form....).
If your requirement is to do it in the Create User Form, or Self Register or Edit Profile... You have to edit the FormMetadata.xml file. There are many posts in the forum of how to edit this file but ask if you need any help.

You can implement the BADI" BBP_UI_CONTROL_BADI".
You can check for the role of the user who has logged in(e.g. for user REQUESTER,there will be a distinct role to idnetify that the user is a requester) and then acc set the display properties for the field PRICE.

How to separate non metric fields in Fact tables

How to put one Quanlity field into dimension(not keyfigure) in Mltprovider?

Dear experts:
We have one simple multiprovider based on material master. The query user want to see all the fields as free characteristics so that they can choose to put any field on the rows or columns.
Now the problem is: in material master there are some quanlity fields so previously we defined them as key figures in the multiprovider. Today when I did a test I found seems I can not pull those quanlity fields into the dimensions.
Can anybody give me a suggestion how to fix the issue?
BTW, we must use multiprovider since it is a guideline to build query based on.
Any post would be appreciated and thank you all in advance!

I assume common fields in borh 0MATERIAL and 0MAT_PLANT will hold same data for same record for example say you have common fields Material no, A and B then record in master data will look like
0material                                                 0Mat_plant

2                 A2 B2                                 2               A2 B2
If my assumption is right then choose all such common fields as key for Infoset and then you can pull only one from both to your report and it should work fine.
And yes in this case build your report on Infoset, but remember that for any material which does not exist in both the Masterdata object will not be deisplayed in report in this case.
i am not sure if it is likely scenario for you but If you want to see such records then multiprovider is the choice, then your design might look a bit different.

How to put a repeatable shadow at the bottom of a wine bottle

I'll select an image of a bottle (beer or wine) and it's all nice and clean around the bottom, totally isolated from the background. I've asked Photoshop savvy friends how to do this and they all have come up with some workaround that is not repeatable. Check out this image from a wine makers' website: the shadow at the bottom is the same from shot to shot and I'm sure is added at the bottom in post, not when the bottle was photographed. How to do this?
Attached is an image of a bottle with shadow from the website and one of my own bottle images with no shadow. Remember, it's got to be a repeatable shadow that I can add to any "finished" image and not have to worry about selecting around the nebulous outline of the shadow. Thanks.

1) create a circle shape
2)squish the circle down to give it its shape
3)Move the shape layer below the image layer
4)Convert the shape layer to a smart object
5)Apply a guassian blur to the shape
6)Reduce the opacity of the shape layer
7)reposition the shape layer if needed.
The above assumes the bottle is on its own layer with no background
If necessary to remove the white background you can you the quick selection tool to select the white and hit the delete key. To make sure the bottle will be on a transparent background, you must unlock the image layer by dragging its lock icon to the trashcan before hitting the delete key.
Once all the steps above are done, you can apply a new background by either filling a new layer with a color and moving that layer below all other layers.
or
use the solid color adjustment layer and set its color to your choosing and then move that layer below all other layers.

I have an spreadsheet with a lot of email addresses and some of them are repeated. I need to know exactly how many email addresses I have. It's the same thing as categorize but I need a formula.
I've tried with this excel formula: =SUMPRODUCT(A2:A10"";1;0)/COUNT.IF(A2:A10;A2:A10&""))
modified to Numbers in these way: =SUMPRODUCT(IF(A2:A10"";1;0)/COUNT.IF(A2:A10;A2:A10&""))
But in both cases appears that "A2:A10" it can be considered like a unique value.

How to annotate non-persistence fields?

Hi,
I am using TopLink Essentials as my JPA provider. I have few objects where I don't have a mapping of fields on the object to the database columns. Basically I would like to use few fields in the object to create some behaviour and doesn't want to persist or query. By default, TopLink is reading all the fields and mapping them to the table I defined and I am getting the "Invalid Identifier" errors. Is there a way I can tell TopLink to ignore certain fields in an Entity class for the persistence. I have used the @Column annotation for all my fields that are in the DB to map. Can I use any annotations for this purpose or any other ways to achieve this? I do not want create separate subclasses just for 2 or 3 fields that I use. Your help is appreciated.

Why not put the page number in the margin like this:
Page 1 of 3
Page 2 of 3
Page 3 of 3
You do that by creating a text field in the margin. Enter this text:
Page &<PhysicalPageNumber> of &<TotalPhysicalPages>

How to anchor two repeating frames

I have a tabular report with two queries, one as a parent frame and the other as a child frame.
The master query is like a query displaying employees tables with some restricions.
The child query is like displaying all employees that their manager_id is the employee_id in the master query, the report will be like this as a simpliciy :
employee_id manager_id
1 50 master record
15 1 child record
19 1 child record
2 22 master record
no records found no child records found
5 14 master record
44 5 child record
I Merged the child frame into the parent frame to group the data as above , and it is working fine, i want to delete the boilerplate (no records found) , when i do this i get a space between the master frames (in case that no child records found) which i want to remove.
I'm trying to make a collapsing anchor between the two frames but i can't.
How can i solve this problem please ?

Possible solutions that may or may not work:
Try the "Vertical space between frames" property instead of creating a space in the layout editor. Set it to a value. If the frame is not printed, you don't have the vertical space.
Instead of a frame space, create a field with a formatting trigger. If there are no records than return FALSE in the trigger.

How to properly create a non-repeat report block?

Hi everyone,
I am trying to create a front page for my report. In the report data mode I have a query only return one record, so why that query in the data model showed as a group? <It has the query name - Q_1 on the top, and a group box at the bottom named G_xxxx.>
Second question is why i use the report block wizard to create the frontpage, the wizard forced me to select a group, otherwise it give warning/error message. I only want to select the client name and his address and no need to repeat <so the frame should use the non-repeatable frame right?>.
At the moment, I have two queries in the data model, first one is the "select" query which will only return one record for the report's front page, second query is a matrix (cross product) query for the main contents of my report. Both query has no link.
This is my first Oracle report so any suggestions are the most welcoming.

Thats what I was thinking too. Is this the only way to create a non-repeatable frame; no wizard can be use for create non-repeatable report block? Why I am asking this is because I am lazy, dont want to add all the fields and labels one by one to the frame.
Secondly, in the data model, is there any way to create a query which the data model will not recognise it as a group query but a single record query?
